Quantum $K$-theory of Lagrangian Grassmannian via parabolic Peterson isomorphism
We study Schubert calculus in the torus-equivariant quantum $K$-ring of the Lagrangian Grassmannian $\mathrm{LG}(n)$. Our main tool is the $K$-theoretic Peterson map due to Kato. The map is from the (localized) equivariant $K$-homology ring $K_{*}^{T}(\mathrm{Gr}_{G})$ of the affine Grassmannian $\mathrm{Gr}_{G}$ of the symplectic group $G=\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}(\mathbb{C})$ to the (localized) torus-equivariant quantum $K$-ring $QK_{T}(\mathrm{LG}(n))$. We determine explicitly the kernel of this map.

Given a finite poset $P$, we study the _whirling_ action on vertex-labelings of $P$ with the elements $\{0,1,2,\dotsc ,k\}$. When such labelings are (weakly) order-reversing, we call them $k$-bounded $P$-partitions. We give a general equivariant bijection between $k$-bounded $P$-partitions and order ideals of the poset $P\times [k]$ which conveys whirling to the well-studied rowmotion operator. As an application, we derive periodicity and homomesy results for rowmotion acting on the chain of V's poset $V \times [k]$. We are able to generalize some of these results to the more complicated dynamics of rowmotion on $C_{n}\times [k]$, where $C_{n}$ is the claw poset with $n$ unrelated elements each covering $\widehat{0}$.

The Schubert problem asks for combinatorial models to compute structure constants of the cohomology ring with respect to Schubert classes and has been an important open problem in algebraic geometry and combinatorics that guided fruitful research for decades. In this paper, we provide an explicit formula for the (equivariant) Schubert structure constants $c_{uv}^w$ across all Lie types when the elements $u,v,w$ are boolean. In particular, in type $A$, all Schubert structure constants on boolean elements are either $0$ or $1$.
Tropical vector bundles and matroids
We introduce a notion of tropical vector bundle on a tropical toric variety which is a tropical analogue of a torus equivariant vector bundle on a toric variety. Alternatively it can be called a toric matroid bundle. We define equivariant $K$-theory and characteristic classes of these bundles. As a particular case, we show that any matroid comes with tautological tropical toric vector bundles over the permutahedral toric variety and the corresponding equivariant $K$-classes and Chern classes recover the tautological classes of matroids constructed in the recent work of Berger-Eur-Spink-Tseng. In analogy with toric vector bundles, we define sheaf of sections and Euler characteristic as well as positivity notions such as global generation, ampleness and nefness for tropical toric vector bundles. Moreover, we prove a vanishing of higher cohomologies result. Finally, we study the splitting of our tropical toric vector bundles and, in particular, an analogue of Grothendieck's theorem on splitting of vector bundles on projective line.
Link patterns and elliptic Hecke algebra

We compare the following three families of geometric objects: Schubert varieties in flag manifolds, matrix Schubert varieties, and Borel orbits of 2-nilpotent matrices. The first family is governed by permutations, the second by partial permutations, and the last one by "link patterns". These geometric objects admit characteristic classes in equivariant elliptic cohomology obtained within the framework created by Borisov and Libgober. We construct a Hecke-type algebra for computing elliptic classes and extend its action to include partial permutations and linking patterns. A uniform point of view facilitates a better understanding of duality.
Commutative Properties of Schubert Puzzles with Convex Polygonal Boundary Shapes
We generalize classical triangular Schubert puzzles to puzzles with convex polygonal boundary. We give these puzzles a geometric Schubert calculus interpretation and derive novel combinatorial commutativity statements, using purely geometric arguments, for puzzles with four, five, and six sides, having various types of symmetry in their boundary conditions. We also present formulas for the associated structure constants in terms of Littlewood-Richardson numbers, and we prove an analogue of commutativity for parallelogram-shaped equivariant puzzles.
Stembridge codes, permutahedral varieties, and their extensions
It is well known that the Eulerian polynomial is the Hilbert series of the cohomology of the permutahedral variety. Stanley obtained a formula showing that the cohomology carries a permutation representation of $\mathfrak{S}_n$. We answer a question of Stembridge on finding an explicit permutation basis of this cohomology. We observe that the Feichtner-Yuzvinsky basis for the Chow ring of the Boolean matroid is such a permutation basis, and then we construct an $\mathfrak{S}_n$-equivariant bijection between this basis and codes introduced by Stembridge, thereby giving a combinatorial proof of Stanley's formula. We obtain an analogous result for the stellahedral variety. We find a permutation basis of the permutation representation its cohomology carries. This involves the augmented Chow ring of a matroid introduced by Braden, Huh, Matherne, Proudfoot and Wang. Along the way, we obtain a general result on augmented Chow rings (which was also independently obtained by Eur) asserting that augmented Chow rings of matroids are actually Chow rings in the sense of Feichtner and Yuzvinsky. In the last part of the paper, we study enumerative aspects of the permutahedra and the stellohedra related to these permutation bases.

We investigate analogues of alternating sign matrices, called partial alternating sign matrices. We prove bijections between these matrices and several other combinatorial objects. We use an analogue of Wieland's gyration on fully-packed loops, which we relate to the study of toggles and order ideals. Finally, we show that rowmotion on order ideals of a certain poset and gyration on partial fully-packed loop configurations are in equivariant bijection.
A Pieri type formula for motivic Chern classes of Schubert cells in Grassmannians
We prove a Pieri formula for motivic Chern classes of Schubert cells in the equivariant K-theory of Grassmannians, which is described in terms of ribbon operators on partitions. Our approach is to transform the Schubert calculus over Grassmannians to the calculation in a certain affine Hecke algebra. As a consequence, we derive a Pieri formula for Segre motivic classes of Schubert cells in Grassmannians. We apply the Pieri formulas to establish a relation between motivic Chern classes and Segre motivic classes, extending a well-known relation between the classes of structure sheaves and ideal sheaves. As another application, we find a symmetric power series representative for the class of the dualizing sheaf of a Schubert variety.
Double Dyck Path Algebra Representations From DAHA
The double Dyck path algebra $\mathbb{A}_{q,t}$ was introduced by Carlsson-Mellit in their proof of the Shuffle Theorem. A variant of this algebra, $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$, was introduced by Carlsson-Gorsky-Mellit in their study of the parabolic flag Hilbert schemes of points in $\mathbb{C}^2$ showing that $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$ acts naturally on the equivariant $K$-theory of these spaces. The algebraic relations defining $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$ appear superficially similar to those of the positive double affine Hecke algebras (DAHA) in type $GL$, $\mathscr{D}_n^{+}$, introduced by Cherednik. In this paper we provide a general method for constructing $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$ representations from DAHA representations. In particular, every $\mathscr{D}_n^{+}$ module yields a representation of a subalgebra $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}^{(n)}$ of $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$ and special families of compatible DAHA representations give representations of $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$. These constructions are functorial. Lastly, we will construct a large family of $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$ representations indexed by partitions using this method related to the Murnaghan-type representations of the positive elliptic Hall algebra introduced previously by the author.

A spline is an assignment of polynomials to the vertices of a graph whose edges are labeled by ideals, where the difference of two polynomials labeling adjacent vertices must belong to the corresponding ideal. The set of splines forms a ring. We consider spline rings where the underlying graph is the Cayley graph of a symmetric group generated by a collection of transpositions. These rings generalize the GKM construction for equivariant cohomology rings of flag, regular semisimple Hessenberg, and permutohedral varieties. These cohomology rings carry two actions of the symmetric group $S_n$ whose graded characters are both of general interest in algebraic combinatorics. In this paper, we generalize the graded $S_n$-representations from the cohomologies of the above varieties to splines on Cayley graphs of $S_n$, then (1) give explicit module and ring generators for whenever the $S_n$-generating set is minimal, (2) give a combinatorial characterization of when graded pieces of one $S_n$-representation is trivial, and (3) compute the first degree piece of both graded characters for all generating sets.

Bi-incomplete Tambara functors over a group $G$ can be understood in terms of compatible pairs of $G$-transfer systems. In the case of $G = C_{p^n}$ , Hill, Meng and Li gave a necessary and sufficient condition for compatibility and computed the exact number of compatible pairs. In this article, we study compatible pairs of $G$-transfer systems for the case $G = C_{p^rq^s}$ and identify conditions when such transfer systems are uniquely compatible in the sense that they only form trivially compatible pairs. This gives us new insight into collections of norm maps that are relevant in equivariant homotopy theory.
A Molev-Sagan type formula for double Schubert polynomials

We give a Molev-Sagan type formula for computing the product $\mathfrak{S}_u(x;y)\mathfrak{S}_v(x;z)$ of two double Schubert polynomials in different sets of coefficient variables where the descents of $u$ and $v$ satisfy certain conditions that encompass Molev and Sagan's original case and conjecture positivity in the general case. Additionally, we provide a Pieri formula for multiplying an arbitrary double Schubert polynomial $\mathfrak{S}_u(x;y)$ by a factorial elementary symmetric polynomial $E_{p,k}(x;z)$. Both formulas remain positive in terms of the negative roots when we set $y=z$, so in particular this gives a new equivariant Littlewood-Richardson rule for the Grassmannian, and more generally a positive formula for multiplying a factorial Schur polynomial $s_λ(x_1,\ldots,x_m;y)$ by a double Schubert polynomial $\mathfrak{S}_v(x_1,\ldots,x_p;y)$ such that $m\geq p$. An additional new result we present is a combinatorial proof of a conjecture of Kirillov of nonnegativity of the coefficients of skew Schubert polynomials, and we conjecture a weight-preserving bijection between a modification of certain diagrams used in our formulas and RC-graphs/pipe dreams arising in formulas for double Schubert polynomials.
Beyond Weisfeiler-Lehman: A Quantitative Framework for GNN Expressiveness
Designing expressive Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) is a fundamental topic in the graph learning community. So far, GNN expressiveness has been primarily assessed via the Weisfeiler-Lehman (WL) hierarchy. However, such an expressivity measure has notable limitations: it is inherently coarse, qualitative, and may not well reflect practical requirements (e.g., the ability to encode substructures). In this paper, we introduce a unified framework for quantitatively studying the expressiveness of GNN architectures, addressing all the above limitations. Specifically, we identify a fundamental expressivity measure termed homomorphism expressivity, which quantifies the ability of GNN models to count graphs under homomorphism. Homomorphism expressivity offers a complete and practical assessment tool: the completeness enables direct expressivity comparisons between GNN models, while the practicality allows for understanding concrete GNN abilities such as subgraph counting. By examining four classes of prominent GNNs as case studies, we derive simple, unified, and elegant descriptions of their homomorphism expressivity for both invariant and equivariant settings. Our results provide novel insights into a series of previous work, unify the landscape of different subareas in the community, and settle several open questions. Empirically, extensive experiments on both synthetic and real-world tasks verify our theory, showing that the practical performance of GNN models aligns well with the proposed metric.
Stanley decompositions of modules of covariants

Let $H$ be a complex reductive group, with finite-dimensional representations $W$ and $U$. The module of covariants for $W$ of type $U$ is the space of all $H$-equivariant polynomial maps $\varphi: W \longrightarrow U$. In this paper, we take $H$ to be one of the classical groups $\operatorname{GL}(V)$, $\operatorname{O}(V)$, or $\operatorname{Sp}(V)$, where $W$ is a direct sum of copies of $V$ and $V^*$, and $U$ is an arbitrary rational representation (with $U$ restricted to exterior powers of $V$ in the $H= \operatorname{O}(V)$ case). Our main result gives uniform Stanley decompositions of these modules of covariants, with Stanley spaces parametrized by combinatorial objects we call jellyfish. As a corollary, we write down the Hilbert series as a finite sum of rational functions, each with a combinatorial interpretation in terms of lattice paths. Notably, these results do not rely on the module being Cohen-Macaulay. We further apply our methods to invariant rings for $\operatorname{SL}(V)$ and $\operatorname{SO}(V)$. Our proofs (for $H = \operatorname{GL}(V)$ and $\operatorname{Sp}(V)$) rely on previous work by Jackson on standard monomial theory for dual reductive pairs, since classical modules of covariants can be viewed via Howe duality as Harish-Chandra modules of unitary highest weight representations of a certain real reductive group. As a first step toward extending this program to arbitrary unitary highest weight representations (including those of the exceptional groups), we establish analogous results uniformly for the Wallach representations of type ADE.
Equivariant Hilbert and Ehrhart series under translative group actions
We study representations of finite groups on Stanley--Reisner rings of simplicial complexes and on lattice points in lattice polytopes. The framework of translative group actions allows us to use the theory of proper colorings of simplicial complexes without requiring an explicit coloring to be given. We prove that the equivariant Hilbert series of a Cohen--Macaulay simplicial complex under a translative group action admits a rational expression whose numerator is a positive integer combination of irreducible characters. This implies an analogous rational expression for the equivariant Ehrhart series of a lattice polytope with a unimodular triangulation that is invariant under a translative group action. As an application, we study the equivariant Ehrhart series of alcoved polytopes in the sense of Lam and Postnikov and derive explicit results in the case of order polytopes and of Lipschitz poset polytopes.
On the $PGL_2(q)$-orbits of lines of $PG(3,q)$ and binary quartic forms
We study the problem of classifying the lines of the projective $3$-space $PG(3,q)$ over a finite field $GF(q)$ into orbits of the group $G=PGL(2,q)$ of linear symmetries of the twisted cubic $C$. A generic line neither intersects $C$ nor lies in any of its osculating planes. While the non-generic lines have been classified into $G$-orbits in literature, it has been an open problem to classify the generic lines into $G$-orbits. For a general field $F$ of characteristic different from $2$ and $3$, the twisted cubic determines a symplectic polarity on $\mathbb P^3$. In the Klein representation of lines of $\mathbb P^3$, the tangent lines of $C$ are represented by a degree $4$ rational normal curve in a hyperplane $\mathcal H$ of the second exterior power $\mathbb P^5$ of $\mathbb P^3$. Atiyah studied the lines of $\mathbb P^3$ with respect to $C$, in terms of the geometries of these two curves. Polar duality of lines on $\mathbb P^3$ corresponds to Hodge duality on $\mathbb P^5$, and $\mathcal H$ is the hyperplane of Hodge self-dual elements of $\mathbb P^5$. We show that $\mathcal H$ can be identified in a $PGL_2$-equivariant way with the space of binary quartic forms over $F$, and that pairs of polar dual lines of $\mathbb P^3$ correspond to binary quartic forms whose apolar invariant is a square. We first solve the open problem of classifying binary quartic forms over $GF(q)$ into $G$-orbits, and then use it to solve the main problem.

Stable envelopes, introduced by Maulik and Okounkov, provide a family of bases for the equivariant cohomology of symplectic resolutions. The theory of stable envelopes provides a fascinating interplay between geometry, combinatorics and integrable systems. In this expository article, we give a self-contained introduction to cohomological stable envelopes of type A bow varieties (an interesting class of varieties extending Nakajima quiver varieties). Our main focus is on the existence and the orthogonality properties of stable envelopes for bow varieties. The restriction to this specific class of varieties allows us to illustrate the theory combinatorially and to provide simplified proofs, both laying a basis for explicit calculations.
The Orbits of the Action of the Cactus Group on Arc Diagrams
The cactus group $J_n$ is the $S_n$-equivariant fundamental group of the real locus of the Deligne-Mumford moduli space of stable rational curves with marked points. This group plays the role of the braid group for the monoidal category of Kashiwara crystals attached to a simple Lie algebra. Following Frenkel, Kirillov and Varchenko, one can identify the multiplicity set in a tensor product of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-crystals with the set of arc diagrams on a disc, thus allowing a much simpler description of the corresponding $J_n$-action. We address the problem of classifying the orbits of this cactus group action. Namely, we describe some invariants of this action and show that in some (fairly general) classes of examples there are no other invariants. Furthermore, we describe some additional relations, including the braid relation, that this action places on the generators of $J_n$.

We use the equivariant cohomology ring of the permutohedral variety to study matroids and their invariants. Investigating the pushforward of matroid Chern classes defined by A. Berget, C. Eur, H. Spink and D. Tseng to the product space $\mathbb{P}^n \times \mathbb{P}^n$, we establish an equivariant generalization of the Tutte polynomial of a matroid. This was suggested in a survey paper by M.Michałek. We discuss how this polynomial encodes properties of the matroid by looking at special evaluations. We further introduce an equivariant generalization of the reduced characteristic polynomial of a matroid.
