Generic pipe dreams, lower-upper varieties, and Schwartz-MacPherson classes
We recall the lower-upper varieties from [Knutson '05] and give a formula for their equivariant cohomology classes, as a sum over generic pipe dreams. We recover as limits the classic and bumpless pipe dream formulae for double Schubert polynomials. As a byproduct, we obtain a formula for the degree of the $n$th commuting variety as a sum of powers of 2. Generic pipe dreams also appear in the Segre-Schwarz-MacPherson analogue of the AJS/Billey formula, and when computing the Chern-Schwarz-MacPherson class of the orbit $B_- w B_+ \subseteq Mat_{k\times n}$ or of a double Bruhat cell $B_-u B_+ \cap B_+ v B_-$.

The modified Macdonald functions $\widetilde{H}_μ$ are fundamental objects in modern algebraic combinatorics. Haiman showed that there is a correspondence between the $(\mathbb{C}^{*})^2$-fixed points $I_μ$ of the Hilbert schemes $\mathrm{Hilb}_{n}(\mathbb{C}^2)$ and the functions $\widetilde{H}_μ$ realizing a derived equivalence between $(\mathbb{C}^{*})^2$-equivariant coherent sheaves on $\mathrm{Hilb}_{n}(\mathbb{C}^2)$ and $(\mathfrak{S}_n \times (\mathbb{C}^{*})^2)$-equivariant coherent sheaves on $(\mathbb{C}^2)^n.$ Carlsson--Gorsky--Mellit introduced a larger family of smooth projective varieties $\mathrm{PFH}_{n,n-k}$ called the parabolic flag Hilbert schemes. They showed that an algebra $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$, directly related to the double Dyck path algebra $\mathbb{A}_{q,t}$ employed in Carlsson--Mellit's proof of the Shuffle Theorem, acts naturally on the $(\mathbb{C}^{*})^2$-equivariant K-theory $U_{\bullet}$ of these spaces and, moreover, there is a $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}$-isomorphism $Φ: U_{\bullet} \rightarrow V_{\bullet}$ where $V_{\bullet}$ is the polynomial representation. The isomorphism $Φ: U_{\bullet} \rightarrow V_{\bullet}$ is known to extend Haiman's correspondence. In this paper, we explicitly compute the images $Φ(H_{μ,w})$ of the normalized $(\mathbb{C}^{*})^2$-fixed point classes $H_{μ,w}$ of the spaces $\mathrm{PFH}_{n,n-k}$ and show they agree with the modified partially symmetric Macdonald polynomials $\widetilde{H}_{(λ|γ)}$ introduced by Goodberry-Orr, confirming their prior conjecture. We use this result to give an explicit formula for the action of the involution $\mathcal{N}$ on $V_{\bullet}.$
Oriented matroid structures on rank 3 root systems
We show that, given a rank 3 affine root system $Φ$ with Weyl group $W$, there is a unique oriented matroid structure on $Φ$ which is $W$-equivariant and restricts to the usual matroid structure on rank 2 subsystems. Such oriented matroids were called oriented matroid root systems in Dyer-Wang (2021), and are known to be non-unique in higher rank. We also show uniqueness for any finite root system or "clean" rank 3 root system (which conjecturally includes all rank 3 root systems).
Equivariant geometry of symmetric quiver orbit closures
We unify problems about the equivariant geometry of symmetric quiver representation varieties, in the finite type setting, with the corresponding problems for symmetric varieties $GL(n)/K$ where $K$ is an orthogonal or symplectic group. In particular, we translate results about singularities of orbit closures; combinatorics of orbit closure containment; and torus equivariant cohomology and K-theory between these classes of varieties. We obtain these results by constructing explicit embeddings with nice properties of homogeneous fiber bundles over type $A$ symmetric quiver representation varieties into symmetric varieties.

We study the $K$-theoretic enumerative geometry of cyclic Nakajima quiver varieties, with particular focus on $\text{Hilb}^{m}([\mathbb{C}^{2}/\mathbb{Z}_{l}])$, the equivariant Hilbert scheme of points on $\mathbb{C}^2$. The direct sum over $m$ of the equivariant $K$-theories of these varieties is known to be isomorphic to the ring symmetric functions in $l$ colors, with structure sheaves of torus fixed points identified with wreath Macdonald polynomials. Using properties of wreath Macdonald polynomials and the recent identification of the Maulik-Okounkov quantum affine algebra for cyclic quivers with the quantum toroidal algebras of type $A$, we derive an explicit formula for the generating function of capped vertex functions of $\text{Hilb}^{m}([\mathbb{C}^{2}/\mathbb{Z}_{l}])$ with descendants given by exterior powers of the $0$th tautological bundle. We also sharpen the large framing vanishing results of Okounkov, providing a class of descendants and cyclic quiver varieties for which the capped vertex functions are purely classical. Our results also suggest certain integrality and wall-crossing conjectures for capped vertex functions.
Auslander-Reiten combinatorics and $q$-characters of representations of affine quantum groups
For each simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ of simply-laced type, Hernandez and Leclerc introduced a certain category $\mathcal{C}_{\mathbb{Z}}$ of finite-dimensional representations of the quantum affine algebra of $\mathfrak{g}$, as well as certain subcategories $\mathcal{C}_{\mathbb{Z}}^{\leq ξ}$ depending on a choice of height function adapted to an orientation of the Dynkin graph of $\mathfrak{g}$. In our previous work we constructed an algebra homomorphism $\widetilde{D}_ξ$ whose domain contains the image of the Grothendieck ring of $\mathcal{C}_{\mathbb{Z}}^{\leq ξ}$ under the truncated $q$-character morphism $\widetildeχ_q$ corresponding to $ξ$. We exhibited a close relationship between the composition of $\widetilde{D}_ξ$ with $\widetildeχ_q$ and the morphism $\overline{D}$ recently introduced by Baumann, Kamnitzer and Knutson in their study of the equivariant homology of Mirković-Vilonen cycles. In this paper, we extend $\widetilde{D}_ξ$ in order to investigate its composition with Frenkel-Reshetikhin's original $q$-character morphism. Our main result consists in proving that the $q$-characters of all standard modules in $\mathcal{C}_{\mathbb{Z}}$ lie in the kernel of $\widetilde{D}_ξ$. This provides a large family of new non-trivial rational identities suggesting possible geometric interpretations.
Jack combinatorics of the equivariant edge measure
We study the equivariant edge measure: a measure on partitions which arises implicitly in the edge term in the localization computation of the Donaldson-Thomas invariants of a toric threefold. We combinatorially show that the equivariant edge measure is, up to choices of convention, equal to the Jack-Plancherel measure.

Given integers $n \geq k \geq d$, let $X_{n,k,d}$ be the moduli space of $n$-tuples of lines $(\ell_1, \dots, \ell_n)$ in $\mathbb{C}^k$ such that $\ell_1 + \cdots + \ell_n$ has dimension $d$. We give a quotient presentation of the torus-equivariant cohomology of $X_{n,k,d}$. The form of this presentation, and in particular the torus parameters appearing therein, will arise from the orbit harmonics method of combinatorial deformation theory.
Hikita conjecture for classical Lie algebras
Let $G$ be $Sp_{2n}$, $SO_{2n}$ or $SO_{2n+1}$ and let $G^\vee$ be its Langlands dual group. Barbasch and Vogan based on earlier work of Lusztig and Spaltenstein, define a duality map $D$ that sends nilpotent orbits $\mathbb{O}_{e^\vee} \subset \mathfrak{g}^\vee$ to special nilpotent orbits $\mathbb{O}_e\subset \mathfrak{g}$. In a work by Losev, Mason-Brown and Matvieievskyi, an upgraded version $\tilde{D}$ of this duality is considered, called the refined BVLS duality. $\tilde{D}(\mathbb{O}_{e^\vee})$ is a $G$-equivariant cover $\tilde{\mathbb{O}}_e$ of $\mathbb{O}_e$. Let $S_{e^\vee}$ be the nilpotent Slodowy slice of the orbit $\mathbb{O}_{e^\vee}$. The two varieties $X^\vee= S_{e^\vee}$ and $X=$ Spec$(\mathbb{C}[\tilde{\mathbb{O}}_e])$ are expected to be symplectic dual to each other. In this context, a version of the Hikita conjecture predicts an isomorphism between the cohomology ring of the Springer fiber $\mathcal{B}_{e^\vee}$ and the ring of regular functions on the scheme-theoretic fixed point $X^T$ for some torus $T$. This paper verifies the isomorphism for certain pairs $e$ and $e^\vee$. These cases are expected to cover almost all instances in which the Hikita conjecture holds when $e^\vee$ regular in a Levi $\mathfrak{l}^\vee\subset \mathfrak{g}^\vee$. Our results in these cases follow from the relations of three different types of objects: generalized coinvariant algebras, equivariant cohomology rings, and functions on scheme-theoretic intersections. We also give evidence for the Hikita conjecture when $e^\vee$ is distinguished.
Fixed point counts and motivic invariants of bow varieties of affine type A
We compute the equivariant K-theory of torus fixed points of Cherkis bow varieties of affine type A. We deduce formulas for the generating series of the Euler numbers of these varieties and observe their modularity in certain cases. We also obtain refined formulas on the motivic level for a class of bow varieties strictly containing Nakajima quiver varieties. These series hence generalise results of Nakajima-Yoshioka. As a special case, we obtain formulas for certain Zastava spaces. We define a parabolic analogue of Nekrasov's partition function and find an equation relating it to the classical partition function.

For given linear action of a finite group on a lattice and a positive integer q, we prove that the mod q permutation representation is a quasi-polynomial in q. Additionally, we establish several results that can be considered as mod q-analogues of results by Stapledon for equivariant Ehrhart quasi-polynomials. We also prove a reciprocity-type result for multiplicities of irreducible decompositions.
Orbital categories and weak indexing systems
We initiate the combinatorial study of the poset $\mathrm{wIndex}_{\mathcal{T}}$ of weak $\mathcal{T}$-indexing systems, consisting of composable collections of arities for $\mathcal{T}$-equivariant algebraic structures, where $\mathcal{T}$ is an orbital $\infty$-category, such as the orbit category of a finite group. In particular, we show that these are equivalent to weak $\mathcal{T}$-indexing categories and characterize various unitality conditions.
Within this sits a natural generalization $\mathrm{Index}_{\mathcal{T}} \subset \mathrm{wIndex}_{\mathcal{T}}$ of Blumberg-Hill's indexing systems, consisting of arities for structures possessing binary operations and unit elements. We characterize the relationship between the posets of unital weak indexing systems and indexing systems, the latter remaining isomorphic to transfer systems on this level of generality. We use this to characterize the poset of unital $C_{p^n}$-weak indexing systems.

The Tverberg--Vrećica conjecture claims a broad generalization of Tverberg's classical theorem. One of its consequences, the central transversal theorem, extends both the centerpoint theorem and the ham sandwich theorem. In this manuscript, we establish complex analogues of these results, where the corresponding transversals are complex affine spaces. The proofs of the complex Tverberg--Vrećica conjecture and its optimal colorful version rely on the non-vanishing of an equivariant Euler class. Furthermore, we obtain new Borsuk--Ulam-type theorems on complex Stiefel manifolds. These theorems yield complex analogues of recent extensions of the ham sandwich theorem for mass assignments by Axelrod-Freed and Soberón, and provide a direct proof of the complex central transversal theorem.

We study the torus equivariant K-homology ring of the affine Grassmannian $\mathrm{Gr}_G$ where $G$ is a connected reductive linear algebraic group. In type $A$, we introduce equivariantly deformed symmetric functions called the K-theoretic double $k$-Schur functions as the Schubert bases. The functions are constructed by Demazure operators acting on equivariant parameters. As an application, we provide a Ginzburg-Peterson type realization of the torus-equivariant K-homology ring of $\mathrm{Gr}_{{SL}_n}$ as the coordinate ring of a centralizer family for $PGL_n(\mathbb{C})$.
Equivariant $γ$-positivity of Chow rings and augmented Chow rings of matroids
In this paper, we prove the Chow ring and augmented Chow ring of a matroid is equivariant $γ$-positivity under the action of any group of automorphisms of the matroid. This verifies a conjecture of Angarone, Nathanson, and Reiner. Our method gives an explicit interpretation to the coefficients of the equivariant $γ$-expansion. Applying our theorem to uniform matroids, we extend and recover known results regarding the positivity of the equivariant Charney-Davis quantity of uniform matroids in the author's previous work and the Schur-$γ$-positivity of Eulerian and binomial Eulerian quasisymmetric functions first proved by Shareshian and Wachs. In the end, we answer a problem proposed by Athanasiadis about extending the $γ$-expansion of the binomial Eulerian polynomial.
Puzzle Ideals for Grassmannians
Puzzles are a versatile combinatorial tool to interpret the Littlewood-Richardson coefficients for Grassmannians. In this paper, we propose the concept of puzzle ideals whose varieties one-one correspond to the tilings of puzzles and present an algebraic framework to construct the puzzle ideals which works with the Knutson-Tao-Woodward puzzle and its $T$-equivariant and $K$-theoretic variants for Grassmannians. For puzzles for which one side is free, we propose the side-free puzzle ideals whose varieties one-one correspond to the tilings of side-free puzzles, and the elimination ideals of the side-free puzzle ideals contain all the information of the structure constants for Grassmannians with respect to the free side.
Besides the underlying algebraic importance of the introduction of these puzzle ideals is the computational feasibility to find all the tilings of the puzzles for Grassmannians by solving the defining polynomial systems, demonstrated with illustrative puzzles via computation of Gröbner bases.

We continue the study of the $k$-cut complex $Δ_k(G)$ of a graph $G$ initiated in the paper of Bayer, Denker, Jelić Milutinović, Rowlands, Sundaram and Xue [Topology of cut complexes of graphs, SIAM J. on Discrete Math. 38(2): 1630--1675 (2024)].
We give explicit formulas for the $f$- and $h$-polynomials of the cut complex $Δ_k(G_1+G_2) $ of the disjoint union of two graphs $G_1$ and $G_2$, and for the homology representation of $Δ_k(K_m+K_n)$.
We also study the cut complex of the squared path and the grid graph. Our techniques include tools from combinatorial topology, discrete Morse theory and equivariant poset topology.
From Cherednik algebras to knot homology via cuspidal D-modules
We show that the triply-graded Khovanov-Rozansky homology of the $(m,n)$ torus knot can be recovered from the finite-dimensional representation $\mathrm{L}_{m/n}$ of the rational Cherednik algebra at slope $m/n$, endowed with the Hodge filtration coming from the cuspidal character D-module. Our approach involves expressing the associated graded of the cuspidal character D-module in terms of a dg module closely related to the action of the shuffle algebra on the equivariant K-theory of the Hilbert scheme of points on the plane, thereby proving the rational master conjecture. As a corollary, we identify the Hodge filtration with the inductive and algebraic filtrations on $\mathrm{L}_{m/n}$.

We study the Hilbert series and the representations of $\mathfrak{S}_n$ and $GL_n(\mathbb{F}_q)$ on the (augmented) Chow rings of uniform matroids $U_{r,n}$ and $q$-uniform matroids $U_{r,n}(q)$. The Frobenius series for uniform matroids and their $q$-analogs are computed. As a byproduct, we recover Hameister, Rao, and Simpson's formula for the Hilbert series of Chow rings of $q$-uniform matroids in terms of permutations and further obtain their augmented counterpart in terms of decorated permutations.
We also show that the equivariant Charney--Davis quantity of the (augmented) Chow ring of a matroid is nonnegative (i.e., a genuine representation of a group of automorphisms of the matroid). When the matroid is a uniform matroid and the group is $\mathfrak{S}_n$, the representation either vanishes or is a Foulkes representation (i.e., a Specht module of a ribbon shape). Specializing to the usual Charney--Davis quantities, we obtain an elegant combinatorial interpretation of Hameister, Rao, and Simpson's formula for Chow rings of $q$-uniform matroids and its augmented counterpart.

We study equivariant Kazhdan--Lusztig (KL) and $Z$-polynomials of matroids. We formulate an equivariant generalization of a result by Braden and Vysogorets that relates the equivariant KL and $Z$-polynomials of a matroid with those of a single-element deletion. We also discuss the failure of equivariant $γ$-positivity for the $Z$-polynomial. As an application of our main result, we obtain a formula for the equivariant KL polynomial of the graphic matroid gotten by gluing two cycles. Furthermore, we compute the equivariant KL polynomials of all matroids of corank~$2$ via valuations. This provides an application of the machinery of Elias, Miyata, Proudfoot, and Vecchi to corank $2$ matroids, and it extends results of Ferroni and Schröter.
