We prove a strong factorization property of interpolation Macdonald polynomials when $q$ tends to $1$. As a consequence, we show that Macdonald polynomials have a strong factorization property when $q$ tends to $1$, which was posed as an open question in our previous paper with Féray. Furthermore, we introduce multivariate $q,t$-Kostka numbers and we show that they are polynomials in $q,t$ with integer coefficients by using the strong factorization property of Macdonald polynomials. We conjecture that multivariate $q,t$-Kostka numbers are in fact polynomials in $q,t$ with nonnegative integer coefficients, which generalizes the celebrated Macdonald's positivity conjecture.

The Schur functions in superspace $s_Λ$ and $\bar s_Λ$ are the limits $q=t=0$ and $q=t=\infty$ respectively of the Macdonald polynomials in superspace. We prove Pieri rules for the bases $s_Λ$ and $\bar s_Λ$ (which happen to be essentially dual). As a consequence, we derive the basic properties of these bases such as dualities, monomial expansions, and tableaux generating functions.

We introduce the notion of generalized Weyl modules for twisted current algebras. We study their representation-theoretic and combinatorial properties and connection to the theory of nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials. We prove a Macdonald polynomial analogue of the celebrated Nekrasov-Okounkov hook-length formula from the theory of random partitions. As an application we obtain a proof of one of the main conjectures of Hausel and Rodriguez-Villegas from their work on mixed Hodge polynomials of the moduli space of stable Higgs bundles on Riemann surfaces.

In recent work, Elias and Hogancamp develop a recurrence for the Poincaré series of the triply graded Hochschild homology of certain links, one of which is the $(n,n)$ torus link. In this case, Elias and Hogancamp give a combinatorial formula for this homology that is reminiscent of the combinatorics of the modified Macdonald polynomial eigenoperator $\nabla$. We give a combinatorial formula for the homologies of all links considered by Elias and Hogancamp. Our first formula is not easily computable, so we show how to transform it into a computable version. Finally, we conjecture a direct relationship between the $(n,n)$ torus link case of our formula and the symmetric function $\nabla p_{1^n}$.

We introduce a new family of symmetric multivariate polynomials, whose coefficients are meromorphic functions of two parameters $(q,t)$ and polynomial in a further two parameters $(u,v)$. We evaluate these polynomials explicitly as a matrix product. At $u=v=0$ they reduce to Macdonald polynomials, while at $q=0$, $u=v=s$ they recover a family of inhomogeneous symmetric functions originally introduced by Borodin.

We introduce generalized global Weyl modules and relate their graded characters to nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials and nonsymmetric $q$-Whittaker functions. In particular, we show that the series part of the nonsymmetric $q$-Whittaker function is a generating function for the graded characters of generalized global Weyl modules.

The non-commutative five-term relation $T_{1,0} T_{0,1} = T_{0,1} T_{1,1} T_{1,0}$ is shown to hold for certain operators acting on symmetric functions. The "generalized recursion" conjecture of Bergeron and Haiman is a corollary of this result.

We extend the family non-symmetric Macdonald polynomials and define general-basement Macdonald polynomials. We show that these also satisfy a triangularity property with respect to the monomials bases and behave well under the Demazure-Lusztig operators.
The symmetric Macdonald polynomials $J_λ$ are expressed as a sum of general-basement Macdonald polynomials via an explicit formula.
By letting $q=0$, we obtain $t$-deformations of key polynomials and Demazure atoms and we show that the Hall--Littlewood polynomials expand positively into these. This generalizes a result by Haglund, Luoto, Mason and van Willigenburg.
As a corollary, we prove that Schur polynomials decompose with non-negative coefficients into $t$-deformations of general Demazure atoms and thus generalizing the $t=0$ case which was previously known. This gives a unified formula for the classical expansion of Schur polynomials in Hall-Littlewood polynomials and the expansion of Schur polynomials into Demazure atoms.

We present a new, explicit sum formula for symmetric Macdonald polynomials $P_λ$ and show that they can be written as a trace over a product of (infinite dimensional) matrices. These matrices satisfy the Zamolodchikov--Faddeev (ZF) algebra. We construct solutions of the ZF algebra from a rank-reduced version of the Yang--Baxter algebra. As a corollary, we find that the normalization of the stationary measure of the multi-species asymmetric exclusion process is a Macdonald polynomial with all variables set equal to one.
A proof of the Square Paths Conjecture
The modified Macdonald polynomials, introduced by Garsia and Haiman (1996), have many astounding combinatorial properties. One such class of properties involves applying the related $\nabla$ operator of Bergeron and Garsia (1999) to basic symmetric functions. The first discovery of this type was the (recently proven) Shuffle Conjecture of Haglund, Haiman, Loehr, Remmel, and Ulyanov (2005), which relates the expression $\nabla e_n$ to parking functions. In (2007), Loehr and Warrington conjectured a similar expression for $\nabla p_n$ in terms of labeled square paths. In this paper, we extend Haglund and Loehr's (2005) notion of schedules to labeled square paths and apply this extension to prove the Square Paths Conjecture.
Generalized Weyl modules, alcove paths and Macdonald polynomials
Classical local Weyl modules for a simple Lie algebra are labeled by dominant weights. We generalize the definition to the case of arbitrary weights and study the properties of the generalized modules. We prove that the representation theory of the generalized Weyl modules can be described in terms of the alcove paths and the quantum Bruhat graph. We make use of the Orr-Shimozono formula in order to prove that the $t=\infty$ specializations of the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials are equal to the characters of certain generalized Weyl modules.

In previous work, the first and third authors introduced staircase tableaux, which they used to give combinatorial formulas for the stationary distribution of the asymmetric simple exclusion process (ASEP) and for the moments of the Askey-Wilson weight function. The fact that the ASEP and Askey-Wilson moments are related at all is quite surprising, and is due to Uchiyama-Sasamoto-Wadati. The ASEP is a model of particles hopping on a one-dimensional lattice of N sites with open boundaries, particles can enter and exit at both left and right borders. It was introduced around 1970 and is cited as a model for both traffic flow and translation in protein synthesis. Meanwhile, the Askey-Wilson polynomials are a family of orthogonal polynomials in one variable, they sit at the top of the hierarchy of classical orthogonal polynomials. So we have the relationship
ASEP -- staircase tableaux -- Askey-Wilson moments
It is well-known that Askey-Wilson polynomials can be viewed as the one-variable case of the multivariate Koornwinder polynomials, also known as the Macdonald polynomials for the type BC root system. It is natural then to ask whether one can generalize the relationships among the ASEP, Askey-Wilson moments, and staircase tableaux, in such a way that Koornwinder moments replace Askey-Wilson moments. In a recent work, we demonstrated a close connection between Koornwinder moments and the two-species ASEP (a particle model involving two species of particles with different "weights"). In this article we introduce rhombic staircase tableaux, and show that we have the relationship
2-species ASEP -- rhombic staircase tableaux -- Koornwinder moments
In particular, we give formulas for the steady state distribution of the two-species ASEP and for Koornwinder moments, in terms of rhombic staircase tableaux.
A weighted sum over generalized Tesler matrices

We generalize previous definitions of Tesler matrices to allow negative matrix entries and negative hook sums. Our main result is an algebraic interpretation of a certain weighted sum over these matrices, which we call the Tesler function. Our interpretation uses a new class of symmetric function specializations which are defined by their values on Macdonald polynomials. As a result of this interpretation, we obtain a Tesler function expression for the Hall inner product $\langle Δ_f e_n, p_{1^{n}}\rangle$, where $Δ_f$ is the delta operator introduced by Bergeron, Garsia, Haiman, and Tesler. We also provide simple formulas for various special cases of Tesler functions which involve $q,t$-binomial coefficients, ordered set partitions, and parking functions. These formulas prove two cases of the recent Delta Conjecture posed by Haglund, Remmel, and the author.

We conjecture two combinatorial interpretations for the symmetric function $Δ_{e_k} e_n$, where $Δ_f$ is an eigenoperator for the modified Macdonald polynomials defined by Bergeron, Garsia, Haiman, and Tesler. Both interpretations can be seen as generalizations of the Shuffle Conjecture of Haglund, Haiman, Remmel, Loehr, and Ulyanov, which was proved recently by Carlsson and Mellit. We show how previous work of the third author on Tesler matrices and ordered set partitions can be used to verify several cases of our conjectures. Furthermore, we use a reciprocity identity and LLT polynomials to prove another case. Finally, we show how our conjectures inspire 4-variable generalizations of the Catalan numbers, extending work of Garsia, Haiman, and the first author.

An extension of MacMahon's Equidistribution Theorem to ordered multiset partitions

A classical result of MacMahon states that inversion number and major index have the same distribution over permutations of a given multiset. In this work we prove a strengthening of this theorem originally conjectured by Haglund. Our result can be seen as an equidistribution theorem over the ordered partitions of a multiset into sets, which we call ordered multiset partitions. Our proof is bijective and involves a new generalization of Carlitz's insertion method. This generalization leads to a new extension of Macdonald polynomials for hook shapes. We use our main theorem to show that these polynomials are symmetric and we give their Schur expansion.

The main goal of our paper is to establish a connection between the Weyl modules of the current Lie superalgebras (twisted and untwisted) attached to $\mathfrak{osp}(1,2)$ and the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials of types $A_2^{(2)}$ and $A_2^{(2)\dagger}$. We compute the dimensions and construct bases of the Weyl modules. We also derive explicit formulas for the t=0 and t=\infty specializations of the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials. We show that the specializations can be described in terms of the Lie superalgebras action on the Weyl modules.

We derive an explicit sum formula for symmetric Macdonald polynomials. Our expression contains multiple sums over the symmetric group and uses the action of Hecke generators on the ring of polynomials. In the special cases $t=1$ and $q=0$, we recover known expressions for the monomial symmetric and Hall-Littlewood polynomials, respectively. Other specializations of our formula give new expressions for the Jack and $q$-Whittaker polynomials.

We describe a method, based on the theory of Macdonald-Koornwinder polynomials, for proving bounded Littlewood identities. Our approach provides an alternative to Macdonald's partial fraction technique and results in the first examples of bounded Littlewood identities for Macdonald polynomials. These identities, which take the form of decomposition formulas for Macdonald polynomials of type $(R,S)$ in terms of ordinary Macdonald polynomials, are $q,t$-analogues of known branching formulas for characters of the symplectic, orthogonal and special orthogonal groups. In the classical limit, our method implies that MacMahon's famous ex-conjecture for the generating function of symmetric plane partitions in a box follows from the identification of $(\mathrm{GL}(n,\mathbb{R}),\mathrm{O}(n))$ as a Gelfand pair. As further applications, we obtain combinatorial formulas for characters of affine Lie algebras; Rogers-Ramanujan identities for affine Lie algebras, complementing recent results of Griffin et al.; and quadratic transformation formulas for Kaneko--Macdonald-type basic hypergeometric series.
