Quantizing Delsarte Theory
We develop Delsarte theory for quantum association schemes, allowing both composition and the quantum Schur product to be noncommutative. A MacWilliams identity and positivity of the inner and dual distributions yield conic upper bounds for codes and lower bounds for designs in terms of effective size, which extends subset cardinality. These bounds recover classical linear programs for symmetric association schemes and semidefinite programs for homogeneous coherent configurations. We also quantize Schurian schemes using finite-group representations and characterize quantum block designs in quantum Johnson schemes arising from irreducible stabilizer representations by averaging over subgroups fixing prescribed points individually. In a quantum Johnson scheme on $M_2(\mathbb{C})^{\oplus10}$, we prove that the minimum effective size of a nonzero positive element satisfying the strength-two design condition is $20$, attained by complementary projections outside the center of the underlying algebra. Every such element in the center has effective size $40$, while the conic lower bound is $40/3$, strictly below the actual minimum.

The effect of edge deletion on noncommutative distances on graphs
For a Dirac operator $D$ on a finite weighted graph, let $d^D$ denote the associated noncommutative (Connes) distance. We show that deleting an edge can actually decrease the noncommutative distance between two vertices in the graph. The smallest example of this phenomenon comes from a weighted 4-cycle, and the case of deleting an edge from a weighted 4-cycle is determined completely: if $d^{D'}$ denotes the noncommutative distance in the graph after edge deletion, we prove that $\sup d^D/d^{D'} = 2/\sqrt{3}$ for the $4$-cycle, and further that this upper bound holds for all graphs. On the other hand, we show that deleting an edge can decrease the noncommutative distance between two vertices of an $n$-cycle precisely when $n$ is divisible by $4$. In cases when a deleted edge decreases the noncommutative distance between two vertices $x$ and $y$, we show that the deleted edge need not be incident to either of the vertices $x$ or $y$, and in fact the deleted edge can be arbitrarily far from both in the graph-theoretic (number of edges) distance and in the weighted (geodesic) distance. Moreover, deletion of a single vertex arbitrarily far from both $x$ and $y$ in either the graph-theoretic or weighted distance can change $d^D(x,y)$ by an arbitrarily large factor.

Submodularity of entropy under quantum convolution
We develop a submodular framework for the von Neumann entropy of discrete quantum convolutions, providing a noncommutative counterpart to the direct side of entropic additive combinatorics. We first introduce globally weighted quantum convolutions, which form compatible families indexed by admissible subsets of a fixed collection of inputs. Our main theorem reveals a polymatroidal geometry underlying their entropy growth: relative to any fixed admissible input block, the entropy gains admit a normalized, monotone, submodular extension to all subsets of the remaining inputs. The theorem yields convolutional strong subadditivity, quantum Ruzsa triangle inequality, and quantum entropic Plünnecke--Ruzsa inequalities for arbitrary input states. For repeated inputs, it gives sharp comparisons of entropy growth across admissible scales; in particular, the quantum doubling constant controls all higher admissible convolution entropies with optimal exponents. Together, these results bring submodular methods from additive combinatorics into the quantum setting and provide a systematic route to broad families of convolutional entropy inequalities.

A quasisymmetric analog of Grassmannian Schubert varieties
We show that the cohomology rings of toric Richardson varieties in the Grassmannian are finite truncations of the ring of quasisymmetric functions. We exhibit an affine paving of each such variety whose cell closures give rise to the basis of fundamental quasisymmetric functions. We similarly interpret the homology of these varieties in terms of the ring of noncommutative symmetric functions and show that the expansion of the homological class of any torus-invariant subvariety into the affine paving basis agrees with the expansion of a corresponding generalized noncommutative ribbon function into the ribbon basis. By taking the direct limit of all toric Richardson varieties, we obtain an ind-variety equipped with a weak $H$-group structure whose cohomology is the Hopf algebra of quasisymmetric functions. We conjecture that it is isomorphic to a similar $H$-group constructed by Baker--Richter. As a byproduct, we deduce that the $f$-vectors of shard polytopes are log-concave, making the first progress on a question of Ferroni--Schröter for matroid base polytopes.
Combinatorial Hopf algebras in noncommutative probabilility
We prove that the generalized moment-cumulant relations introduced in [arXiv:1711.00219] are given by the action of the Eulerian idempotents on the Solomon-Tits algebras, whose direct sum builds up the Hopf algebra of Word Quasi-Symmetric Functions $\WQSym$. We prove $t$-analogues of these identities (in which the coefficient of $t$ gives back the original version), and a similar $t$-analogue of Goldberg's formula for the coefficients of the Hausdorff series. This amounts to the determination of the action of all the Eulerian idempotents on a product of exponentials.

On integral polytopes related to Edmonds' problem
In this paper, we study polyhedral aspects on commutative and noncommutative Edmonds' problems for computing the rank of linear symbolic matrix $A = \sum_{k=1}^m A_k x_k$. We regard them as linear optimization over integral polytopes ${\cal P}(A)$ and ${\cal Q}(A)$, respectively, which are obtained by the convex hulls of exponent vectors of subdeterminants of~$A$ and its blow-ups $A^{\{d\}} = \sum_{k=1}^m A_k \otimes X_k$ $(d=1,2,\ldots)$. By extending previously known results on nc-rank, we establish a hierarchy of integral polytopes ${\cal P}(A) \subseteq {\cal P}^{\leq 2}(A) \subseteq {\cal P}^{\leq 3}(A) \subseteq \cdots = {\cal Q}(A)$ and show that the integrality gap of ${\cal Q}(A)$ relative to ${\cal P}(A)$ is at least $1/2$. Further, we show that if each $A_k$ is rank-2 skew-symmetric, then the above hierarchy terminates at the second level and the integrality gap is improved to $2/3$.

From one generator to loop order on the three-cube
We study the monoid $\mathcal W$ of based closed walks on the $1$-skeleton of the three-dimensional cube $Q_3$. The fundamental group of this graph is the free group $F_5$. We prove that every additive one-step reading, given by a sum of edge weights in an abelian group, factors through the directed transition counts, and we exhibit two closed walks with equal transition counts and different reduced loop words. Hence commutative aggregation does not determine the reduced loop word. The reduced loop word gives a proper noncommutative recognition quotient. We also determine the shortest closed walk with trivial abelianization but nontrivial degree-two commutator information. Its minimum length in the cube edge metric is $14$. We also obtain a separation between finite and unbounded memory. A two-state reading separates an order pair, while for every $k\geq1$, there is an explicit factorial pair which no $k$-state reading separates. An unbounded stack recovers the reduced loop word on every walk. For integer-valued functions on the vertex set, potential readings vanish on closed walks, while occupation binding is not rectangular. More generally, every occupation-based constraint is rectangular on a class of histories if and only if the occupation vector is constant on that class. Finally, a declared quarter-turn quaternion clock gives a second proper order-sensitive congruence, incomparable with the reduced-word quotient. The obstruction to commutative recovery, and the minimum $14$, remain valid on every hypercube $Q_n$, $n\geq3$.

Schur positivity of the spiders $S(a,2,1)$ and $S(a,4,1)$ via noncommutative symmetric functions
We prove that the spider graphs $S(a,2,1)$ and $S(a,4,1)$ are Schur positive for all integers $a\ge1$. Together with the known $e$-positivity results, this completes the $e$- and Schur-positivity classification of both families. Our approach uses noncommutative symmetric functions, including a particularly simple ribbon expansion for the path lift with coefficients given by powers of two. We give a new proof of the Shareshian--Wachs path formula at $t=1$ and construct corresponding lifts for spiders. The Littlewood--Richardson rule converts their ribbon expansions into a general Schur-coefficient formula in terms of weighted Yamanouchi words. Mass-preserving multi-injections and a reduction to finitely many inequalities in degree $10$ then prove the required positivity; exact computer verification of these inequalities completes the proof in full generality.
Noncommutative Cluster Varieties and Moduli Spaces of Local Systems
In this article, we construct noncommutative cluster varieties, $\mathcal{A}_{R,S}$, for each reduced root system $R$ and marked surface $S$ simultaneously generalizing the cluster varieties of Fock-Goncharov, Li, Goncharov-Shen, Berenstein-Retakh, Goncharov-Kontsevich, and our previously introduced polygonal cluster algebras. Additionally, we define a large class of algebraic groups, we call Jordan split groups. Given a reduced root system $R$ and a family of Jordan algebras, the Lie algebra for $G$ is constructed by unifying the Tits-Kantor-Koecher construction for a single Jordan algebra with the construction of a split Lie algebra. The notion of Jordan split groups is closely related to a grading of its Lie algebra by the root system $R$. We show that these gradings are usually induced by a choice of standard parabolic subalgebra $\mathfrak{p}_Θ$ and we classify $R$-graded pairs $(G,Θ)$ via a condition depending only on the subset $Θ\subset Δ$ of the set of simple roots. Next, we define Jordan algebra points of $\mathcal{A}_{R,S}$ which parameterize $G$-local systems on $S$ with boundary decoration related to cosets $G/U_Θ$ when $G$ is Jordan split of type $R$. When $S$ is a disk, points of $\mathcal{A}_{R,S}$ parameterize configurations of decorated flags. We use this to give noncommutative cluster structures on the double $R$-Bruhat cells of $G$, generalizing the cluster algebras of Berenstein-Fomin-Zelevinsky. When each Jordan algebra is formally real, we say that $G$ has a positive structure with respect to $Θ$. This defines a positive semigroup in $G$. For real algebraic groups, the pairs $(G,Θ)$ which have positive structures are exactly those which admit a positive structure as defined by Guichard-Wienhard and we give algebraic proofs of many of the properties of positive configurations of flags and of positive representations.

Higher cluster tilting objects in locally finite triangulated categories
We study higher cluster tilting objects through covering functors from derived categories of hereditary algebras. The covering formalism reduces the existence problem to the equivariant problem of finding \(G\)-stable \(d\)-cluster tilting objects in \(d\)-cluster categories. For triangulated categories with finitely many indecomposable objects this gives a complete ADE existence criterion and explicit counting formulas. We also prove that, in finite Frobenius models, the endomorphism algebras of all \(d\)-cluster tilting objects are derived equivalent. Applications are given to Cohen--Macaulay finite categories, finite noncommutative crepant resolutions, and rigidity dimensions of representation-finite self-injective algebras.

Various Bialgebras Of Representative Functions On Free Monoids
Factorization and decomposition of representative functions on a free monoid X * (generated by an alphabet X ) and with values in a ring A containing Q are equivalent to factorization and decomposition of their graphs (within the A-algebra of rational noncommutative series over X ) admitting linear representations (thanks to the Kleene-Sch{ü}tzenberger theorem). To factorize and to decompose effectively these graphs, we examine various products of noncommutative series (as concatenation, shuffle and its $φ$deformations) and co-products such that, for A is a field K, their associated non graded commutative and co-noncommutative bialgebras of series are isomorphic to the Sweedler's dual of the graded noncommutative co-commutative bialgebras of polynomials having, for the concatenation, only Kleene stars of the planes as characters, or equivalently, only the planes are infinitesimal characters (thanks to a Ree's theorem like).

Quantum determinants in polynomial time
We give an algebraic branching program of polynomial size which computes Cayley determinant of right quantum matrices. This is a rare example of an efficient computation of a noncommutative determinant, and the first such example for quantum groups. We extend the results to the $q$-Cayley determinant of $q$-right quantum matrices, as well as to their multiparameter generalization. The proofs are entirely combinatorial, as we relate Cayley, Moore and Valiant determinants using bijections/involutions on words. We then employ the celebrated determinant construction of Mahajan and Vinay (SODA'97), to obtain the results.

Record compositions of alternating permutations and noncommutative symmetric functions
Amdeberhan, Shareshian, and Stanley recently proved that a function $\varphi$ arising in the theory of partition Eisenstein series counts the alternating permutations of $\{1,\dots,2n\}$ with a given `record' partition, and they asked whether there is a similar theory for record compositions, suggesting a role for noncommutative symmetric functions. Here we solve their open problem by showing that the number of alternating permutations of $\{1,\dots,2n\}$ with record composition $(α_1,\dots,α_\ell)$ is \[ \prod_{j=1}^{\ell}\binom{2s_j-1}{2α_j-1}E_{2α_j-1}, \] where $s_j=α_1+\dots+α_j$, $E_k$ is an Euler number, and the record composition of $w=a_1a_2\dots a_{2n}$ (so $a_1>a_2<a_3>\dotsb$) lists the factor lengths obtained by cutting $a_1a_3\dots a_{2n-1}$ before each left-to-right maximum other than the first. These numbers are the coefficients of a natural lift of the degree-$n$ sprout symmetric function with seed $\sec(\sqrt{t}\,)$ to noncommutative symmetric functions, expanded in products of noncommutative power sums of the first kind. An analogous refinement holds for every sprout sequence whose seed is given by the exponential formula. AxiomProver autonomously produced and verified the results in this paper in Lean.

Normal ordering in the $(p,q)$-deformed generalized Weyl algebra. III: The binomial formula
We study the $(p, q)$-deformed generalized Weyl algebra generated by variables $X, Y$ and $Z_p$ satisfying the $(p, q)$-commutation relations $XY-qYX=h Y^sZ_{p}, XZ_p=pZ_pX$, and $Z_pY=pYZ_p$, with $s\in \mathbb{N}_0$. Within this framework, we investigate the noncommutative binomial formula $(X+Y)^n$ and related identities. In particular, we show how the associated normal ordering coefficients can be expressed in terms of $(p,q)$-deformed $s$-rook numbers. We treat several special cases explicitly, recovering known results from literature as well as deriving new ones.

The planar Hopf algebra of noncommutative multi-indices
We construct the planar Linares--Otto--Tempelmayr Hopf algebra, thereby filling the missing planar noncommutative multi-index corner in the square relating the LOT, Butcher--Connes--Kreimer, and Munthe-Kaas--Wright Hopf algebras. Starting from the free associative algebra on a weighted alphabet $\mathbb Z_{\ge -1}\times A$, we define an insertion-type product yielding a post-Lie structure on the Lie algebra generated by the linear span $V(A)$ of weight $-1$ monomials whose proper left prefixes all have nonnegative weight, and the Guin--Oudom construction then produces the planar LOT Hopf algebra. We introduce a planar tree fertility map from decorated planar rooted trees to monomials in $V(A)$, prove that it is a linear isomorphism, and obtain a natural Hopf algebra isomorphism with the Munthe-Kaas--Wright Hopf algebra. We further derive an explicit coproduct formula in terms of left-admissible cuts, establish the extraction-contraction coproduct, and construct a word symmetrization operator compatible with the classical tree symmetrization operator.

Hall-Littlewood functions in noncommuting variables
In 2022 Aliniaeifard, Li, and van Willigenburg defined Schur functions in the algebra of symmetric functions in noncommuting variables (NCSym), answering an open question posed by Rosas and Sagan in 2004. These Schur functions are not monomial positive, since they are defined via a noncommutative analogue of the Jacobi-Trudi determinant. We introduce Hall-Littlewood functions ${\bf P}_π({\bf x};t)$ indexed by set partitions $π$ in noncommuting variables ${\bf x}=({\bf x}_1,{\bf x}_2,\ldots)$, and define Schur functions in noncommuting variables to be ${\bf s}_π({\bf x})={\bf P}_π({\bf x};0)$. We prove that the set of Hall-Littlewood functions $\{{\bf P}_π({\bf x};t)\}$ for all set partitions $π$ of $[n]$ forms a $\mathbb{Q}[t]$-basis of NCSym of homogeneous degree $n$, and that this basis is invariant under any permutation acting on set partitions. These Hall-Littlewood functions in NCSym map to classical Hall-Littlewood functions under commutation, up to a scalar factor. We also show that the Hall-Littlewood functions ${\bf P}_π({\bf x};t)$ naturally refine the lifted Hall-Littlewood functions in NCSym. Specifically, the Schur functions ${\bf s}_π({\bf x})$ are monomial positive and refine the lifted Schur function introduced by Rosas and Sagan. Moreover, we introduce a star product of two polynomials in NCSym and develop the star-multiplication rule for a lifted and a non-lifted Hall-Littlewood functions in NCSym. This rule is a noncommutative analogue of the product rule for two Hall-Littlewood functions and, in particular, of the Littlewood-Richardson rule. Finally, our approach extends to the algebra of quasisymmetric functions in noncommuting variables (NCQSym) indexed by set compositions.

Normal Ordering and Stirling-Type Combinatorics for Double Ore Extensions of Type (14641)
We develop an explicit PBW normal ordering theory for the $26$ double extension regular algebras of type $(14641)$ in the Zhang-Zhang classification. With respect to the order $x_1\prec x_2\prec y_1\prec y_2$, we obtain closed two-letter formulas for the internal relations and recursive coefficient systems for mixed words, products of PBW monomials, powers of normal blocks, and noncommutative multinomial expressions. The internal coefficients are mostly quantum or skew-commutative, while the Jordan families produce Lah-Whitney, hence Stirling-type, triangular arrays. The symbolic reductions are supported by a SageMath implementation included as an ancillary file.

The chromatic noncommutative symmetric function of oriented trees
A long-standing question is whether chromatic symmetric functions can distinguish non-isomorphic trees. Campbell introduced chromatic noncommutative symmetric functions for digraphs, which lift chromatic symmetric functions to NSym, and asked to what extent they can distinguish non-isomorphic oriented trees. In this article, we prove that chromatic noncommutative symmetric functions can reconstruct oriented stars, oriented double stars, some oriented caterpillars, and some oriented paths.

Enumerating Multi-Operator Monomials in Commutative and Noncommutative Settings
We study enumeration problems for multi-operator monomials generated from one indeterminate by an associative multiplication together with finitely many unary operators. We consider four regimes, according to whether multiplication is commutative and whether the unary operators commute. In the case where the unary operators do not commute, we obtain explicit multigraded generating functions and coefficient formulas, including a multinomial refinement of the Narayana numbers, together with interpretations in terms of rooted trees, restricted lattice paths, and binary trees. When the unary operators commute, we derive canonical representatives and effective recurrences, with corresponding monotonicity conditions in the combinatorial models. When multiplication is commutative, the sequence decomposition is replaced by a multiset decomposition, leading to exp--log generating functions and Euler-transform recurrences. In special cases, the resulting sequences recover classical families including the Catalan numbers, the small Schröder numbers, and rooted-tree numbers.

Noncommutative Abel-like identities
We generalize the Abel--Hurwitz identities to an almost entirely noncommutative setting. Namely, let $V$ be a finite set of size $n$, and let $\mathbb{L}$ be any noncommutative ring. For each $s\in V$, let $x_{s}\in\mathbb{L}$. Set $x\left( S\right) :=\sum_{s\in S}x_{s}$ for any $S\subseteq V$. Let $X$ and $Y$ be two elements of $\mathbb{L}$ such that $X+Y$ lies in the center of $\mathbb{L}$. Then, we show that% \begin{align*} & \sum_{S\subseteq V}\left( X+x\left( S\right) \right) ^{\left\vert S\right\vert }\left( Y-x\left( S\right) \right) ^{n-\left\vert S\right\vert }=\sum_{\substack{i_{1},i_{2},\ldots,i_{k}\in V\text{ distinct}% }}\left( X+Y\right) ^{n-k}x_{i_{1}}x_{i_{2}}\cdots x_{i_{k}};\\ & \sum_{S\subseteq V}X\left( X+x\left( S\right) \right) ^{\left\vert S\right\vert -1}\left( Y-x\left( S\right) \right) ^{n-\left\vert S\right\vert }=\left( X+Y\right) ^{n};\\ & \sum_{S\subseteq V}X\left( X+x\left( S\right) \right) ^{\left\vert S\right\vert -1}\left( Y-x\left( S\right) \right) ^{n-\left\vert S\right\vert -1}\left( Y-x\left( V\right) \right) =\left( X+Y-x\left( V\right) \right) \left( X+Y\right) ^{n-1}. \end{align*} (Negative powers are understood to be cancelled by other factors.)
