We introduce and investigate the solvable graph $Γ_\mathfrak{S}(L)$ of a finite-dimensional Lie algebra $L$ over a field $F$. The vertices are the elements outside the solvabilizer $\sol(L)$, and two vertices are adjacent whenever they generate a solvable subalgebra. After developing the basic properties of solvabilizers and $S$-Lie algebras, we establish divisibility conditions, coset decompositions, and degree constraints for solvable graphs. Explicit examples, such as $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{F}_3)$, illustrate that solvable graphs may be non-connected, in sharp contrast with the group-theoretic setting. We further determine the degree sequences of $Γ_\mathfrak{S}(\mathfrak{gl}_2(\F_q))$ and $Γ_\mathfrak{S}(\mathfrak{sl}_2(\F_q))$, highlighting how spectral types of matrices dictate combinatorial patterns. An algorithmic framework based on GAP and SageMath is also provided for practical computations. Our results reveal both analogies and differences with the nilpotent graph of Lie algebras, and suggest that solvable graphs encode structural invariants in a genuinely new way. This work opens the door to a broader graphical approach to solvability in Lie theory.
Generating functions of $W_{1+\infty}$ action on symmetric functions
We describe the action of the infinite-dimensional Lie algebra $W_{1+\infty}$ and its B-type analogue on Schur and Schur Q-functions, respectively, using formal distributions framework. We observe an interesting self-duality property possessed by these compact formulas.
Non-separable graphs meet Ledoux's polynomials
In the pathbreaking article \cite{LED16}, an integral representation of the derivatives of entropy along the heat flow of a probability measure was established under suitable moment conditions. These integral representations have found significant applications in diverse domains - notably in information theory (e.g., entropy power inequalities, monotonicity of Fisher information) and in estimation theory (through the link between entropy derivatives and the minimum mean square error, MMSE, in Gaussian channels). The representations involve multivariate polynomials $(R_n)_n$, arising from a Lie algebra framework on multilinear operators. Despite their central role, the combinatorial structure of these polynomials remains only partially understood. In this note, we prove that the number of monomials in $R_n$ coincides with the number of degree sequences with degree sum $2n$ having a non-separable graph realization, thereby resolving a conjecture from \cite{MPS24}, and drawing an interesting link between these two domains.
Monodromy of supersolvable toric arrangements
We study topological aspects of supersolvable abelian arrangements, toric arrangements in particular. The complement of such an arrangement sits atop a tower of fiber bundles, and we investigate the relationship between these bundles and bundles involving classical configuration spaces. In the toric case, we show that the monodromy of a supersolvable arrangement bundle factors through the Artin braid group, and that of a strictly supersolvable arrangement bundle factors further through the Artin pure braid group. The latter factorization is particularly informative -- we use it to determine a number of invariants of the complement of a strictly supersolvable arrangement, including the cohomology ring and the lower central series Lie algebra of the fundamental group.

The resonance varieties, the holonomy Lie algebra, and the holonomy Chen Lie algebra associated with the Orlik-Solomon algebra of a matroid provide an algebraic lens through which to examine the rich combinatorial structure of matroids and their geometric realizations as complex hyperplane arrangements. In this survey paper, we emphasize the commonalities between these objects but also the possible ways in which realizable and non-realizable matroids differ, leading to some open questions.
Diameter bounds for finite simple Lie algebras
We prove strong and explicit diameter bounds for finite simple Lie algebras, which parallel Babai's conjecture for finite simple groups. Specifically, we show that any nonabelian finite simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ over $\mathbf{F}_p$ has diameter $O((\log |\mathfrak{g}|)^D)$ for $D \approx 3.11$ with respect to any generating set. For absolutely simple classical Lie algebras over $\mathbf{F}_p$, we establish the sharper bound $O(\log |\mathfrak{g}|)$ when the Lie type is fixed and the generators are chosen uniformly at random.
A General Framework for Low Soundness Homomorphism Testing
We introduce a general framework to design and analyze algorithms for the problem of testing homomorphisms between finite groups in the low-soundness regime.
In this regime, we give the first constant-query tests for various families of groups. These include tests for: (i) homomorphisms between arbitrary cyclic groups, (ii) homomorphisms between any finite group and $\mathbb{Z}_p$, (iii) automorphisms of dihedral and symmetric groups, (iv) inner automorphisms of non-abelian finite simple groups and extraspecial groups, and (v) testing linear characters of $\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb{F}_q)$, and finite-dimensional Lie algebras over $\mathbb{F}_q$. We also recover the result of Kiwi [TCS'03] for testing homomorphisms between $\mathbb{F}_q^n$ and $\mathbb{F}_q$.
Prior to this work, such tests were only known for abelian groups with a constant maximal order (such as $\mathbb{F}_q^n$). No tests were known for non-abelian groups.
As an additional corollary, our framework gives combinatorial list decoding bounds for cyclic groups with list size dependence of $O(\varepsilon^{-2})$ (for agreement parameter $\varepsilon$). This improves upon the currently best-known bound of $O(\varepsilon^{-105})$ due to Dinur, Grigorescu, Kopparty, and Sudan [STOC'08], and Guo and Sudan [RANDOM'14].

We discuss algebraic universality in the sense of P. Vogel for the simplest refined quantity, the Macdonald dimensions. The main known source of universal quantities is given by Chern-Simons theory. Refinement of Chern-Simons theory means introducing additional parameters. At the level of symmetric functions, the refinement is the transition from the Schur functions to the Macdonald polynomials. We consider the Macdonald polynomials associated with the simple Lie algebras, define Macdonald dimensions and dual Macdonald dimensions, and present a universal formula for them that unifies these quantities for algebras associated with simply laced root systems. We also consider mixed Macdonald dimensions that depend on two different root systems.
A proof of the $q$-Foulkes conjecture for Gaussian coefficients when $a$ divides $c$
Foulkes' conjecture has several generalisations due to Doran, Abdesselam--Chipalkatti, Bergeron, and Troyka. For the special linear Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})$, these assert that given $a \le c \le d \le b$ with $ab=cd$, the $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})$-representation $\mathrm{Sym}^a\mathrm{Sym}^b\mathbb{C}^2$ is a subrepresentation of $\mathrm{Sym}^c\mathrm{Sym}^d\mathbb{C}^2$. We present a short proof in the case where $a$ divides $c$ or $d$, which includes all prime values of $a$. This is the first proof in this family of conjectures valid for infinitely many values of $a$; previously only the cases $a=2$ and $a=3$ were known.
Orbits and equivariant local systems combinatorics in graded Lie algebras
In this paper, we will describe a combinatorial object to list the orbits in the ${\mathbb Z}$-graded Lie algebra, their Jordan bloc decomposition, their dimension, their dimension, the partial order and the equivariant local system (up to isomorphism) for four infinite families: two are for the symplectic groups and two are for the special orthogonal groups. These orbits and equivariant local systems appear in the study of perverse sheaves arising from graded Lie algebras.
The nilpotent graph of a finite0-dimensional Lie algebra
Let $L$ be a finite-dimensional Lie algebra over a field $F$. In This paper we introduce the \emph{nilpotent graph} $Γ_\mathfrak{N}(L)$ as the graph whose vertices are the elements of $L \setminus \nil(L)$, where \[\nil(L) = \{x \in L \mid \langle x, y \rangle \text{ is nilpotent for all } y \in L\},\] and where two vertices $x, y$ are adjacent if the Lie subalgebra they generate is nilpotent. We give some characterizations of $\nil(L)$ and its connection with the hypercenter $Z^*(L)$, for example, they are equal when $F$ has characteristic zero. We prove that the nilpotentizer behaves well under direct sums, allowing a decomposition of $Γ_\mathfrak{N}(L)$ between components. The paper also investigates the structural and combinatorial properties of $Γ_\mathfrak{N}(L)$, including the conditions under which the graph is connected. We characterize the existence of strongly self-centralizing subalgebras in relation to connectivity and vertex isolation. Explicit computations are carried out for the algebra $\mathfrak{t}(2,\mathbb{F}_q)$, where $Γ_\mathfrak{N}(L)$ decomposes into $q+1$ components, each of size $q(q-1)$, forming a $(q^2-q-1)$-regular graph. We conclude with algorithms for constructing $Γ_\mathfrak{N}(L)$ in SageMath, and pose open problems concerning bipartiteness, regularity, and structural implications in higher dimensions over finite fields.
Standard posets and integral weight bases for symmetric powers of minuscule representations
This paper extends our earlier work where we constructed ``minuscule'' representations of Kac--Moody algebras from colored posets in a way that maintains key properties of the well-known minuscule representations of simple Lie algebras. In this paper we work only with finite posets. We define standard posets here as ones that can be used to construct weight bases of $m^\text{th}$ symmetric powers ($m \ge 1$) of these minuscule Kac--Moody representations over the integers in a certain fashion. Our main result is to show that our ``$Γ$-colored $d$-complete'' and ``$Γ$-colored minuscule'' posets are standard. When the algebra at hand is a simply laced simple Lie algebra and the representation minuscule in the classic sense (i.e. isomorphic to irreducible $V(λ)$ for minuscule highest weight $λ$), our result produces a concrete combinatorially described weight basis for the irreducible representation $V(mλ)$ that is indexed in a natural fashion by $m$-multichains in the weight lattice for $V(λ)$. C.S. Seshadri first showed such an indexing of a basis is possible. Our work here is entirely combinatorial and does not use results or techniques from algebraic geometry. Constructions in this paper are independent of Lie type and actions of Kac--Moody algebra elements on basis vectors are effectively specified.
Generalized chord diagrams and weight systems

Weight systems are functions on chord diagrams satisfying Vassiliev's $4$-term relations. They originate in the theory of finite type knot invariants. Recent developments in understanding weight systems arising from Lie algebras are based on extending these weight systems from chord diagrams (which can be interpreted as involutions without fixed points, considered modulo cyclic shifts) to arbitrary permutations (also modulo cyclic shifts). We suggest relations for functions on permutations, which generalize Vassiliev's relations. We show that the $gl$- and $so$- weight systems satisfy these relations. We also analyze certain properties of these weight systems and study realted Hopf algebras of permutations.
Defects in weighted graphs and Commutators

Let $R$ be a commutative ring. In \cite{KK_2025(1)}, the authors introduced $R$-weighted graphs as a tool for studying commutators in groups and Lie algebras. These graphs are equivalent to a system of balance equations, and their consistent labelings correspond to solutions of this system of balance equations. In this article, we apply these ideas in the case when $R$ is a field $F$. We focus on $F$-weighted graphs with four vertices and establish necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of consistent labelings on them. A notion of defects in weighted graphs is introduced for this purpose. We prove that defects in weighted graphs prevent Lie brackets from being surjective onto its derived Lie subalgebra. Similarly, these defects prevent certain elements in the commutator subgroup of a nilpotent group of class $2$ from being a commutator. As an application of our techniques, we prove that for a Lie algebra $L$ whose dimension over $F$ is at most countable and the dimension of its derived subalgebra $L'$ is at most $3$, the Lie bracket is surjective onto $L'$. We provide a counterexample when $\dim(L') = 4$. We also characterize commutators among $L$' for the Lie algebras $L$ with $\dim(L/Z(L))\leq 4$.
Lie-operads and operadic modules from poset cohomology
As observed by Joyal, the cohomology groups of the partition posets are naturally identified with the components of the operad encoding Lie algebras. This connection was explained in terms of operadic Koszul duality by Fresse, and later generalized by Vallette to the setting of decorated partitions. In this article, we set up and study a general formalism which produces a priori operadic structures (operads and operadic modules) on the cohomology of families of posets equipped with some natural recursive structure, that we call "operadic poset species". This framework goes beyond decorated partitions and operadic Koszul duality, and contains the metabelian Lie operad and Kontsevich's operad of trees as two simple instances. In forthcoming work, we will apply our results to the hypertree posets and their connections to post-Lie and pre-Lie algebras.
$R$-weighted graphs and commutators
In this article, we introduce balance equations over commutative rings $R$ and associate $R$-weighted graphs to them so that solving balance equations corresponds to a consistent labeling of vertices of the associated graph. Our primary focus is the case when $R$ is a commutative local ring whose residue field contains at least three elements. In this case, we provide explicit solutions of balance equations. As an application, letting $R$ to be the ring of $p$-adic integers, we examine some necessary and sufficient conditions for a $p$-group of nilpotency class $2$ to have its set of commutators coincide with its commutator subgroup. We also apply our results to study the surjectivity of the Lie bracket in Lie algebras, without any restriction on their dimension and the underlined field.
The Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_4(\mathbb C)$ and the hypercubes

We describe a relationship between the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_4(\mathbb C)$ and the hypercube graphs. Consider the $\mathbb C$-algebra $P$ of polynomials in four commuting variables. We turn $P$ into an $\mathfrak{sl}_4(\mathbb C)$-module on which each element of $\mathfrak{sl}_4(\mathbb C)$ acts as a derivation. Then $P$ becomes a direct sum of irreducible $\mathfrak{sl}_4(\mathbb C)$-modules
$P = \sum_{N\in \mathbb N} P_N$, where $P_N$ is the $N$th homogeneous component of $P$. For $N\in \mathbb N$ we construct some additional $\mathfrak{sl}_4(\mathbb C)$-modules ${\rm Fix}(G)$ and $T$. For these modules the underlying vector space is described as follows. Let $X$ denote the vertex set of the hypercube $H(N,2)$, and let $V$ denote the $\mathbb C$-vector space with basis $X$. For the automorphism group $G$ of $H(N,2)$, the action of $G$ on $X$ turns $V$ into a $G$-module. The vector space $V^{\otimes 3} = V \otimes V \otimes V$ becomes a $G$-module such that $g(u \otimes v \otimes w)= g(u) \otimes g(v) \otimes g(w)$ for $g\in G$ and $u,v,w \in V$. The subspace ${\rm Fix}(G)$
of $V^{\otimes 3}$ consists of the vectors in $V^{\otimes 3}$ that are fixed by every element in $G$.
Pick $\varkappa \in X$. The corresponding subconstituent algebra $T$ of $H(N,2)$ is the subalgebra of ${\rm End}(V)$ generated by the adjacency map $\sf A$ of $H(N,2)$ and the dual adjacency map ${\sf A}^*$ of $H(N,2)$ with respect to $\varkappa$. In our main results, we turn ${\rm Fix}(G)$ and $T$ into $\mathfrak{sl}_4(\mathbb C)$-modules, and display $\mathfrak{sl}_4(\mathbb C)$-module isomorphisms $P_N \to {\rm Fix}(G) \to T$.
We describe the $\mathfrak{sl}_4(\mathbb C)$-modules $P_N$, ${\rm Fix}(G)$, $T$ from multiple points of view.
On post-Lie structures for free Lie algebras
We study post-Lie structures on free Lie algebras, the Grossman-Larson product on their enveloping algebras, and provide an abstract formula for its dual coproduct. This might be of interest for the general theory of post-Hopf algebras. Using a magmatic approach, we explore post-Lie algebras connected to multiple zeta values and their $q$-analogues. For multiple zeta values, this framework yields an algebraic interpretation of the Goncharov coproduct. Assuming that the Bernoulli numbers satisfy the so called threshold shuffle identities, we present a post-Lie structure, whose induced Lie bracket we expect to restrict to the dual of indecomposables of multiple $q$-zeta values. Our post-Lie algebras align with Ecalle's theory of bimoulds: we explicitly identify the ari bracket with a post-Lie structure on a free Lie algebra, and conjecture a correspondence for the uri bracket.
On the action of the cactus group on the set of Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns for orthogonal Lie algebras
The purpose of this work is to define a natural action of the cactus group on the set of Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns for orthogonal Lie algebras. These Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns are meant to index the Gelfand-Tsetlin basis in the irreducible representations of the orthogonal Lie algebra $\mathfrak{o}_N$ with respect to the chain of nested orthogonal Lie algebras $\mathfrak{o}_N \supset \mathfrak{o}_{N-1} \supset \ldots \supset \mathfrak{o}_3$. Using the Howe duality between $O_N$ and $\mathfrak{o}_{2n}$, we realize some representations of $\mathfrak{o}_N$ as multiplicity spaces inside the tensor power of the spinor representation $(Λ\mathbb{C}^{n})^{\otimes N}$. There is a natural choice of the basis inside the multiplicity space, which agrees with the decomposition of $(Λ\mathbb{C}^{n})^{\otimes N}$ into simple $\mathfrak{o}_{2n}$-modules. We call such basis principal. The action of the cactus group $C_N$ by the crystal commutors on the crystal arising from $(Λ\mathbb{C}^{n})^{\otimes N}$ induces the action of $C_N$ on the set indexing the principal basis inside the multiplicity space. We call this set regular cell tables. Regular cell tables are the analog of semi-standard Young tables. There is a natural bijection between a specific subset of semi-standard Young tables and regular cell tables. In this paper, we establish a natural bijection between the principal basis and the Gelfand-Tsetlin basis and, therefore, define an action of the cactus group on the set Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns.
On Refined Vogel's universality

In accordance with P. Vogel, a set of algebra structures in Chern-Simons theory can be made universal, independent of a particular family of simple Lie algebras. In particular, this means that various quantities in the adjoint representations of these simple Lie algebras such as dimensions and quantum dimensions, Racah coefficients, etc. are simple rational functions of two parameters on Vogel's plane, giving three lines associated with $sl$, $so/sp$ and exceptional algebras correspondingly. By analyzing the partition function of refined of Chern-Simons theory, it was suggested earlier that the refinement may preserve the universality for simply laced algebras. Here we support this conjecture by analysing the Macdonald dimensions, i.e. values of Macdonald polynomials at $q^ρ$, where $ρ$ is the Weyl vector: there is a universality formula that describes these dimensions for the simply laced algebras as a function on the Vogel's plane.
