On the Number of Arrows of Cluster Quivers
Published • View Publication • BIB
Let $\tilde{Q}$ (resp. $Q$) be an extended exchange (resp. exchange) cluster quiver of finite mutation type. We introduce the distribution set of the number of arrows for $Mut[\tilde{Q}]$ (resp. $Mut[Q]$), give the maximum and minimum numbers of the distribution set and establish the existence of an extended complete walk (resp. a complete walk). As a consequence, we prove that the distribution set for $Mut[\tilde{Q}]$ (resp. $Mut[Q]$) is continuous except the exceptional cases. In case of cluster quivers $Q_{inf}$ of infinite mutation type, the number of arrows does not present a continuous distribution. Besides, we show that the maximal number of arrows of quivers in $Mut[Q_{inf}]$ is infinite if and only if the maximal number of arrows between any two vertices of a quiver in $Mut[Q_{inf}]$ is infinite.

Permutation actions on Quiver Grassmannians for the equioriented cycle via GKM-Theory
Published • View Publication • BIB
In previous work we equipped quiver Grassmannians for nilpotent representations of the equioriented cycle with an action of an algebraic torus. We show here that the equivariant cohomology ring is acted upon by a product of symmetric groups and we investigate this permutation action via GKM techniques. In the case of (type A) flag varieties, or Schubert varieties therein, we recover Tymoczko's results on permutation representations.

$\imath$Hall algebra of Jordan quiver and $\imath$Hall-Littlewood functions
Published in Selecta Math. (2025) 31:106 • View Publication • BIB
We show that the $\imath$Hall algebra of the Jordan quiver is a polynomial ring in infinitely many generators and obtain transition relations among several generating sets. We establish a ring isomorphism from this $\imath$Hall algebra to the ring of symmetric functions in two parameters $t, θ$, which maps the $\imath$Hall basis to a class of (modified) inhomogeneous Hall-Littlewood ($\imath$HL) functions. The (modified) $\imath$HL functions admit a formulation via raising and lowering operators. We formulate and prove Pieri rules for (modified) $\imath$HL functions. The modified $\imath$HL functions specialize at $θ=0$ to the modified HL functions; they specialize at $θ=1$ to the deformed universal characters of type C, which further specialize at $(t=0, θ=1)$ to the universal characters of type C.

A proof of Lee-Lee's conjecture about geometry of rigid modules
Published • View Publication • BIB
This paper proves Lee-Lee's conjecture that establishes a coincidence between the set of associated roots of non-self-intersecting curves in a $n$-punctured disc and the set of real Schur roots of acyclic (valued) quivers with $n$ vertices.

Schubert puzzles and integrability II: multiplying motivic Segre classes
Published • View Publication • BIB
In Schubert Puzzles and Integrability I we proved several "puzzle rules" for computing products of Schubert classes in K-theory (and sometimes equivariant K-theory) of d-step flag varieties. The principal tool was "quantum integrability", in several variants of the Yang--Baxter equation; this let us recognize the Schubert structure constants as q->0 limits of certain matrix entries in products of R- (and other) matrices of quantized affine algebra representations. In the present work we give direct cohomological interpretations of those same matrix entries but at finite q: they compute products of "motivic Segre classes", closely related to K-theoretic Maulik--Okounkov stable classes living on the cotangent bundles of the flag varieties. Without q->0, we avoid some divergences that blocked fuller understanding of d=3,4. The puzzle computations are then explained (in cohomology onlyin this work, not K-theory) in terms of Lagrangian convolutions between Nakajima quiver varieties. More specifically, the conormal bundle to the diagonal inclusion of a flag variety factors through a quiver variety that is not a cotangent bundle, and it is on that intermediate quiver variety that the R-matrix calculation occurs.

Weave Realizability for D-type
Published in Algebr. Geom. Topol. 23 (2023) 2735-2776 • View Publication • BIB
We study exact Lagrangian fillings of Legendrian links of $D_n$-type in the standard contact 3-sphere. The main result is the existence of a Lagrangian filling, represented by a weave, such that any algebraic quiver mutation of the associated intersection quiver can be realized as a geometric weave mutation. The method of proof is via Legendrian weave calculus and a construction of appropriate 1-cycles whose geometric intersections realize the required algebraic intersection numbers. In particular, we show that in $D$-type, each cluster chart of the moduli of microlocal rank-1 sheaves is induced by at least one embedded exact Lagrangian filling. Hence, the Legendrian links of $D_n$-type have at least as many Hamiltonian isotopy classes of Lagrangian fillings as cluster seeds in the $D_n$-type cluster algebra, and their geometric exchange graph for Lagrangian disk surgeries contains the cluster exchange graph of $D_n$-type.

Spectral sequences of a Morse shelling
Published • View Publication • BIB
We recently introduced a notion of tilings of geometric realizations of finite relative simplicial complexes and related those tilings to the discrete Morse theory of R. Forman, especially when they have the property of being shellable, a property shared by the classical shellable complexes. We now observe that every such tiling supports a quiver which is acyclic precisely when the tiling is shellable and then, that every shelling induces two spectral sequences which converge to the relative (co)homology of the complex. Their first pages are free modules over the critical tiles of the tiling.

Pre-Calabi-Yau algebras and noncommutative calculus on higher cyclic Hochschild cohomology
We prove $L_{\infty}$-formality for the higher cyclic Hochschild complex $\chH$ over free associative algebra or path algebra of a quiver. The $\chH$ complex is introduced as an appropriate tool for the definition of pre-Calabi-Yau structure. We show that cohomologies of this complex are pure in case of free algebras (path algebras), concentrated in degree zero. It serves as a main ingredient for the formality proof. For any smooth algebra we choose a small qiso subcomplex in the higher cyclic Hochschild complex, which gives rise to a calculus of highly noncommutative monomials, we call them $ξδ$-monomials. The Lie structure on this subcomplex is combinatorially described in terms of $ξδ$-monomials. This subcomplex and a basis of $ξδ$-monomials in combination with arguments from Groebner bases theory serves for the cohomology calculations of the higher cyclic Hochschild complex. The language of $ξδ$-monomials in particular allows an interpretation of pre-Calabi-Yau structure as a noncommutative Poisson structure.

Lengths of maximal green sequences for tame path algebras
Published • View Publication • BIB
In this paper, we study the maximal length of maximal green sequences for quivers of type $\widetilde{\mathbf{D}}$ and $\widetilde{\mathbf{E}}$ by using the theory of tilting mutation. We show that the maximal length does not depend on the choice of the orientation, and determine it explicitly. Moreover, we give a program which counts all maximal green sequences by length for a given Dynkin/extended Dynkin quiver.

From frieze patterns to cluster categories
Published in Modern trends in algebra and representation theory, 109-145; London Math. Soc. Lecture Note Ser., 486, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 2023; ISBN:978-1-009-09735-2 • View Publication • BIB
Motivated by Conway and Coxeter's combinatorial results concerning frieze patterns, we sketch an introduction to the theory of cluster algebras and cluster categories for acyclic quivers. The goal is to show how these more abstract theories provide a conceptual explanation for phenomena concerning friezes, principally integrality and periodicity.

Orbifold diagrams
Published in Journal of Algebra, Volume 619, 1 April 2023, Pages 383-418 • View Publication • BIB
We study alternating strand diagrams on the disk with an orbifold point. These are quotients by rotation of Postnikov diagrams on the disk, and we call them orbifold diagrams. We associate a quiver with potential to each orbifold diagram, in such a way that its Jacobian algebra and the one associated to the covering Postnikov diagram are related by a skew-group algebra construction. We moreover realise this Jacobian algebra as the endomorphism algebra of a certain explicit cluster-tilting object. This is similar to (and relies on) a result by Baur-King-Marsh for Postnikov diagrams on the disk.

Mixed Dimer Configuration Model in Type D Cluster Algebras
Published • View Publication • BIB
We give a combinatorial model for F-polynomials and g-vectors for type D cluster algebras where the associated quiver is acyclic. Our model utilizes a combination of dimer configurations and double dimer configurations which we refer to as mixed dimer configurations. In particular, we give a graph theoretic recipe that describes which monomials appear in such F-polynomials, as well as a graph theoretic way to determine the coefficients of each of these monomials. In addition, we give a weighting on our mixed dimer configuration model that gives the associated g-vector. To prove this formula, we use a combinatorial formula due to Thao Tran and provide explicit bijections between her combinatorial model and our own.

A graph theoretical framework for the strong Gram classification of non-negative unit forms of Dynkin type A
Published in Fundamenta Informaticae, Volume 184, Issue 1 (December 23, 2021) fi:7596 • View Publication • BIB
In the context of signed line graphs, this article introduces a modified inflation technique to study strong Gram congruence of non-negative (integral quadratic) unit forms, and uses it to show that weak and strong Gram congruence coincide among positive unit forms of Dynkin type A. The concept of inverse of a quiver is also introduced, and is used to obtain and analyze the Coxeter matrix of non-negative unit forms of Dynkin type A. Connected principal unit forms of such type are also classified.

The quiver of an affine monoid
Published • View Publication • BIB
If $R$ is a finite commutative ring, then the affine monoid of $R$ is the monoid of all affine mappings $x\mapsto ax+b$ on $R$. Alternatively, it is the semidirect product of the multiplicative monoid of $R$ with the additive group of $R$. In this paper we compute the Gabriel quiver of the complex algebra of the affine monoid of any finite commutative ring.
McKay quivers and Lusztig algebras of some finite groups
Published • View Publication • BIB
We are interested in the McKay quiver $Γ(G)$ and skew group rings $A*G$, where $G$ is a finite subgroup of $\mathrm{GL}(V)$, where $V$ is a finite dimensional vector space over a field $K$, and $A$ is a $K-G$-algebra. These skew group rings appear in Auslander's version of the McKay correspondence. In the first part of this paper we consider complex reflection groups $G \subseteq \mathrm{GL}(V)$ and find a combinatorial method, making use of Young diagrams, to construct the McKay quivers for the groups $G(r,p,n)$. We first look at the case $G(1,1,n)$, which is isomorphic to the symmetric group $S_n$, followed by $G(r,1,n)$ for $r >1$. Then, using Clifford theory, we can determine the McKay quiver for any $G(r,p,n)$ and thus for all finite irreducible complex reflection groups up to finitely many exceptions. In the second part of the paper we consider a more conceptual approach to McKay quivers of arbitrary finite groups: we define the Lusztig algebra $\widetilde A(G)$ of a finite group $G \subseteq \mathrm{GL}(V)$, which is Morita equivalent to the skew group ring $A*G$. This description gives us an embedding of the basic algebra Morita equivalent to $A*G$ into a matrix algebra over $A$.

Path combinatorics and light leaves for quiver Hecke algebras
Published • View Publication • BIB
We recast the classical notion of standard tableaux in an alcove-geometric setting and extend these classical ideas to all reduced paths in our geometry. This broader path-perspective is essential for implementing the higher categorical ideas of Elias--Williamson in the setting of quiver Hecke algebras. Our first main result is the construction of light leaves bases of quiver Hecke algebras. These bases are richer and encode more structural information than their classical counterparts, even in the case of the symmetric groups. Our second main result provides path-theoretic generators for the Bott--Samelson truncation of the quiver Hecke algebra.

On quiver representations over $\mathbb{F}_1$
Published • View Publication • BIB
We study the category $\textrm{Rep}(Q,\mathbb{F}_1)$ of representations of a quiver $Q$ over "the field with one element", denoted by $\mathbb{F}_1$, and the Hall algebra of $\textrm{Rep}(Q,\mathbb{F}_1)$. Representations of $Q$ over $\mathbb{F}_1$ often reflect combinatorics of those over $\mathbb{F}_q$, but show some subtleties - for example, we prove that a connected quiver $Q$ is of finite representation type over $\mathbb{F}_1$ if and only if $Q$ is a tree. Then, to each representation $\mathbb{V}$ of $Q$ over $\mathbb{F}_1$ we associate a coefficient quiver $Γ_\mathbb{V}$ possessing the same information as $\mathbb{V}$. This allows us to translate representations over $\mathbb{F}_1$ purely in terms of combinatorics of associated coefficient quivers. We also explore the growth of indecomposable representations of $Q$ over $\mathbb{F}_1$ - there are also similarities to representations over a field, but with some subtle differences. Finally, we link the Hall algebra of the category of nilpotent representations of an $n$-loop quiver over $\mathbb{F}_1$ with the Hopf algebra of skew shapes introduced by Szczesny.
Quivers with potentials associated to triangulations of closed surfaces with at most two punctures
We tackle the classification problem of non-degenerate potentials for quivers arising from triangulations of surfaces in the cases left open by Geiss-Labardini-Schröer. Namely, for once-punctured closed surfaces of positive genus, we show that the quiver of any triangulation admits infinitely many non-degenerate potentials that are pairwise not weakly right-equivalent; we do so by showing that the potentials obtained by adding the 3-cycles coming from triangles and a fixed power of the cycle surrounding the puncture are well behaved under flips and QP-mutations. For twice-punctured closed surfaces of positive genus, we prove that the quiver of any triangulation admits exactly one non-degenerate potential up to weak right-equivalence, thus confirming the veracity of a conjecture of the aforementioned authors.

Combinatorics of Nahm sums, quiver resultants and the K-theoretic condition
Published • View Publication • BIB
Algebraic Nahm equations, considered in the paper, are polynomial equations, governing the $q\rightarrow 1$ limit of the $q$-hypergeometric Nahm sums. They make an appearance in various fields: hyperbolic geometry, knot theory, quiver representation theory, topological strings and conformal field theory. In this paper we focus primarily on Nahm sums and Nahm equations that arise in relation with symmetric quivers. For a large class of them, we prove that quiver A-polynomials -- specialized resultants of the Nahm equations, are tempered (the so-called K-theoretic condition). This implies that they are quantizable. Moreover, we find that their face polynomials obey a remarkable combinatorial pattern. We use the machinery of initial forms and mixed polyhedral decompositions to investigate the edges of the Newton polytope. We show that this condition holds for the diagonal quivers with adjacency matrix $C = \mathrm{diag}(α,α,\dots,α),\ α\geq 2$, and provide several checks for non-diagonal quivers. Our conjecture is that the K-theoretic condition holds for all symmetric quivers.

Q-data and representation theory of untwisted quantum affine algebras
Published • View Publication • BIB
For a complex finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, we introduce the notion of Q-datum, which generalizes the notion of a Dynkin quiver with a height function from the viewpoint of Weyl group combinatorics. Using this notion, we develop a unified theory describing the twisted Auslander-Reiten quivers and the twisted adapted classes introduced in [O.-Suh, J. Algebra, 2019] with an appropriate notion of the generalized Coxeter elements. As a consequence, we obtain a combinatorial formula expressing the inverse of the quantum Cartan matrix of $\mathfrak{g}$, which generalizes the result of [Hernandez-Leclerc, J. Reine Angew. Math., 2015] in the simply-laced case. We also find several applications of our combinatorial theory of Q-data to the finite-dimensional representation theory of the untwisted quantum affine algebra of $\mathfrak{g}$. In particular, in terms of Q-data and the inverse of the quantum Cartan matrix, (i) we give an alternative description of the block decomposition results due to [Chari-Moura, Int. Math. Res. Not., 2005] and [Kashiwara-Kim-O.-Park, arXiv:2003.03265], (ii) we present a unified (partially conjectural) formula of the denominators of the normalized R-matrices between all the Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules, and (iii) we compute the invariants $Λ(V,W)$ and $Λ^\infty(V, W)$ introduced in [Kashiwara-Kim-O.-Park, Compos. Math., 2020] for each pair of simple modules $V$ and $W$.
