Diamond-colored distributive lattices, move-minimizing games, and fundamental Weyl symmetric functions: The type $\mathsf{A}$ case
We present some elementary but foundational results concerning diamond-colored modular and distributive lattices and connect these structures to certain one-player combinatorial "move-minimizing games," in particular, a so-called "domino game." The objective of this game is to find, if possible, the least number of "domino moves" to get from one partition to another, where a domino move is, with one exception, the addition or removal of a domino-shaped pair of tiles. We solve this domino game by demonstrating the somewhat surprising fact that the associated "game graphs" coincide with a well-known family of diamond-colored distributive lattices which shall be referred to as the "type $\mathsf{A}$ fundamental lattices." These lattices arise as supporting graphs for the fundamental representations of the special linear Lie algebras and as splitting posets for type $\mathsf{A}$ fundamental symmetric functions, connections which are further explored in sequel papers for types $\mathsf{A}$, $\mathsf{C}$, and $\mathsf{B}$. In this paper, this connection affords a solution to the proposed domino game as well as new descriptions of the type $\mathsf{A}$ fundamental lattices.

The colored Jones polynomial is a $q$-polynomial invariant of links colored by irreducible representations of a simple Lie algebra. A $q$-series called a tail is obtained as the limit of the $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ colored Jones polynomials $\{J_n(K;q)\}_n$ for some link $K$, for example, an alternating link. For the $\mathfrak{sl}_3$ colored Jones polynomials, the existence of a tail is unknown. We give two explicit formulas of the tail of the $\mathfrak{sl}_3$ colored Jones polynomials colored by $(n,0)$ for the $(2,2m)$-torus link. These two expressions of the tail provide an identity of $q$-series. This is a knot-theoretical generalization of the Andrews-Gordon identities for the Ramanujan false theta function.

Feit and Fine derived a generating function for the number of ordered pairs of commuting n by n matrices over the finite field F_q. This has been reproved and studied by Bryan and Morrison from the viewpoint of motivic Donaldson-Thomas theory. In this note we give a new proof of the Feit-Fine result, and generalize it to the Lie algebra of finite unitary groups and to the Lie algebra of odd characteristic finite symplectic groups. We extract some asymptotic information from these generating functions. Finally, we derive generating functions for the number of commuting nilpotent elements for the Lie algebras of the finite general linear and unitary groups, and of odd characteristic symplectic groups.

We initiate a new approach to the study of the combinatorics of several parametrizations of canonical bases. In this work we deal with Lie algebras of type $A$. Using geometric objects called Rhombic tilings we derive a "crossing formula" to compute the actions of the crystal operators on Lusztig data for an arbitrary reduced word of the longest Weyl group element. We provide the following three applications of this result. Using the tropical Chamber Ansatz of Berenstein-Fomin-Zelevinsky we prove an enhanced version of the Anderson-Mirković conjecture for the crystal structure on MV polytopes. We establish a duality between Kashiwara's string and Lusztig's parametrization, revealing that each of them is controlled by the crystal structure of the other. We identify the potential functions of the unipotent radical of $SL_n$ defined by Berenstein-Kazhdan and Gross-Hacking-Keel-Kontsevich, respectively, with a function arising from the crystal structure on Lusztig data.

We study a class of polyhedra associated to marked posets. Examples of these polyhedra are Gelfand-Tsetlin polytopes and cones, as well as Berenstein-Zelevinsky polytopes, all of which have appeared in the representation theory of semi-simple Lie algebras. The faces of these polyhedra correspond to certain partitions of the underlying poset and we give a combinatorial characterization of these partitions. We specify a class of marked posets that give rise to polyhedra with facets in correspondence to the covering relations of the poset. On the convex geometrical side, we describe the recession cone of the polyhedra, discuss products and give a Minkowski sum decomposition. We briefly discuss intersections with affine subspaces that have also appeared in representation theory and recently in the theory of finite Hilbert space frames.

Motivated by the combinatorial properties of products in Lie algebras, we investigate the subset of permutations that naturally appears when we write the long commutator $[x_1, x_2, ..., x_m]$ as a sum of associative monomials. We characterize this subset and find some useful equivalences. Moreover, we explore properties concerning the action of this subset on sequences of m elements. In particular we describe sequences that share some special symmetries which can be useful in the study of combinatorial properties in graded Lie algebras.

We study the geometry and topology of Hilbert schemes of points on the orbifold surface [C^2/G], respectively the singular quotient surface C^2/G, where G is a finite subgroup of SL(2,C) of type A or D. We give a decomposition of the (equivariant) Hilbert scheme of the orbifold into affine space strata indexed by a certain combinatorial set, the set of Young walls. The generating series of Euler characteristics of Hilbert schemes of points of the singular surface of type A or D is computed in terms of an explicit formula involving a specialized character of the basic representation of the corresponding affine Lie algebra; we conjecture that the same result holds also in type E. Our results are consistent with known results for type A, and are new for type D. The crystal basis theory of the fundamental representation of the affine Lie algebra corresponding to the surface singularity (via the McKay correspondence) plays an important role in our approach. The result gives a generalization of Göttsche's formula and has interesting modular properties related to the S-duality conjecture.
The moduli space of torsion free sheaves on surfaces are higher rank analogs of the Hilbert schemes. In type A our results reveal their Euler characteristic generating function as well. Another very interesting class of normal surface singularities is the so-called cyclic quotient singularities of type (p,1). As an outlook we also obtain some results about the associated generating functions.

We investigate the relationship between two constructions of maximal comma-free codes described respectively by Eastman and by Scholtz and the notions of Hall sets and Lazard sets introduced in connection with factorizations of free monoids and bases of free Lie algebras.
Central measures on multiplicative graphs, representations of Lie algebras and weight polytopes
To each finite-dimensional representation of a simple Lie algebra is associated a multiplicative graph in the sense of Kerov and Vershik definedfrom the decomposition of its tensor powers into irreducible components. The conditioning of naturalrandom Littelmann paths to stay in their corresponding Weyl chamber is thencontrolled by central measures on this type of graphs. Using the K-theory of associated C*-algebras, Handelman established a homeomorphism between the set of central measures on these multiplicative graphs and the weight polytope of theunderlying representation. In the present paper, we make explicit this homeomorphism independently of Handelman's results by using Littelmann's path model. As a by-product we also get an explicit parametrization of theweight polytope in terms of drifts of random Littelmann paths. This explicit parametrization yields a complete description of harmonic and c-harmonic functions for this Littelmann paths model.

On Order Ideals of Minuscule Posets III: The CDE Property
Recent work of Hopkins establishes that the lattice of order ideals of a minuscule poset satisfies the coincidental down-degree expectations property of Reiner, Tenner, and Yong. His approach appeals to the classification of minuscule posets. A uniform proof is presented herein.
The blueprint follows that of Rush and Wang in their uniform proof that various cardinality statistics are homomesic on orbits of order ideals of minuscule posets under the Fon-Der-Flaass action. The underpinning remains the original insight of Rush and Shi into the structure of the isomorphism between the weight lattice of a minuscule representation of a complex simple Lie algebra and the lattice of order ideals of the corresponding minuscule poset.

We study a family of finite--dimensional representations of the hyperspecial parabolic subalgebra of the twisted affine Lie algebra of type $\tt A_2^{(2)}$. We prove that these modules admit a decreasing filtration whose sections are isomorphic to stable Demazure modules in an integrable highest weight module of sufficiently large level. In particular, we show that any stable level $m'$ Demazure module admits a filtration by level $m$ Demazure modules for all $m\ge m'$. We define the graded and weighted generating functions which encode the multiplicity of a given Demazure module and establish a recursive formulae. In the case when $m'=1,2$ and $m=2,3$ we determine these generating functions completely and show that they define hypergeoemetric series and that they are related to the $q$--Fibonacci polynomials defined by Carlitz.

In this paper, we recall our renormalized quantum Q-system associated with representations of the Lie algebra $A_r$, and show that it can be viewed as a quotient of the quantum current algebra $U_q({\mathfrak n}[u,u^{-1}])\subset U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak sl}_2)$ in the Drinfeld presentation. Moreover, we find the interpretation of the conserved quantities in terms of Cartan currents at level 0, and the rest of the current algebra, in a non-standard polarization in terms of generators in the quantum cluster algebra.
Comments related to infinite wedge representations
We study the infinite wedge representation and show how it is related to the universal extension of $g[t,t^{-1}]$ the loop algebra of a complex semi-simple Lie algebra $g$. We also give an elementary proof of the boson-fermion correspondence. Our approach to proving this result is based on a combinatorial construction with partitions combined with an application of the Murnaghan-Nakayama rule.

The center of an extended affine Hecke algebra is known to be isomorphic to the ring of symmetric functions associated to the underlying finite Weyl group $W\_0$. The set of Weyl characters ${\sf s}\_\la$ forms a basis of the center and Lusztig showed in [Lus15] that these characters act as translations on the Kazhdan-Lusztig basis element $C\_{w\_0}$ where $w\_0$ is the longest element of $W\_0$, that is we have $C\_{w\_0}{\sf s}\_\la =C\_{w\_0t\_\la}$. As a consequence, the coefficients that appear when decomposing~$C\_{w\_0t\_{\la}}{\sf s}\_τ$ in the Kazhdan-Lusztig basis are tensor multiplicities of the Lie algebra with Weyl group $W\_0$. The aim of this paper is to explain how admissible subsets and Littelmann paths, which are models to compute such multiplicities, naturally appear when working out this decomposition.

Using the theory of PBW bases, one can realize the crystal $B(\infty)$ for any semisimple Lie algebra over $\mathbf{C}$ using Kostant partitions as the underlying set. In fact there are many such realizations, one for each reduced expression for the longest element of the Weyl group. There is an algorithm to calculate the actions of the crystal operators, but it can be quite complicated. Here we show that, for certain reduced expressions, the crystal operators can also be described by a much simpler bracketing rule. We give conditions describing these reduced expressions, and show that there is at least one example in every type except possibly $E_8$, $F_4$ and $G_2$. We then discuss some examples.
On Chari-Loktev bases for local Weyl modules in type $A$

This paper is a study of the bases introduced by Chari-Loktev for local Weyl modules of the current algebra associated to a special linear Lie algebra. Partition overlaid patterns, POPs for short---whose introduction is one of the aims of this paper---form convenient parametrizing sets of these bases. They play a role analogous to that played by (Gelfand-Tsetlin) patterns in the representation theory of the special linear Lie algebra.
The notion of a POP leads naturally to the notion of area of a pattern. We observe that there is a unique pattern of maximal area among all those with a given bounding sequence and given weight. We give a combinatorial proof of this and discuss its representation theoretic relevance.
We then state a conjecture about the "stability", i.e., compatibility in the long range, of Chari-Loktev bases with respect to inclusions of local Weyl modules. In order to state the conjecture, we establish a certain bijection between colored partitions and POPs, which may be of interest in itself.

We define a solvable extension of the graph 2-step nilpotent Lie algebras of [5] by adding elements corresponding to the 3-cliques of the graph. We study some of their basic properties and we prove that two such Lie algebras are isomorphic if and only if their graphs are isomorphic. We also briefly discuss some metric properties, providing examples of homogeneous spaces with nonpositive curvature operator and solvsolitons.
Normalization in Lie algebras via mould calculus and applications

We establish Ecalle's mould calculus in an abstract Lie-theoretic setting and use it to solve a normalization problem, which covers several formal normal form problems in the theory of dynamical systems. The mould formalism allows us to reduce the Lie-theoretic problem to a mould equation, the solutions of which are remarkably explicit and can be fully described by means of a gauge transformation group. The dynamical applications include the construction of Poincar{é}-Dulac formal normal forms for a vector field around an equilibrium point, a formal infinite-order multiphase averaging procedure for vector fields with fast angular variables (Hamiltonian or not), or the construction of Birkhoff normal forms both in classical and quantum situations. As a by-product we obtain, in the case of harmonic oscillators, the convergence of the quantum Birkhoff form to the classical one, without any Diophantine hypothesis on the frequencies of the unperturbed Hamiltonians.

We develop a functorial theory of spinor and oscillator representations parallel to the theory of Schur functors for general linear groups. This continues our work on developing orthogonal and symplectic analogues of Schur functors. As such, there are a few main points in common. We define a category of representations of what might be thought of as the infinite rank pin and metaplectic groups, and give three models of this category in terms of: multilinear algebra, diagram categories, and twisted Lie algebras. We also define specialization functors to the finite rank groups and calculate the derived functors.
