Fast factorization in diagram monoids
We give explicit algorithms that factor elements of the standard diagram monoids into their usual generators. These algorithms generalize sorting from permutations to partial matchings and set partitions. In every case the worst-case complexity is $n^2$, which is optimal for algorithms that explicitly list the factors. We also determine the average complexity of our algorithms.
Torsion proliferation
This paper considers the generic behaviour of sheaves supported on Schubert varieties in finite flag varieties. Our main results are that, for any fixed prime $p$, as the rank of the associated algebraic group grows, almost every intersection cohomology sheaf admits $p$-torsion in its stalks or costalks, and almost every indecomposable parity sheaf is not perverse. For certain families of partial flag varieties we also determine explicit asymptotics for this growth.
The subregular and submaximal $p$-cells
Cells for the canonical and $p$-canonical bases organise the representation theory and geometry of Hecke categories. We determine the relevant $p$-canonical basis elements and the resulting $p$-cell structure for the subregular and submaximal cells in all classical types.
Presentations for categories of crystals
We give generators and relations for the monoidal categories of crystals generated by the fundamental crystals of a simple complex Lie algebra. We also spell out several small-rank examples.
Generalized diagram categories and monoids, and their representations
Classical diagram categories and monoids, including the Temperley--Lieb, Brauer, and partition cases, arise as special instances of the category of two dimensional cobordisms and admit additional twists that produce a large new family of diagram categories and monoids. In this paper we introduce this family and develop a unified approach to their representation theory.
Affine diagram categories, algebras and monoids
We introduce and study several affine (=annular in this paper) versions of the classical diagram algebras such as Temperley-Lieb, partition, Brauer, Motzkin, rook Brauer, rook, planar partition, and planar rook algebras. We give generators and relation presentation for them and their associated categories, study their representation theory, and the asymptotic behavior of tensor products of their representations in the monoid case. Under a mild hypothesis, we also prove a previous conjecture concerning the asymptotic growth of the number of indecomposable summands in the tensor powers of representations for finite monoids.
Growth Problems of Quantum Groups
We study the asymptotic size of decompositions of tensor powers of tilting modules for quantum groups (mostly at a complex root of unity). In type A1 we obtain a sharp result for the number of indecomposable summands, explained by a one dimensional half-line random walk with a periodic congruence constraint. In general type we prove a universal law: the dominant part is governed only by the dimension of the module, while the correction depends only on the root system, so the asymptotic size is largely independent of the specific tilting module.
Diagrammatics for dicyclic groups
Using that the dicyclic group is the type D subgroup of SU(2), we extend the Temperley-Lieb diagrammatics to give a diagrammatic presentation of the complex representation theory of the dicyclic group.

We investigate the structure of Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials of the symmetric group by leveraging computational approaches from big data, including exploratory and topological data analysis, applied to the polynomials for symmetric groups of up to 11 strands.

We discuss formulas for the asymptotic growth rate of the number of summands in tensor powers in certain (finite or infinite) monoidal categories. Our focus is on monoidal categories with infinitely many indecomposable objects, with our main tools being generalized Perron-Frobenius theory alongside techniques from random walks.
Cellularity of KLR and weighted KLRW algebras via crystals
We prove that the weighted KLRW algebras of finite type, and their cyclotomic quotients, are cellular algebras. The cellular bases are explicitly described using crystal graphs. As a special case, this proves that the KLR algebras of finite type are cellular. As one application, we give explicit formulas for the graded decomposition numbers of the cyclotomic algebras in level one.
