We present bijections between four classes of combinatorial objects. Two of them, the class of unlabeled (2+2)-free posets and a certain class of involutions (or chord diagrams), already appeared in the literature, but were apparently not known to be equinumerous. We present a direct bijection between them. The third class is a family of permutations defined in terms of a new type of pattern. An attractive property of these patterns is that, like classical patterns, they are closed under the action of $D_8$, the symmetry group of the square. The fourth class is formed by certain integer sequences, called ascent sequences, which have a simple recursive structure and are shown to encode (2+2)-free posets and permutations. Our bijections preserve numerous statistics.
We determine the generating function of these classes of objects, thus recovering a non-D-finite series obtained by Zagier for the class of chord diagrams. Finally, we characterize the ascent sequences that correspond to permutations avoiding the barred pattern $3{\bar 1}52{\bar 4}$ and use this to enumerate those permutations, thereby settling a conjecture of Pudwell.
Circular Peaks and Hilbert Series
The circular peak set of a permutation $σ$ is the set $\{σ(i)\mid σ(i-1)<σ(i)>σ(i+1)\}$. Let $\mathcal{P}_n$ be the set of all the subset $S\subseteq [n]$ such that there exists a permutation $σ$ which has the circular set $S$. We can make the set $\mathcal{P}_n$ into a poset $\mathscr{P}_n$ by defining $S\preceq T$ if $S\subseteq T$ as sets. In this paper, we prove that the poset $\mathscr{P}_n$ is a simplicial complex on the vertex set $[3,n]$. We study the $f$-vector, the $f$-polynomial, the reduced Euler characteristic, the M$\ddot{o}$bius function, the $h$-vector and the $h$-polynomial of $\mathscr{P}_n$. We also derive the zeta polynomial of $\mathscr{P}_n$ and give the formula for the number of the chains in $\mathscr{P}_n$. By the poset $\mathscr{P}_n$, we define two algebras $\mathcal{A}_{\mathscr{P}_n}$ and $\mathcal{B}_{\mathscr{P}_n}$. We consider the Hilbert polynomials and the Hilbert series of the algebra $\mathcal{A}_{\mathscr{P}_n}$ and $\mathcal{B}_{\mathscr{P}_n}$.

We consider the inversion enumerator I_n(q), which counts labeled trees or, equivalently, parking functions. This polynomial has a natural extension to generalized parking functions. Substituting q = -1 into this generalized polynomial produces the number of permutations with a certain descent set. In the classical case, this result implies the formula I_n(-1) = E_n, the number of alternating permutations. We give a combinatorial proof of these formulas based on the involution principle. We also give a geometric interpretation of these identities in terms of volumes of generalized chain polytopes of ribbon posets. The volume of such a polytope is given by a sum over generalized parking functions, which is similar to an expression for the volume of the parking function polytope of Pitman and Stanley.
Eulerian quasisymmetric functions and poset topology
We introduce a family of quasisymmetric functions called {\em Eulerian quasisymmetric functions}, which have the property of specializing to enumerators for the joint distribution of the permutation statistics, major index and excedance number on permutations of fixed cycle type. This family is analogous to a family of quasisymmetric functions that Gessel and Reutenauer used to study the joint distribution of major index and descent number on permutations of fixed cycle type. Our central result is a formula for the generating function for the Eulerian quasisymmetric functions, which specializes to a new and surprising $q$-analog of a classical formula for the exponential generating function of the Eulerian polynomials. This $q$-analog computes the joint distribution of excedance number and major index, the only of the four important Euler-Mahonian distributions that had not yet been computed. Our study of the Eulerian quasisymmetric functions also yields results that include the descent statistic and refine results of Gessel and Reutenauer. We also obtain $q$-analogs, $(q,p)$-analogs and quasisymmetric function analogs of classical results on the symmetry and unimodality of the Eulerian polynomials. Our Eulerian quasisymmetric functions refine symmetric functions that have occurred in various representation theoretic and enumerative contexts such as in MacMahon's study of multiset derangements, in work of Procesi and Stanley on toric varieties of Coxeter complexes and in Stanley's work on symmetric chromatic polynomials. Here we present yet another occurence in connection with the homology of a poset introduced by Björner and Welker.

The distinguishing number of a graph $G$ is the smallest positive integer $r$ such that $G$ has a labeling of its vertices with $r$ labels for which there is no non-trivial automorphism of $G$ preserving these labels. Albertson and Collins computed the distinguishing number for various finite graphs, and Imrich, Klavžar and Trofimov computed the distinguishing number of some infinite graphs, showing in particular that the Random Graph has distinguishing number 2. We compute the distinguishing number of various other finite and countable homogeneous structures, including undirected and directed graphs, and posets. We show that this number is in most cases two or infinite, and besides a few exceptions conjecture that this is so for all primitive homogeneous countable structures.
On cobweb posets most relevant codings
One considers here orderable acyclic digraphs named KoDAGs which represent the outmost general chains of dibicliques denoting thus the outmost general chains of binary relations. Because of this fact KoDAGs start to become an outstanding concept of nowadays investigation. We propose here examples of codings of KoDAGs looked upon as infinite hyper-boxes as well as chains of rectangular hyper-boxes in N^\infty. Neither of KoDAGs codings considered here is a poset isomorphism with Pi = <P, \leq>. Nevertheless every example of coding supplies a new view on possible investigation of KoDAGs properties. The codes proposed here down are by now recognized as most relevant codes for practical purposes including visualization. More than that. Employing quite arbitrary sequences F=\{n_F\}_{n\geq 0} infinitely many new representations of natural numbers called base of F number system representations are introduced. These constitute mixed radix-type numeral systems. F base nonstandard positional numeral systems in which the numerical base varies from position to position have picturesque interpretation due to KoDAGs graphs and their correspondent posets which in turn are endowed on their own with combinatorial interpretation of uniquely assigned to KoDAGs F-nomial coefficients. The base of F number systems are used for KoDAGs coding and are interpreted as chain coordinatization in KoDAGs pictures as well as systems of infinite number of boxes sequences of F-varying containers capacity of subsequent boxes. Needless to say how crucial is this base of F number system for KoDAGs hence consequently for arbitrary chains of binary relations. New F based numeral systems are umbral base of F number systems in a sense to be explained in what follows.

We asymptotically determine the size of the largest family F of subsets of {1,...,n} not containing a given poset P if the Hasse diagram of P is a tree. This is a qualitative generalization of several known results including Sperner's theorem.

We consider the functions in two variables on an arbitrary poset, for which the convolution operation is defined. We obtain the generalization of incidence algebra and describe its properties: invertibility, the Jackobson radical, idempotents, regular elements. As a consequence a positive solution of the isomorphism problem for such algebras is obtained.
Reduced Incidence algebras description of cobweb posets and KoDAGs
After identifying the reduced incidence algebra of an arbitrary cobweb poset the very first properties of these algebras are being disclosed.
On incidence algebras description of cobweb posets
The explicite formulas for Mobius function and some other important elements of the incidence algebra of an arbitrary cobweb poset are delivered. For that to do one uses Kwasniewski's construction of his cobweb posets . The digraph representation of these cobweb posets constitutes a newly discovered class of orderable DAG's named here down KoDAGs with a kind of universality now being investigated. Namely cobweb posets' and thus KoDAGs's defining di-bicliques are links of any complete relations' chains.
On Cobweb Posets and Discrete F-Boxes Tilings
F-boxes defined in [6] as hyper-boxes in N^{\infty} discrete space were applied here for the geometric description of the cobweb posetes Hasse diagrams tilings. The F-boxes edges sizes are taken to be values of terms of natural numbers' valued sequence F. The problem of partitions of hyper-boxes represented by graphs into blocks of special form is considered and these are to be called F-tilings. The proof of such tilings' existence for certain sub-family of admissible sequences F is delivered. The family of F-tilings which we consider here includes among others F = Natural numbers, Fibonacci numbers, Gaussian integers with their corresponding F-nomial (Binomial, Fibonomial, Gaussian) coefficients. Extension of this tiling problem onto the general case multi F-nomial coefficients is here proposed. Reformulation of the present cobweb tiling problem into a clique problem of a graph specially invented for that purpose - is proposed here too. To this end we illustrate the area of our reconnaissance by means of the Venn type map of various cobweb sequences families.

Let (P,<) be a finite poset and let G be its comparability graph. If cl(G) is the clutter of maximal cliques of G, we prove that cl(G) satisfies the max-flow min-cut property and that its edge ideal is normally torsion free. We prove that edge ideals of complete admissible uniform clutters are normally torsion free. The normality of a monomial ideal is expressed in terms of blocking polyhedra and the integer decomposition property. For edge ideals of clutters this property completely determine their normality
Characterization of Cobweb Posets as KoDAGs
The characterization of the large family of cobweb posets as DAGs and oDAGs is given. The dim 2 poset such that its Hasse diagram coincide with digraf of arbitrary cobweb poset is constructed.
On Characteristic Polynomials of the Family of Cobweb Posets
This note is a response to one of problems posed by A.K. Kwasniewski in one of his recent papers. Namely for the sequence of finite cobweb subposets, the looked for explicit formulas for corresponding sequence of characteristic polynomials are discovered and delivered here. The recurrence relation defining arbitrary family of charactristic polynomials of finite cobweb posets is also derived.

We study the smallest possible number of points in a topological space having k open sets. Equivalently, this is the smallest possible number of elements in a poset having k order ideals. Using efficient algorithms for constructing a topology with a prescribed size, we show that this number has a logarithmic upper bound. We deduce that there exists a topology on n points having k open sets, for all k in an interval which is exponentially large in n. The construction algorithms can be modified to produce topologies where the smallest neighborhood of each point has a minimal size, and we give a range of obtainable sizes for such topologies.

We introduce a natural partial order in structurally natural finite subsets of the cobweb prefabs sets recently constructed by the present author. Whitney numbers of the second kind of the corresponding subposet which constitute Stirling like numbers triangular array are then calculated and the explicit formula for them is provided. Next, in the second construction we endow the set sums of prefabiants with such an another partial order that their Bell like numbers include Fibonacci triad sequences introduced recently by the present author in order to extend famous relation between binomial Newton coefficients and Fibonacci numbers onto the infinity of their relatives among whom there are also the Fibonacci triad sequences and binomial like coefficients (incidence coefficients included). The first partial order is F sequence independent while the second partial order is F sequence dependent where F is the so called admissible sequence determining cobweb poset by construction. An F determined cobweb posets Hasse diagram becomes Fibonacci tree sheathed with specific cobweb if the sequence F is chosen to be just the Fibonacci sequence. From the stand-point of linear algebra of formal series these are generating functions which stay for the so called extended coherent states of quantum physics. This information is delivered in the last section.

The notion of the Fibonacci cobweb poset from [1] has been naturally extended to any admissible sequence $F$ in [2] where it was also recognized that the celebrated prefab notion of Bender and Goldman [3] - (see also [4,5]) - admits such an extension so as to encompass the new type combinatorial objects from [2] as leading examples. Recently the present author had introduced also [6] two natural partial orders in there: one $\leq$ in grading-natural subsets of cobweb`s prefabs sets [2] and in the second proposal one endows the set sums of the so called "prefabiants" with such another partial order that one arrives at Bell-like numbers including Fibonacci triad sequences introduced by the present author in [7]. Here we quote the basic observations concerning the new type Stirling like numbers as they appear in [6]. For more on notation, Stirling like numbers of the first kind and for proofs - see [6].

In this paper, we study partitions of positive integers into distinct quasifibonacci numbers. A digraph and poset structure is constructed on the set of such partitions. Furthermore, we discuss the symmetric and recursive relations between these posets. Finally, we prove a strong generalization of Robbins' result on the coefficients of a quasifibonacci power series.

Cobweb posets uniquely represented by directed acyclic graphs are such a generalization of the Fibonacci tree that allows joint combinatorial interpretation for all of them under admissibility condition. This interpretation was derived in the source papers ([6,7] and references therein to the first author).[7,6,8] include natural enquires to be reported on here. The purpose of this presentation is to report on the progress in solving computational problems which are quite easily formulated for the new class of directed acyclic graphs interpreted as Hasse diagrams. The problems posed there and not yet all solved completely are of crucial importance for the vast class of new partially ordered sets with joint combinatorial interpretation. These so called cobweb posets - are relatives of Fibonacci tree and are labeled by specific number sequences - natural numbers sequence and Fibonacci sequence included. The cobweb posets might be identified with a chain of di-bicliques i.e. by definition - a chain of complete bipartite one direction digraphs [6]. Any chain of relations is therefore obtainable from the cobweb poset chain of complete relations via deleting arcs in di-bicliques of the complete relations chain. In particular we response to one of those problems [1].
Irreducible Boolean Functions
This paper is a contribution to the study of a quasi-order on the set $Ω$ of Boolean functions, the \emph{simple minor} quasi-order. We look at the join-irreducible members of the resulting poset $\tildeΩ$. Using a two-way correspondence between Boolean functions and hypergraphs, join-irreducibility translates into a combinatorial property of hypergraphs. We observe that among Steiner systems, those which yield join-irreducible members of $\tildeΩ$ are the -2-monomorphic Steiner systems. We also describe the graphs which correspond to join-irreducible members of $\tildeΩ$.
