The Alladi-Gordon identity plays an important role for the Alladi-Gordon generalization of Schur's partition theorem. By using Joichi-Stanton's insertion algorithm, we present an overpartition interpretation for the Alladi-Gordon key identity. Based on this interpretation, we further obtain a combinatorial proof of the Alladi-Gordon key identity by establishing an involution on the underlying set of overpartitions.

Let $B_{k,i}(n)$ be the number of partitions of $n$ with certain difference condition and let $A_{k,i}(n)$ be the number of partitions of $n$ with certain congruence condition. The Rogers-Ramanujan-Gordon theorem states that $B_{k,i}(n)=A_{k,i}(n)$. Lovejoy obtained an overpartition analogue of the Rogers-Ramanujan-Gordon theorem for the cases $i=1$ and $i=k$. We find an overpartition analogue of the Rogers-Ramanujan-Gordon theorem in the general case. Let $D_{k,i}(n)$ be the number of overpartitions of $n$ satisfying certain difference condition and $C_{k,i}(n)$ be the number of overpartitions of $n$ whose non-overlined parts satisfy certain congruences condition. We show that $C_{k,i}(n)=D_{k,i}(n)$. By using a function introduced by Andrews, we obtain a recurrence relation which implies that the generating function of $D_{k,i}(n)$ equals the generating function of $C_{k,i}(n)$. We also find a generating function formula of $D_{k,i}(n)$ by using Gordon marking representations of overpartitions, which can be considered as an overpartition analogue of an identity of Andrews for ordinary partitions.

We give new generalizations of some q-series identities of Dilcher and Prodinger related to divisor functions. Some interesting special cases are also deduced, including an identity related to overpartitions studied by Corteel and Lovejoy.

Bringmann and Lovejoy introduced a rank for overpartition pairs and investigated its role in congruence properties of $\bar{pp}(n)$, the number of overpartition pairs of n. In particular, they applied the theory of Klein forms to show that there exist many Ramanujan-type congruences for the number $\bar{pp}(n)$. In this paper, we shall derive two Ramanujan-type identities and some explicit congruences for $\bar{pp}(n)$. Moreover, we find three ranks as combinatorial interpretations of the fact that $\bar{pp}(n)$ is divisible by three for any n. We also construct infinite families of congruences for $\bar{pp}(n)$ modulo 3, 5, and 9.

We show that the number of anti-lecture hall compositions of n with the first entry not exceeding k-2 equals the number of overpartitions of n with non-overlined parts not congruent to $0,\pm 1$ modulo k. This identity can be considered as a refined version of the anti-lecture hall theorem of Corteel and Savage. To prove this result, we find two Rogers-Ramanujan type identities for overpartition which are analogous to the Rogers-Ramanjan type identities due to Andrews. When k is odd, we give an alternative proof by using a generalized Rogers-Ramanujan identity due to Andrews, a bijection of Corteel and Savage and a refined version of a bijection also due to Corteel and Savage.

This is the third and final installment in our series of papers applying the method of Atkin and Swinnerton-Dyer to deduce formulas for rank differences. The study of rank differences was initiated by Atkin and Swinnerton-Dyer in their proof of Dyson's conjectures concerning Ramanujan's congruences for the partition function. Since then, other types of rank differences for statistics associated to partitions have been investigated. In this paper, we prove explicit formulas for M_2-rank differences for overpartitions. Additionally, we express a third order mock theta function in terms of rank differences.

Generating functions for plane overpartitions are obtained using various methods such as nonintersecting paths, RSK type algorithms and symmetric functions. We extend some of the generating functions to cylindric partitions. Also, we show that plane overpartitions correspond to certain domino tilings and we give some basic properties of this correspondence.

We study two types of crank moments and two types of rank moments for overpartitions. We show that the crank moments and their derivatives, along with certain linear combinations of the rank moments and their derivatives, can be written in terms of quasimodular forms. We then use this fact to prove exact relations involving the moments as well as congruence properties modulo 3, 5, and 7 for some combinatorial functions which may be expressed in terms of the second moments. Finally, we establish a congruence modulo 3 involving one such combinatorial function and the Hurwitz class number H(n).

We show that the Zagier-Eisenstein series shares its non-holomorphic part with certain weak Maass forms whose holomorphic parts are generating functions for overpartition rank differences. This has a number of consequences, including exact formulas, asymptotics, and congruences for the rank differences as well as $q$-series identities of the mock theta type.

We study the combinatorics of two classes of basic hypergeometric series. We first show that these series are the generating functions for certain overpartition pairs defined by frequency conditions on the parts. We then show that when specialized these series are also the generating functions for overpartition pairs with bounded successive ranks, overpartition pairs with conditions on their Durfee dissection, as well as certain lattice paths. When further specialized, the series become infinite products, leading to numerous identities for partitions, overpartitions, and overpartition pairs.

In 1954, Atkin and Swinnerton-Dyer proved Dyson's conjectures on the rank of a partition by establishing formulas for the generating functions for rank differences in arithmetic progressions. In this paper, we prove formulas for the generating functions for rank differences for overpartitions. These are in terms of modular functions and generalized Lambert series.

We extend partition-theoretic work of Andrews, Bressoud, and Burge to overpartitions, defining the notions of successive ranks, generalized Durfee squares, and generalized lattice paths, and then relating these to overpartitions defined by multiplicity conditions on the parts. This leads to many new partition and overpartition identities, and provides a unification of a number of well-known identities of the Rogers-Ramanujan type. Among these are Gordon's generalization of the Rogers-Ramanujan identities, Andrews' generalization of the Göllnitz-Gordon identities, and Lovejoy's ``Gordon's theorems for overpartitions."
