Duality and Macdonald difference operators
Published • View Publication • BIB
This note summarizes certain properties common to Macdonald, Koornwinder and Arthamonov-Shakirov $q$-difference operators, relating to the duality or bi-spectrality properties of their eigenfunctions. This results in Pieri operators which, in the $q$-Whittaker limit, are relativistic difference Toda type Hamiltonians which have a related quantum cluster algebra structure known as the quantum Q-system. The genus-2 result explained here is new.

Correlations for symplectic and orthogonal Schur measures
We show, using either Fock space techniques or Macdonald difference operators, that certain symplectic and orthogonal analogues of Okounkov's Schur measure are determinantal with kernels given by explicit double contour integrals. We give two applications: one equates certain Toeplitz+Hankel determinants of random matrix theory with appropriate Fredholm determinants and computes Szegő asymptotics for the former; another finds that the simplest examples of said measures exhibit discrete sine kernel asymptotics in the bulk and Airy 2 to 1 kernel---along with a certain dual---asymptotics at the edge. We believe the edge behavior to be universal.

Correlation Functions of the Pfaffian Schur Process Using Macdonald Difference Operators
Published in SIGMA 15 (2019), 092, 37 pages • View Publication • BIB
We study the correlation functions of the Pfaffian Schur process. Borodin and Rains [J. Stat. Phys. 121 (2005), 291-317] introduced the Pfaffian Schur process and derived its correlation functions using a Pfaffian analogue of the Eynard-Mehta theorem. We present here an alternative derivation of the correlation functions using Macdonald difference operators.

Stochastic higher spin six vertex model and q-TASEPs
Published • View Publication • BIB
We present two new connections between the inhomogeneous stochastic higher spin six vertex model in a quadrant and integrable stochastic systems from the Macdonald processes hierarchy. First, we show how Macdonald $q$-difference operators with $t=0$ (an algebraic tool crucial for studying the corresponding Macdonald processes) can be utilized to get $q$-moments of the height function $\mathfrak{h}$ in the higher spin six vertex model first computed in arXiv:1601.05770 using Bethe ansatz. This result in particular implies that for the vertex model with the step Bernoulli boundary condition, the value of $\mathfrak{h}$ at an arbitrary point $(N+1,T)\in\mathbb{Z}_{\ge2}\times\mathbb{Z}_{\ge1}$ has the same distribution as the last component $λ_N$ of a random partition under a specific $t=0$ Macdonald measure. On the other hand, it is known that $\mathbf{x}_N:=λ_N-N$ can be identified with the location of the $N$th particle in a certain discrete time $q$-TASEP started from the step initial configuration. The second construction we present is a coupling of this $q$-TASEP and the higher spin six vertex model (with the step Bernoulli boundary condition) along time-like paths providing an independent probabilistic explanation of the equality of $\mathfrak{h}(N+1,T)$ and $\mathbf{x}_N+N$ in distribution. Combined with the identification of averages of observables between the stochastic higher spin six vertex model and Schur measures (which are $t=q$ Macdonald measures) obtained recently in arXiv:1608.01553, this produces GUE Tracy--Widom asymptotics for a discrete time $q$-TASEP with the step initial configuration and special jump parameters.

Correlation Functions of the Schur Process Through Macdonald Difference Operators
Published in Journal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A 131, 88-118 (2015) • View Publication • BIB
Introduced by Okounkov and Reshetikhin, the Schur process is known to be a determinantal point process, meaning that its correlation functions are minors of a single correlation kernel matrix. Previously, this was derived using determinantal expressions for the skew-Schur polynomials. In this paper we obtain this result in a different way, using the fact that the Schur polynomials are eigenfunctions of Macdonald difference operators.
A commutative algebra on degenerate CP^1 and Macdonald polynomials
Published • View Publication • BIB
We introduce a unital associative algebra A over degenerate CP^1. We show that A is a commutative algebra and whose Poincar'e series is given by the number of partitions. Thereby we can regard A as a smooth degeneration limit of the elliptic algebra introduced by one of the authors and Odesskii. Then we study the commutative family of the Macdonald difference operators acting on the space of symmetric functions. A canonical basis is proposed for this family by using A and the Heisenberg representation of the commutative family studied by one of the authors. It is found that the Ding-Iohara algebra provides us with an algebraic framework for the free filed construction. An elliptic deformation of our construction is discussed, showing connections with the Drinfeld quasi-Hopf twisting a la Babelon Bernard Billey, the Ruijsenaars difference operator and the operator M(q,t_1,t_2) of Okounkov-Pandharipande.
