Eigenvalues of $p$-adic random matrices
We develop the basic theory of eigenvalues of $p$-adic random matrices, analogous to the classical theory for random matrices over $\mathbb{R}$ and $\mathbb{C}$. Such eigenvalue statistics were proposed as a model for the zeroes of $p$-adic $L$-functions by Ellenberg-Jain-Venkatesh, who computed the limiting distribution of the number of eigenvalues in a unit disc. We compute the full joint distribution of the $n$ eigenvalues of an $n \times n$ matrix with Haar distribution, obtaining Coulomb gas type formulas as in the archimedean case, with Vandermonde terms leading to eigenvalue repulsion.
From these Coulomb gas density functions we derive asymptotics of eigenvalue statistics as $n \to \infty$. These include exact computations, such as a closed form
$$ρ(x,y) = 1 - θ_3(-\sqrt{p};||x-y||^2/p)$$
for the limiting pair correlation of eigenvalues in $\mathbb{Z}_p$, and similar results in quadratic extensions. Such formulas yield concrete numerical predictions on zeroes of $p$-adic $L$-functions.
For eigenvalues in arbitrary extensions of $\mathbb{Q}_p$ we also give precise estimates on their pair-repulsion and expected number of eigenvalues in each extension. Finally, we compute the asymptotic probability that all eigenvalues lie in $\mathbb{Z}_p$.
Our proofs combine results from several distinct areas: $p$-adic orbital integrals, roots of random $p$-adic polynomials, the Sawin-Wood moment method for random modules, and Markov chains associated with measures on integer partitions.

Carlitz considered integer compositions in which adjacent parts must be unequal. Arndt recently initiated the study of restricted compositions based on conditions applied to certain pairs of parts rather than to individual parts. Here, we combine and generalize these notions, establishing enumeration results using both combinatorial proofs and generating functions. Motivations for our generalizations include the gap-free compositions studied by Hitczenko and Knopfmacher and the Rogers-Ramanujan integer partitions.
Non-archimedean Infinite Hecke Algebra
We study the representation theory of the infinite type A Hecke algebra over a non-Archimedean field in the case where the parameter is a pseudo-uniformizer. Specifically, we consider a family of representations, called almost-symmetric, which satisfy additional topological and algebraic constraints. We give a full classification of the irreducible almost-symmetric representations. These turn out to be indexed by integer partitions arising as topological completions of specific direct limits of Hecke-Specht modules. We give detailed analysis of these representations and construct functionals analogous to finite Hecke algebra traces.

In 2019, Andrews investigated integer partitions in which all parts of a given parity are smaller than those of the opposite parity and introduced eight partition functions based on the parity of the smaller parts and parts of a given parity appearing at most once or an unlimited number of times. Recently, Bringmann, Craig and Nazaroglu studied the asymptotic behavior of the eight partition functions proved several inequalities for sufficiently large $n$. At the end of their paper, they asked for combinatorial proofs of those inequalities. In this paper, we prove that an inequality on partitions separated by parity holds for $n\geq 373$ by a combinatorial method. This answers a question posed by Bringmann, Craig and Nazaroglu.
Partition-theoretic model of prime distribution, II
In recent work by Botkin, Dawsey, Hemmer, Just and the present author, a deterministic model of prime number distribution is developed based on properties of integer partitions that gives almost exact estimates for $π(n)$, the number of primes less than or equal to positive integer $n$, up to $n=10{,}000$. In this follow-up paper, the author summarizes the ideas behind this partition-theoretic model of primes and formulates a computational model that is practically exact in its estimates of $π(n)$ up to $n=100,000$.

Amdeberhan and Merca recently studied arithmetic properties of the sequence $a(n)$, the reciprocal of the crank parity function, which counts the number of integer partitions of weight $n$ whose even parts are monochromatic and whose odd parts may appear in one of three colors (OEIS A298311). A key result of their work was the congruence $a(7n + 2) \equiv 0 \pmod{7}$ for all $n \geq 0$. We prove new congruences for the reciprocal crank parity function modulo powers of $7$.
Extending Andrews and Newman's refinement of the crank-mex theorem

The crank-mex theorem states that the number of integer partitions of $n$ with nonnegative crank equals the number with odd minimal excludant (mex). Andrews and M. Newman recently refined that result in terms of the number of parts greater than one. Here, we establish and expand a complementary result connecting the partitions with even mex, having fixed points, with negative crank, and with positive crank, all refined in terms of number of parts greater than one. We provide both analytic and combinatorial proofs.
On the second largest eigenvalue of certain graphs in the perfect matching association scheme

The perfect matching association scheme is a set of relations on the perfect matchings of the complete graph on $2n$ vertices. The relations between perfect matchings are defined by the cycle structure of the union of any two perfect matchings, and each relation can be represented as a matrix. Each matrix is labeled by an integer partition whose parts correspond to the size do the cycles in the union. Since these matrices form an association scheme, they are simultaneously diagonalizable. Further, it is well-known that the common eigenspaces correspond to the irreducible representations of $S_{2n}$ indexed by the even partitions of $2n$. In this paper, we conjecture that the second largest eigenvalue of the matrices in the perfect matching association scheme labeled by a partition containing at least two parts of size 1 always occurs on the eigenspace corresponding to the representation indexed by $[2n-2, 2]$. We confirm this conjecture for matrices labeled by the partitions $[2, 1^{n-2}], [3, 1^{n-3}], [2, 2, 1^{n-4}], [4, 1^{n-4}], [3, 2, 1^{n-5}]$, and $[5, 1^{n-5}]$, as well as any partition in which the first part is sufficiently large.
Perfect Overpartitions and Factorization of Integers
In his classic text, \emph{Combinatory Analysis}, MacMahon defined a perfect partition of a positive integer $n$ as a partition whose parts contain exactly one partition of every positive integer not exceeding $n$. In this paper we apply the same definition to overpartitions which are integer partitions with the additional property that the final occurrence of each part may be overlined. It turns out that perfect overpartitions are enumerated by ordered factorization functions in which the occurrence of 2 as a factor determines the presence of an overlined part.

We observe that Anzanello's work on the proportion of derangements in affine classical groups over finite fields is related to symplectic and orthogonal Cohen-Lenstra type distributions on integer partitions. This leads to a proof of three q-polynomial identities conjectured by Anzanello, which were crucial for her work.

Motivated by recent work of Hirschhorn and the author, Thejitha and Fathima recently considered arithmetic properties satisfied by the function $a_5(n)$ which counts the number of integer partitions of weight $n$ wherein even parts come in only one color (i.e., they are monochromatic), while the odd parts may appear in one of five colors. They proved two sets of Ramanujan--like congruences satisfied by $a_5(n)$, relying heavily on modular forms. In this note, we prove their results via purely elementary means, utilizing generating function manipulations and elementary $q$-series dissections. We then extensively generalize these two sets of congruences to infinite families of divisibility properties in which the results of Thejitha and Fathima are specific instances.
Latin squares with three disjoint subsquares of the same order
Given an integer partition $P = (h_1h_2\dots h_k)$ of $n$, a realization of $P$ is a latin square with disjoint subsquares of orders $h_1,h_2,\dots,h_k$. Most known results restrict either $k$ or the number of different integers in $P$. There is little known for partitions with arbitrary $k$ and subsquares of at least three orders. It has been conjectured that if $h_1=h_2=h_3\geq h_4\geq\dots\geq h_k$ then a realization of $P$ always exists. We prove this conjecture, and thus show the existence of realizations for many general partitions.
A family of non-uniform distributions on the set of parking functions generated by random permutations
We introduce a rather natural family of non-uniform distributions on $PF_n$, $n\in\mathbb{N}$, the set of parking functions of length $n$. One of the motivations for this comes from a similar situation in the context of integer partitions. For a permutation $σ\in S_n$ and for $j\in[n]$, let $I_{n,<j}(σ)$ denote the number of inversions in $σ$ that involve the number $j$ and a number less than $j$. Let $\tilde I_{n,<j}(σ)=I_{n,<j}(σ)+1$. The map $(σ,τ)\to\left(\tilde I_{n,<τ_1}(σ),\cdots, \tilde I_{n,< τ_n}(σ)\right)$ maps $S_n\times S_n$ onto $PF_n$. Consider the family of distributions $P_n^{(q)}\times P_n$, $q\in(0,\infty)$, on $S_n\times S_n$, where $P_n$ is the uniform distribution on $S_n$ and $P_n^{(q)}$ is the Mallows distribution with parameter $q$ on $S_n$. The Mallows distributions are defined by exponential tilting via the inversion statistic. For each $q>0$, the above map along with the distribution $P_n^{(q)}\times P_n$ induces an exchangeable distribution $\mathcal{P}_n^{(q)}$ on $PF_n$. We study the asymptotic behavior of two fundamental statistics of parking functions under the family of distributions $\mathcal{P}_n^{(q)}$.

In this paper, we introduce a natural geometric extension of the partition function. More precisely, we investigate the problem of counting partitions of a rectangle into rectangular blocks with integer sides. Here, two partitions of a rectangle are indistinguishable if they consist of the same multiset of blocks, their geometric arrangement does not matter.

Andrews and El Bachraoui recently studied various two-colored integer partitions, including those related to two-colored partitions into distinct parts with constraints and overpartitions. Their work raised questions about the existence of combinatorial proofs for these results, which were partially addressed by the first author and Zou. This paper provides combinatorial proofs for the remaining results concerning two-colored partitions and overpartitions with constraints.
Growth and identities of monogenic free adequate monoids
Motivated by recent advances in inverse semigroup theory, we investigate the growth of and identities satisfied by free left and free two-sided adequate monoids. We explicitly compute the growth of the monogenic free left adequate monoid with the usual unary monoid generating set and show it has intermediate growth owing to a connection with integer partitions. In the two-sided case, we establish a lower bound on the (idempotent) growth rate of the monogenic free adequate monoid, showing that it grows exponentially. We completely classify the enriched identities satisfied by the monogenic free left adequate monoid and deduce that it satisfies the same monoid identities as the sylvester monoid. In contrast, we show that the monogenic free two-sided adequate monoid satisfies no non-trivial monoid identities.

In this note, we provide three new, very short proofs of two interesting congruences for Merca's partition function $a(n)$, which enumerates integer partitions where the odd parts have multiplicity at most 2. These modulo 2 congruences were first shown elementarily by Sellers. We then frame $a(n)$ into the much broader context of eta-quotients, and suggest how to comprehensively describe its parity behavior. In particular, extensive computations suggest that $a(n)$ is odd precisely 25\% of the time.
Row Impartial Terminus
We introduce Row Impartial Terminus (RIT), an impartial combinatorial game played on integer partitions. We show that any position in RIT can be uniquely decomposed into a core and a remnant. Our central result is that the Conway pair of any RIT position-which determines the outcome under both normal and misère play-is identical to the Conway pair of a corresponding position in the game of Nim defined by the remnant. This finding provides a complete winning strategy for both variants of RIT, reducing its analysis to the well-understood framework of Nim. As a consequence, we classify RIT within the Conway-Gurvich-Ho hierarchy, showing it to be forced and miserable but not pet.
Combinatorial Extensions on Andrews and El Bachraoui's Almost-Distinct Partitions
Andrews and El Bachraoui recently studied integer partitions where the smallest part is repeated a specified number of times and any other parts are distinct. Their results included two ``surprising identities'' for which they requested combinatorial proofs. We provide combinatorial proofs for an infinite family of related identities and also consider the analogous partitions where only the largest part can be repeated. The results give rise to infinite families of inequalities for the number of partitions with distinct parts.
Separable integer partition classes with restrictions on consecutive parts
Recently, Andrews introduced separable integer partition classes and studied some well-known theorems. In this article, we will consider the types of partitions with restrictions on consecutive parts. We will show that such partitions are separable integer partition classes and then give the generating functions for such partitions.
