Skew hook Schur functions and the cyclic sieving phenomenon
Fix an integer $t \geq 2$ and a primitive $t^{\text{th}}$ root of unity $ω$. We consider the specialized skew hook Schur polynomial $\text{hs}_{λ/μ}(X,ωX,\dots,ω^{t-1}X/Y,ωY,\dots,ω^{t-1}Y)$, where $ω^k X=(ω^k x_1, \dots, ω^k x_n)$, $ω^k Y=(ω^k y_1, \dots, ω^k y_m)$ for $0 \leq k \leq t-1$. We characterize the skew shapes $λ/μ$ for which the polynomial vanishes and prove that the nonzero polynomial factorizes into smaller skew hook Schur polynomials. Then we give a combinatorial interpretation of $\text{hs}_{λ/μ}(1,ω^d,\dots,ω^{d(tn-1)}/1,ω^d,\dots,ω^{d(tm-1)})$, for all divisors $d$ of $t$, in terms of ribbon supertableaux. Lastly, we use the combinatorial interpretation to prove the cyclic sieving phenomenon on the set of semistandard supertableaux of shape $λ/μ$ for odd $t$. Using a similar proof strategy, we give a complete generalization of a result of Lee--Oh (arXiv: 2112.12394, 2021) for the cyclic sieving phenomenon on the set of skew SSYT conjectured by Alexandersson--Pfannerer--Rubey--Uhlin (Forum Math. Sigma, 2021).
Exploring a Delta Schur Conjecture

In \cite{HRW15}, Haglund, Remmel, Wilson state a conjecture which predicts a purely combinatorial way of obtaining the symmetric function $Δ_{e_k}e_n$. It is called the Delta Conjecture. It was recently proved in \cite{GHRY} that the Delta Conjecture is true when either $q=0$ or $t=0$. In this paper we complete a work initiated by Remmel whose initial aim was to explore the symmetric function $Δ_{s_ν} e_n$ by the same methods developed in \cite{GHRY}. Our first need here is a method for constructing a symmetric function that may be viewed as a "combinatorial side" for the symmetric function $Δ_{s_ν} e_n$ for $t=0$. Based on what was discovered in \cite{GHRY} we conjectured such a construction mechanism. We prove here that in the case that $ν=(m-k,1^k)$ with $1\le m< n$ the equality of the two sides can be established by the same methods used in \cite{GHRY}. While this work was in progress, we learned that Rhodes and Shimozono had previously constructed also such a "combinatorial side". Very recently, Jim Haglund was able to prove that their conjecture follows from the results in \cite{GHRY}. We show here that an appropriate modification of the Haglund arguments proves that the polynomial $Δ_{s_ν}e_n$ as well as the Rhoades-Shimozono "combinatorial side" have a plethystic evaluation with hook Schur function expansion.

We introduce a quasisymmetric generalization of Berele and Regev's hook Schur functions and prove that these new quasisymmetric hook Schur functions decompose the hook Schur functions in a natural way. We examine the combinatorics of the quasisymmetric hook Schur functions, providing a relationship to Gessel's fundamental quasisymmetric functions and an analogue of the Robinson-Schensted-Knuth algorithm. We also prove that the multiplication of quasisymmetric hook Schur functions with hook Schur functions behaves the same as the multiplication of quasisymmetric Schur functions with Schur functions.
Schur-finiteness and endomorphisms universally of trace zero via certain trace relations

We provide a sufficient condition that ensures the nilpotency of endomorphisms universally of trace zero of Schur-finite objects in a category of homological type, i.e., a Q-linear tensor category with a tensor functor to super vector spaces. This generalizes previous results about finite-dimensional objects, in particular by Kimura in the category of motives. We also present some facts which suggest that this might be the best generalization possible of this line of proof. To get the result we prove an identity of trace relations on super vector spaces which has an independent interest in the field of combinatorics. Our main tool is Berele-Regev's theory of Hook Schur functions. We use their generalization of the classic Schur-Weyl duality to the "super" case, together with their factorization formula.
Doubly Symmetric Functions
In this paper we introduce doubly symmetric functions, arising from the equivalence of particular linear combinations of Schur functions and hook Schur functions. We study algebraic and combinatorial aspects of doubly symmetric functions, in particular as they form a subalgebra of the algebra of symmetric functions. This subalgebra is generated by the odd power sum symmetric functions. One consequence is that a Schur function itself is doubly symmetric if and only if it is the Schur function of a staircase shape.
Some remarks on the characters of the general Lie superalgebra
We compute an explicit formula the Hilbert (Poincaré) series for the ring of hook Schur functions and (equivalently) the generating function for partitions which fit in a $(k,l)$-hook.
