The $m$-Cover Posets and Their Applications
Published in Advances in Applied Mathematics 69 (2015), pages 65-108 • View Publication • BIB
In this article we introduce the $m$-cover poset of an arbitrary bounded poset $\mathcal{P}$, which is a certain subposet of the $m$-fold direct product of $\mathcal{P}$ with itself. Its ground set consists of multichains of $\mathcal{P}$ that contain at most three different elements, one of which has to be the least element of $\mathcal{P}$, and the other two elements have to form a cover relation in $\mathcal{P}$. We study the $m$-cover poset from a structural and topological point of view. In particular, we characterize the posets whose $m$-cover poset is a lattice for all $m>0$, and we characterize the special cases, where these lattices are EL-shellable, left-modular, or trim. Subsequently, we investigate the $m$-cover poset of the Tamari lattice $\mathcal{T}_{n}$, and we show that the smallest lattice that contains the $m$-cover poset of $\mathcal{T}_{n}$ is isomorphic to the $m$-Tamari lattice $\mathcal{T}_{n}^{(m)}$ introduced by Bergeron and Préville-Ratelle. We conclude this article with a conjectural desription of an explicit realization of $\mathcal{T}_{n}^{(m)}$ in terms of $m$-tuples of Dyck paths.

The full Kostant-Toda hierarchy on the positive flag variety
Published • View Publication • BIB
We study some geometric and combinatorial aspects of the solution to the full Kostant-Toda (f-KT) hierarchy, when the initial data is given by an arbitrary point on the totally non-negative (tnn) flag variety of SL_n(R). The f-KT flows on the tnn flag variety are complete, and their asymptotics are completely determined by the cell decomposition of the tnn flag variety given by Rietsch. We define the f-KT flow on the weight space via the moment map, and show that the closure of each f-KT flow forms an interesting convex polytope generalizing the permutohedron which we call a Bruhat interval polytope. We also prove analogous results for the full symmetric Toda hierarchy, by mapping our f-KT solutions to those of the full symmetric Toda hierarchy. In the Appendix we show that Bruhat interval polytopes are generalized permutohedra, in the sense of Postnikov, and that their edges correspond to cover relations in the Bruhat order.

Extended partial order and applications to tensor products
We extend the preorder on k-tuples of dominant weights of a simple complex Lie algebra g of classical type adding up to a fixed weight $λ$ defined by V. Chari, D. Sagaki and the author. We show that the induced extended partial order on the equivalence classes has a unique minimal and a unique maximal element. For k=2 we compute its size and determine the cover relation. To each k-tuple we associate a tensor product of simple g-modules and we show that for k=2 the dimension increases also along with the extended partial order, generalizing a theorem proved in the aforementioned paper. We also show that the tensor product associated to the maximal element has the biggest dimension among all tuples for arbitrary k, indicating that this might be a symplectic (resp. orthogonal) analogon of the row shuffle defined by Fomin et al. The extension of the partial order reduces the number of elements in the cover relation and may facilitate the proof of an analogon of Schur positivity along the partial order for symplectic and orthogonal types.

Graded posets zeta matrix formula
Published in Bull. Soc. Sci. Lett. Lodz. Ser. Rech. Deform. vol 60 No3 (2010): 99--115 • Search Publication
The way to arrive at formula of zeta matrix for any graded posets with the finite set of minimal elements is delivered following the first reference. This is being achieved via adjacency and zeta matrix description of bipartite digraphs chains, the representatives of graded posets. The bipartite digraphs elements of such chains amalgamate to form corresponding cover relation graded poset digraphs with corresponding adjacency matrices being amalgamated throughout natural join as special adequate database operation. The colligation of reachability and connectivity with the presented description is made explicit. The special posets encoded via kodags directed acyclic graphs as cobeb posets cover relations digraphs are recognized as an example of differential posets subfamily. As on this night one reminisce anniversary of death of distinguished johann bernoulli the first this sylvester night article is to commemorate this date.

Cobweb Posets and KoDAG Digraphs are Representing Natural Join of Relations, their diBigraphs and the Corresponding Adjacency Matrices
Published in Bull. Soc. Sci. Lett. Lodz. Ser. Rech. Deform. vol 60 No1 (2010): 45--65 • Search Publication
Natural join of $di-bigraphs$ that is directed biparted graphs and their corresponding adjacency matrices is defined and then applied to investigate the so called cobweb posets and their $Hasse$ digraphs called $KoDAGs$. $KoDAGs$ are special orderable directed acyclic graphs which are cover relation digraphs of cobweb posets introduced by the author few years ago. $KoDAGs$ appear to be distinguished family of $Ferrers$ digraphs which are natural join of a corresponding ordering chain of one direction directed cliques called $di-bicliques$. These digraphs serve to represent faithfully corresponding relations of arbitrary arity so that all relations of arbitrary arity are their subrelations. Being this $chain -way$ complete if compared with kompletne $Kuratowski$ bipartite graphs their $DAG$ denotation is accompanied with the letter $K$ in front of descriptive abbreviation $oDAG$. The way to join bipartite digraphs of binary into $multi-ary$ relations is the natural join operation either on relations or their digraph representatives. This natural join operation is denoted here by $\os$ symbol deliberately referring to the direct sum $\oplus$ of adjacency matrices as it becomes the case for disjoint $di-bigraphs$.

Saturated chains in composition posets
We study three different poset structures on the set of all compositions. In the first case, the covering relation consists of inserting a part of size one to the left or to the right, or increasing the size of some part by one. The resulting poset was studied by the author in "A poset classifying non-commutative term orders", and then in "Standard paths in another composition poset" where some results about generating functions for standard paths in this poset was established. The latter article was inspired by the work of Bergeron, Bousquet-M{é}lou and Dulucq on "Standard paths in the composition poset", where they studied a poset where there are additional cover relations which allows the insertion of a part of size one anywhere in the composition. Finally, following a suggestion by Richard Stanley we study yet a third which is an extension of the previous two posets. This poset is related to quasi-symmetric functions. For these posets, we study generating functions for saturated chains of fixed width k. We also construct ``labeled'' non-commutative generating functions and their associated languages.
