Given graphs $H$ and $F$, $\mathrm{ex}(n,H,F)$ denotes the largest number of copies of $H$ in $F$-free $n$-vertex graphs. Let $χ(H)<χ(F)=r+1$. We say that $H$ is $F$-Turán-stable if the following holds. For any $\varepsilon>0$ there exists $δ>0$ such that if an $n$-vertex $F$-free graph $G$ contains at least $\mathrm{ex}(n,H,F)-δn^{|V(H)|}$ copies of $H$, then the edit distance of $G$ and the $r$-partite Turán graph is at most $\varepsilon n^2$. We say that $H$ is weakly $F$-Turán-stable if the same holds with the Turán graph replaced by any complete $r$-partite graph $T$. It is known that such stability implies exact results in several cases. We show that complete multipartite graphs with chromatic number at most $r$ are weakly $K_{r+1}$-Turán-stable. Answering a question of Morrison, Nir, Norin, Rzażewski and Wesolek positively, we show that for every graph $H$, if $r$ is large enough, then $H$ is $K_{r+1}$-Turán-stable. Finally, we prove that if $H$ is bipartite, then it is weakly $C_{2k+1}$-Turán-stable for $k$ large enough.

Given nonnegative integers, $s$ and $k$, an $(s,k)$-polar partition of a graph $G$ is a partition $(A,B)$ of $V_G$ such that $G[A]$ and $\overline{G[B]}$ are complete multipartite graphs with at most $s$ and $k$ parts, respectively. If $s$ or $k$ is replaced by $\infty$, it means that there is no restriction on the number of parts of $G[A]$ or $\overline{G[B]}$, respectively. A graph admitting a $(1,1)$-polar partition is usually called a split graph.
In this work, we present some results related to $(s,k)$-polar partitions on two graph classes generalizing split graphs. Our main results include efficient algorithms to decide whether a graph on these classes admits an $(s,k)$-polar partition, as well as upper bounds for the order of minimal $(s,k)$-polar obstructions on such graph families for any $s$ and $k$ (even if $s$ or $k$ is $\infty$).
A note on topological indices and the twin classes of graphs
Topological indices are parameters associated with graphs that have many applications in different areas such as mathematical chemistry. Among various topological indices, the Wiener index is classical \cite{w}. In this paper, we prove a formula for the Wiener index and more general $m$-Steiner Wiener index of an arbitrary graph $G$ in terms of the cardinalities of its twin classes. In particular, we will show that calculating these parameters for the graph $G$ can be reduced to calculating the same for a much smaller graph (in general) called the reduced graph of $G$.
As applications of our main result, the $m$-Steiner Wiener index is explicitly calculated for various important classes of graphs from the literature including
\begin{enumerate}
\item[(a)] Power graphs associated with finite groups,
\item[(b)] Zero divisor graphs and the ideal-based zero divisor graphs associated with commutative rings with unity, and
\item[(c)] Comaximal ideal graphs associated with commutative rings with unity. \end{enumerate} We have also found an upper bound on the $m$-Steiner Wiener index of an infinite class of graphs called the completely joined graphs. As a corollary of this result, we explicitly calculate the $m$-Steiner Wiener index of the complete multipartite graphs.

We prove that for every path H, and every integer d, there is a polynomial f such that every graph G with chromatic number greater than f(t) either contains H as an induced subgraph, or contains as a subgraph the complete d-partite graph with parts of cardinality t. For t = 1 and general d this is a classical theorem of Gyárfás, and for d = 2 and general t this is a theorem of Bonamy et al.
A Jump of the Saturation Number in Random Graphs?

For graphs $G$ and $F$, the saturation number $\textit{sat}(G,F)$ is the minimum number of edges in an inclusion-maximal $F$-free subgraph of $G$. In 2017, Korándi and Sudakov initiated the study of saturation in random graphs. They showed that for constant $p\in (0,1)$, whp $\textit{sat}\left(G(n,p),K_s\right)=\left(1+o(1)\right)n\log_{\frac{1}{1-p}}n$.
We show that for every graph $F$ and every constant $p\in (0,1)$, whp $\textit{sat}\left(G(n,p), F\right)=O(n\ln n)$. Furthermore, if every edge of $F$ belongs to a triangle, then the above is the right asymptotic order of magnitude, that is, whp $\textit{sat}\left(G(n,p),F\right)=Θ(n\ln n)$. We further show that for a large family of graphs $\mathcal{F}$ with an edge that does not belong to a triangle, which includes all the bipartite graphs, for every $F\in \mathcal{F}$ and constant $p\in(0,1)$, whp $\textit{sat}\left(G(n,p),F\right)=O(n)$. We conjecture that this sharp transition from $O(n)$ to $Θ(n\ln n)$ depends only on this property, that is, that for any graph $F$ with at least one edge that does not belong to a triangle, whp $\textit{sat}\left(G(n,p),F\right)=O(n)$.
We further generalise the result of Korándi and Sudakov, and show that for a more general family of graphs $\mathcal{F}'$, including all complete graphs $K_s$ and all complete multipartite graphs of the form $K_{1,1,s_3,\ldots, s_{\ell}}$, for every $F\in \mathcal{F}'$ and every constant $p\in(0,1)$, whp $\textit{sat}\left(G(n,p),F\right)=\left(1+o(1)\right)n\log_{\frac{1}{1-p}}n$. Finally, we show that for every complete multipartite graph $K_{s_1, s_2, \ldots, s_{\ell}}$ and every $p\in \left[\frac{1}{2},1\right)$, $\textit{sat}\left(G(n,p),K_{s_1,s_2,\ldots,s_{\ell}}\right)=\left(1+o(1)\right)n\log_{\frac{1}{1-p}}n$.
Multithreshold multipartite graphs with small parts

A graph is a $k$-threshold graph with thresholds $θ_1, θ_2, \dots, θ_k$ if we can assign a real number $r_v$ to each vertex $v$ such that for any two distinct vertices $u$ and $v$, $uv$ is an edge if and only if the number of thresholds not exceeding $r_u+r_v$ is odd. The threshold number of a graph is the smallest $k$ for which it is a $k$-threshold graph. Multithreshold graphs were introduced by Jamison and Sprague as a generalization of classical threshold graphs. They asked for the exact threshold numbers of complete multipartite graphs. Recently, Chen and Hao solved the problem for complete multipartite graphs where each part is not too small, and they asked for the case when each part has size $3$. We determine the exact threshold numbers of $K_{3, 3, \dots, 3}$, $K_{4, 4, \dots, 4}$ and their complements $nK_3$, $nK_4$. This improves a result of Puleo.

A subset $I$ of the vertex set $V(G)$ of a graph $G$ is called a $k$-clique independent set of $G$ if no $k$ vertices in $I$ form a $k$-clique of $G$. An independent set is a $2$-clique independent set. Let $π_k(G)$ denote the number of $k$-cliques of $G$. For a function $w: V(G) \rightarrow \{0, 1, 2, \dots\}$, let $G(w)$ be the graph obtained from $G$ by replacing each vertex $v$ by a $w(v)$-clique $K^v$ and making each vertex of $K^u$ adjacent to each vertex of $K^v$ for each edge $\{u,v\}$ of $G$. For an integer $m \geq 1$, consider any $w$ with $\sum_{v \in V(G)} w(v) = m$. For $U \subseteq V(G)$, we say that $w$ is uniform on $U$ if $w(v) = 0$ for each $v \in V(G) \setminus U$ and, for each $u \in U$, $w(u) = \left\lfloor m/|U| \right\rfloor$ or $w(u) = \left\lceil m/|U| \right\rceil$. Katona asked if $π_k(G(w))$ is smallest when $w$ is uniform on a largest $k$-clique independent set of $G$. He placed particular emphasis on the Sperner graph $B_n$, given by $V(B_n) = \{X \colon X \subseteq \{1, \dots, n\}\}$ and $E(B_n) = \{\{X,Y\} \colon X \subsetneq Y \in V(B_n)\}$. He provided an affirmative answer for $k = 2$ (and any $G$). We determine graphs for which the answer is negative for every $k \geq 3$. These include $B_n$ for $n \geq 2$. Generalizing Sperner's Theorem and a recent result of Qian, Engel and Xu, we show that $π_k(B_n(w))$ is smallest when $w$ is uniform on a largest independent set of $B_n$. We also show that the same holds for complete multipartite graphs and chordal graphs. We show that this is not true of every graph, using a deep result of Bohman on triangle-free graphs.

A path in an edge-colored graph is said to be rainbow if no color repeats on it. An edge-colored graph is said to be rainbow $k$-connected if every pair of vertices is connected by $k$ internally disjoint rainbow paths. The rainbow $k$-connection number $\mathrm{rc}_k(G)$ is the minimum number of colors $\ell$ such that there exists a coloring with $\ell$ colors that makes $G$ rainbow $k$-connected. Let $f(k,t)$ be the minimum integer such that every $t$-partite graph with part sizes at least $f(k,t)$ has $\mathrm{rc}_k(G) \le 4$ if $t=2$ and $\mathrm{rc}_k(G) \le 3$ if $t \ge 3$. Answering a question of Fujita, Liu and Magnant, we show that
\[
f(k,t) = \left\lceil \frac{2k}{t-1} \right\rceil
\]
for all $k\geq 2$, $t\geq 2$. We also give some conditions for which $\mathrm{rc}_k(G) \le 3$ if $t=2$ and $\mathrm{rc}_k(G) \le 2$ if $t \ge 3$.
Reducing Graph Parameters by Contractions and Deletions

We consider the following problem: for a given graph $G$ and two integers $k$ and $d$, can we apply a fixed graph operation at most $k$ times in order to reduce a given graph parameter $π$ by at least $d$? We show that this problem is NP-hard when the parameter is the independence number and the graph operation is vertex deletion or edge contraction, even for fixed $d=1$ and when restricted to chordal graphs. We give a polynomial time algorithm for bipartite graphs when the operation is edge contraction, the parameter is the independence number and $d$ is fixed. Further, we complete the complexity dichotomy on $H$-free graphs when the parameter is the clique number and the operation is edge contraction by showing that this problem is NP-hard in $(C_3+P_1)$-free graphs even for fixed $d=1$. When the operation is edge deletion and the parameter is the chromatic number, we determine the computational complexity of the associated problem on cographs and complete multipartite graphs. Our results answer several open questions stated in [Diner et al., Theoretical Computer Science, 746, p. 49-72 (2012)].

Edge ideals of finite simple graphs are well-studied over polynomial rings. In this paper, we initiate the study of edge ideals over exterior algebras, specifically focusing on the depth and singular varieties of such ideals. We prove an upper bound on the depth of the edge ideal associated to a general graph and a more refined bound for bipartite graphs, and we show that both are tight. We also compute the depth of several large families of graphs including cycles, complete multipartite graphs, spider graphs, and Ferrers graphs. Finally, we focus on the effect whiskering a graph has on the depth of the associated edge ideal.

A vertex triple $(u,v,w)$ of a graph is called a $2$-geodesic if $v$ is adjacent to both $u$ and $w$ and $u$ is not adjacent to $w$. A graph is said to be $2$-geodesic transitive if its automorphism group is transitive on the set of $2$-geodesics. In this paper, a complete classification of $2$-geodesic transitive graphs of order $p^n$ is given for each prime $p$ and $n\leq 3$. It turns out that all such graphs consist of three small graphs: the complete bipartite graph $K_{4,4}$ of order $8$, the Schläfli graph of order $27$ and its complement, and fourteen infinite families: the cycles $C_p, C_{p^2}$ and $C_{p^3}$, the complete graphs $K_p, K_{p^2}$ and $K_{p^3}$, the complete multipartite graphs $K_{p[p]}$, $K_{p[p^2]}$ and $K_{p^2[p]}$, the Hamming graph $H(2,p)$ and its complement, the Hamming graph $H(3,p)$, and two infinite families of normal Cayley graphs on extraspecial group of order $p^3$ and exponent $p$.
Ramsey multiplicity and the Turán coloring

Extending an earlier conjecture of Erdős, Burr and Rosta conjectured that among all two-colorings of the edges of a complete graph, the uniformly random coloring asymptotically minimizes the number of monochromatic copies of any fixed graph $H$. This conjecture was disproved independently by Sidorenko and Thomason. The first author later found quantitatively stronger counterexamples, using the Turán coloring, in which one of the two colors spans a balanced complete multipartite graph.
We prove that the Turán coloring is extremal for an infinite family of graphs, and that it is the unique extremal coloring. This yields the first determination of the Ramsey multiplicity constant of a graph for which the Burr--Rosta conjecture fails.
We also prove an analogous three-color result. In this case, our result is conditional on a certain natural conjecture on the behavior of two-color Ramsey numbers.

Moreover, the primary non-QE graphs are specified among the complete multipartite graphs.
The covering threshold of a directed acyclic graph by directed acyclic subgraphs

Let $H$ be a directed acyclic graph other than a rooted star. It is known that there are constants $c(H)$ and $C(H)$ such that the following holds for the complete directed graph $D_n$. There are at most $C\log n$ directed acyclic subgraphs of $D_n$ that cover every $H$-copy of $D_n$, while fewer than $c\log n$ directed acyclic subgraphs of $D_n$ do not cover all $H$-copies. Here this dichotomy is considerably strengthened. Let ${\vec G}(n,p)$ denote the random directed graph. The {\em fractional arboricity} of $H$ is $a(H) = max \{\frac{|E(H')|}{|V(H')|-1}\}$, where the maximum is over all non-singleton subgraphs of $H$. If $a(H) = \frac{|E(H)|}{|V(H)|-1}$ then $H$ is {\em totally balanced}. Complete graphs, complete multipartite graphs, cycles, trees, and, in fact, almost all graphs, are totally balanced. It is proved:
1) Let $H$ be a dag with $h$ vertices and $m$ edges other than a rooted star. For every $a^* > a(H)$ there exists $c^* = c^*(a^*,H) > 0$ such that almost surely $G \sim {\vec G}(n,n^{-1/a^*})$ has the property that every set $X$ of at most $c^*\log n$ directed acyclic subgraphs of $G$ does not cover all $H$-copies of $G$. Moreover, there exists $s(H) = m/2 + O(m^{4/5}h^{1/5})$ such that the following stronger assertion holds for any such $X$: There is an $H$-copy in $G$ that has no more than $s(H)$ of its edges covered by each element of $X$.
2) If $H$ is totally balanced then for every $0 < a^* < a(H)$, almost surely $G \sim {\vec G}(n,n^{-1/a^*})$ has a single directed acyclic subgraph that covers all its $H$-copies.
As for the first result, note that if $h=o(m)$ then $s(H)=(1+o_m(1))m/2$ is about half of the edges of $H$. In fact, for infinitely many $H$ it holds that $s(H)=m/2$, optimally. As for the second result, the requirement that $H$ is totally balanced cannot, generally, be relaxed.
Tight globally simple non-zero sum Heffter arrays and biembeddings

Square relative non-zero sum Heffter arrays, denoted by $\mathrm{N}\mathrm{H}_t(n;k)$, have been introduced as a variant of the classical concept of Heffter array. An $\mathrm{N}\mathrm{H}_t(n; k)$ is an $n\times n$ partially filled array with elements in $\mathbb{Z}_v$, where $v=2nk+t$, whose rows and whose columns contain $k$ filled cells, such that the sum of the elements in every row and column is different from $0$ (modulo $v$) and, for every $x\in \mathbb{Z}_v$ not belonging to the subgroup of order $t$, either $x$ or $-x$ appears in the array. In this paper we give direct constructions of square non-zero sum Heffter arrays with no empty cells, $\mathrm{N}\mathrm{H}_t(n;n)$, for every $n$ odd, when $t$ is a divisor of $n$ and when $t\in\{2,2n,n^2,2n^2\}$. The constructed arrays have also the very restrictive property of being "globally simple"; this allows us to get new orthogonal path decompositions and new biembeddings of complete multipartite graphs.
Biembeddings of Archdeacon type: their full automorphism group and their number
Archdeacon, in his seminal paper $[1]$, defined the concept of Heffter array in order to provide explicit constructions of $\mathbb{Z}_{v}$-regular biembeddings of complete graphs $K_v$ into orientable surfaces.
In this paper, we first introduce the quasi-Heffter arrays as a generalization of the concept of Heffer array and we show that, in this context, we can define a $2$-colorable embedding of Archdeacon type of the complete multipartite graph $K_{\frac{v}{t}\times t}$ into an orientable surface. Then, our main goal is to study the full automorphism groups of these embeddings: here we are able to prove, using a probabilistic approach, that, almost always, this group is exactly $\mathbb{Z}_{v}$.
As an application of this result, given a positive integer $t\not\equiv 0\pmod{4}$, we prove that there are, for infinitely many pairs of $v$ and $k$, at least $(1-o(1)) \frac{(\frac{v-t}{2})!}{φ(v)} $ non-isomorphic biembeddings of $K_{\frac{v}{t}\times t}$ whose face lengths are multiples of $k$. Here $φ(\cdot)$ denotes the Euler's totient function. Moreover, in case $t=1$ and $v$ is a prime, almost all these embeddings define faces that are all of the same length $kv$, i.e. we have a more than exponential number of non-isomorphic $kv$-gonal biembeddings of $K_{v}$.
Reciprocal distance energy of complete multipartite graphs
In this paper, first we compute the energy of a special partitioned matrix under some cases. As a consequence, we obtain the reciprocal distance energy of the complete multipartite graph and also we give various other energies of complete multipartite graphs. Next, we show that among all complete k-partite graphs on n vertices, the complete split graph has minimum reciprocal distance energy and the reciprocal distance energy is maximum for the Turan graph. At last, it is shown that the reciprocal distance energy of the complete bipartite graph km,m decreases under deletion of an edge if 2\le m\le 7, whereas the reciprocal distance energy increases if 8 \le m. Also, we show that the reciprocal distance energy of the complete tripartite graph does not increase under edge deletion
DP color functions versus chromatic polynomials (II)

For any connected graph $G$, let $P(G,m)$ and $P_{DP}(G,m)$ denote the chromatic polynomial and DP color function of $G$, respectively. It is known that $P_{DP}(G,m)\le P(G,m)$ holds for every positive integer $m$. Let $DP_\approx$ (resp. $DP_<$) be the set of graphs $G$ for which there exists an integer $M$ such that $P_{DP}(G,m)=P(G,m)$ (resp. $P_{DP}(G,m)<P(G,m)$) holds for all integers $m \ge M$. Determining the sets $DP_\approx$ and $DP_<$ is a key problem on the study of the DP color function. For any edge set $E_0$ of $G$, let $\ell_G(E_0)$ be the length of a shortest cycle $C$ in $G$ such that $|E(C)\cap E_0|$ is odd whenever such a cycle exists, and $\ell_G(E_0)=\infty$ otherwise. Write $\ell_G(E_0)$ as $\ell_G(e)$ if $E_0=\{e\}$.
In this paper, we prove that if $G$ has a spanning tree $T$ such that $\ell_G(e)$ is odd for each $e\in E(G)\setminus E(T)$, the edges in $E(G)\setminus E(T)$ can be labeled as $e_1,e_2,\cdots, e_q$ with $\ell_G(e_i)\le \ell_G(e_{i+1})$ for all $1\le i\le q-1$ and each edge $e_i$ is contained in a cycle $C_i$ of length $\ell_G(e_i)$ with $E(C_i)\subseteq E(T)\cup \{e_j: 1\le j\le i\}$, then $G$ is a graph in $DP_{\approx}$. As a direct application of this conclusion, all plane near-triangulations and complete multipartite graphs with at least three partite sets belong to $DP_{\approx}$. We also show that if $E^*$ is an edge set of $G$ such that $\ell_{G}(E^*)$ is even and $E^*$ satisfies certain conditions, then $G$ belongs to $DP_<$. In particular, if $\ell_G(E^*)=4$, where $E^*$ is a set of edges between two disjoint vertex subsets of $G$, then $G$ belongs to $DP_<$. Both results extend known ones in [DP color functions versus chromatic polynomials, $Advances\ in\ Applied\ Mathematics$ 134 (2022), article 102301].
Blowup polynomials and delta-matroids of graphs

For every finite simple connected graph $G = (V,E)$, we introduce an invariant, its blowup-polynomial $p_G(\{ n_v : v \in V \})$. This is obtained by dividing the determinant of the distance matrix of its blowup graph $G[{\bf n}]$ (containing $n_v$ copies of $v$) by an exponential factor. We show that $p_G({\bf n})$ is indeed a polynomial function in the sizes $n_v$, which is moreover multi-affine and real-stable. This associates a hitherto unexplored delta-matroid to each graph $G$; and we provide a second unexplored one for each tree. As another consequence, we obtain a new characterization of complete multipartite graphs, via the homogenization at $-1$ of $p_G$ being completely/strongly log-concave, i.e., Lorentzian. (These results extend to weighted graphs.) Finally, we show $p_G$ is indeed a graph invariant, i.e., $p_G$ and its symmetries (in the variables ${\bf n}$) recover $G$ and its isometries, respectively.
Heroes in oriented complete multipartite graphs

The dichromatic number of a digraph is the minimum size of a partition of its vertices into acyclic induced subgraphs. Given a class of digraphs $\mathcal C$, a digraph $H$ is a hero in $\mc C$ if $H$-free digraphs of $\mathcal C$ have bounded dichromatic number. In a seminal paper, Berger at al. give a simple characterization of all heroes in tournaments. In this paper, we give a simple proof that heroes in quasi-transitive oriented graphs are the same as heroes in tournaments. We also prove that it is not the case in the class of oriented multipartite graphs, disproving a conjecture of Aboulker, Charbit and Naserasr. We also give a full characterisation of heroes in oriented complete multipartite graphs up to the status of a single tournament on $6$ vertices.
