Gårding Polynomials
We introduce Gårding polynomials, a class of real multivariate polynomials characterized by positivity regions that are invariant under translation by positive vectors and closed under strictly positive affine transformations. We prove that this geometric formulation is equivalent both to a reduction to the multi-affine setting via polarization and to a recursive criterion in terms of partial derivatives. The class of Gårding polynomials strictly extends that of real stable polynomials while preserving many of their structural properties. In particular, multi-affine Gårding polynomials with nonnegative coefficients satisfy the Rayleigh property, and their positive univariate specializations have ultra log-concave coefficient sequences. The Gårding property for several matroid generating functions is preserved under natural matroid operations. As applications, we derive new negative dependence results for generating functions associated with various classes of matroids and graphs, including examples previously beyond the scope of real stability and Lorentzian methods. We further obtain analogous results for characteristic polynomials arising from certain matrix classes.

Exceptional sets for length under restricted families of projections onto lines in $\mathbb{R}^3$
It is shown that if $A \subseteq \mathbb{R}^3$ is a Borel set of Hausdorff dimension $\dim A>1$, and if $ρ_θ$ is orthogonal projection to the line spanned by $( \cos θ, \sin θ, 1 )$, then $ρ_θ(A)$ has positive length for all $θ$ outside a set of Hausdorff dimension at most $\frac{3-\dim A}{2}$.

Sharp Thresholds for Distance Patterns in Random Subsets of $\mathbb Z^d$
Let $d \geq 5$, $0 < γ< d - 2$, and $Ω_N$ be the binomial random subset of $Q_N = [-N,N]^d \cap \mathbb Z^d$ with retention probability $p_N = N^{-γ}$. We prove that, with failure probability of optimal exponential order, every subset $B \subseteq Ω_N$ of fixed positive relative density realizes, at each scale $p_N^{-2/(d - 2)} \lesssim λ\lesssim N^2$, a squared distance of the form $q^2 λ$, where $q$ belongs to a fixed finite set depending only on the dimension and the density. The lower scale $p_N^{-2/(d - 2)}$ is sharp. As a consequence, the squared-distance set $D^2(B)$ of $B$ has maximal order $N^2$ and contains affine copies of every fixed finite subset of $\mathbb Z$. The main new input is a finite multidilate supersaturation theorem for dense subsets of $Q_N$, which, together with boundedness estimates for the associated spherical distance graphs down to the sharp scale, allows us to apply Schacht's transference theorem.

A component-wise inequality for permutation matches
Motivated by the recent paper [Sharp endpoint extension inequalities for the moment curve on finite fields II: an extremal property of the uniform distribution, arXiv:2609.29882], which proves sharp extension inequalities in finite fields via a two-point symmetrization argument, we prove here a more general component-wise inequality for permutation matches that implies theirs.

Positive Bidiagonal Factorizations: Combinatorial Structure, Spectral Theory, and Matrix Continued Fractions
Prescribed positive bidiagonal factorizations of semi-infinite banded matrices reveal spectral, approximation, and integrable structures for arbitrary lower and upper bandwidths. Every cyclic permutation of the factors admits a normalized lower--upper positive factorization. Under suitable degree conditions, factor transfers induce matrix Christoffel transformations, linking the cyclic Darboux orbit to mixed-type Favard theory. Christoffel words determine minimum-height positive refactorizations and the cyclic products that reach them. The associated matrices have two block displacements, reducing to two diagonals for coprime bandwidths. Their finite nonzero spectra lie on a star, and planar networks yield positive radial Stieltjes moment sequences. In the compact radial case star-supported representing measures are characterized by conditions at the origin and negative fractional moments. For coprime bandwidths, a radial moment deformation gives determinant solutions of a sparse Lax hierarchy and synchronizes the cyclic Toda flows. Retaining the prescribed factor order yields matrix continued fractions with explicit Padé-type contact, denominator factorizations, backward evaluation, and error bounds. For bounded nonnegative factors, the convergents are monotone and converge to the least nonnegative solution in the admissible domain. Under the Favard identification, they approximate the mixed-type Weyl matrix. Unbounded factorizations retain the formal approximation; analytic convergence requires a closed realization and stability hypotheses, with an additional identification for measure-defined Weyl matrices. Piñeiro and Jacobi-like systems give applications, including global positive coefficientwise integrable solutions under the stated positivity and AT hypotheses.

Geometric lifting and Freiman's $3k-4$ theorem in compact connected abelian groups
We develop a geometric lifting method for inverse sumset problems in compact connected abelian groups. The first result is an analogue of Freiman's $3k-4$ theorem, that is every compact set $A\subseteq G$ of sufficiently small Haar measure satisfying $μ_G(A+A)<3μ_G(A)$ is contained in a one dimensional Bohr set of measure at most $μ_G(A+A)-μ_G(A)$. This resolves a question of Christ and Iliopoulou. The proof combines Bilu's theorem with a geometric refinement of the spillover argument. We also establish a sharp projection theorem. Under a continuous surjective homomorphism with connected kernel, a compact set of sufficiently small positive measure and doubling at most $K$, where $2\le K<3$, has image of doubling at most $2K-2$, and this factor is best possible. Further consequences include variants of the $3k-4$ theorem for popular sumsets and an inverse theorem for Tao's convolution inequality.

Explicit expressions for iterates of power series
We present several formulas for both the discrete and fractional iterates of an invertible power series $f$, using a new unifying approach based on umbral calculus. Known formulas are extended, and their proofs simplified, while new expressions are introduced. In particular, by employing $q$-calculus identities, we eliminate the requirement for $f'(0)$ to equal $1$ and the resulting general expressions for the iterative logarithm are obtained as well.

Exponential improvements in Rado's covering problem
Let $B^d$ denote the $d$-dimensional Euclidean ball of unit radius. What is the largest constant $f(B^d) \in [0,1]$ with the property that every finite collection $\mathcal{C}$ of unit balls in $\mathbb{R}^d$ admits a disjoint sub-collection $\mathcal{S}$ occupying at least a fraction $f(B^d)$ of the volume of $\mathcal{C}$? This problem was first raised by T. Radó in 1928, for axis-parallel squares in the plane; the author was motivated by a classical covering lemma in real analysis due to Vitali. The case of Euclidean balls was first considered by R. Rado in 1949. Until last year the best known estimates on $f(B^d)$ for unit balls where very far apart: \[ (1+ε_d) 3^{-d} \leq f(B^d) \leq 2^{-d}, \] where $0<ε_d=o_{d\rightarrow \infty}(1)$. Recently, the authors of this note observed that an exponential improvement on the upper bound follows from the Kabatiansky--Levenshtein spherical code bound, while the lower bound was improved by a linear factor by C.~Xie and G.~Ge (see arxiv:2608.09744). The current best estimates for large $d$ are \[ c \cdot d \cdot 3^{-d} \leq f(B^d) \leq 2.447^{-d}, \] where $c>0$ is an absolute constant. Here we offer the first exponential improvement of the lower bound in almost 80 years, which narrows the gap to: \[ 2.910^{-d} \leq f(B^d) \leq 2.447^{-d}. \] Our method is constructive and yields a polynomial time algorithm for finding a disjoint sub-collection realizing the estimate. Moreover the same technique gives similar exponentially improved lower bounds for all symmetric convex bodies satisfying a uniform convexity assumption, e.g., $\ell^p$-balls for all $p\in (1,\infty)$.

The Komlós conjecture for complex discrepancy
The Komlós conjecture is a classic problem in discrepancy theory; it asks whether an absolute constant $K$ exists such that given any $n$ vectors $a_1,\ldots,a_n$ inside the $m$-dimensional Euclidean ball, regardless of how large $m,n$ are, there is always a selection of signs $\varepsilon_1,\ldots,\varepsilon_n$ guaranteeing $$\|\varepsilon_1a_1+\ldots+\varepsilon_na_n\|_\infty \leq K.$$ We show that if the $\varepsilon_i$'s are allowed to take not just the values of $\pm 1$ but any unit modulus complex number, which we refer to as complex discrepancy, then the above inequality holds for a finite, explicit constant $K_{\mathbb{C}}$. Here, the $\ell^\infty$ norm of the resulting vector in $\mathbb{C}^m$ is the largest modulus of its entries, and thus the complex discrepancy of real vectors is equivalent to their rank-$2$ vector discrepancy. This quantity provides an upper bound (modulo uniform constant prefactor) on Gaussian discrepancy -- a discrepancy measure introduced by Chewi, Gerber, Rigollet and Turner. Thus, we also resolve the Komlós conjecture for Gaussian discrepancy. Our paper builds upon the recent work of Bansal and Jiang on the Beck-Fiala and Komlós conjectures, which we approach from the formalism of Burkholder and the Bellman function method from probability and harmonic analysis. Our work was in part motivated by the realization that the complex discrepancy of the columns of any unitary matrix is equal to 1, a fact that follows from a straightforward calculation based on Idel and Wolf's generalization of the Sinkhorn normal form for unitary matrices.
A characterization of idempotent Schur multipliers
We prove that every idempotent Schur multiplier is a finite signed sum of contractive idempotent Schur multipliers. This was conjectured by Katavolos and Paulsen in 2003 and previously known only for translation-invariant Schur multipliers, by the Cohen-Host idempotent theorem. Concretely, we show that any boolean matrix $A$ with Schur multiplier norm at most $γ$ (or equivalently $\lVert A\rVert_{γ_2} \le γ$) can be written as \[ A=\sum_{i=1}^{L}σ_i B_i,\] where $L\leq 2^{Cγ^6}$ for an absolute constant $C$, $σ_i\in\{-1,1\}$ are signs, and each $B_i$ is a contractive idempotent Schur multiplier, that is, a boolean matrix whose $1$-entries form a union of all-one rectangular blocks, with no two blocks sharing a row or a column. As observed by Carenini, a key lemma in our work yields a new proof of the Cohen-Host theorem and gives a simple proof of the quantitative refinements of Green-Sanders and Sanders, with improved bounds. We include a self-contained exposition of these results in the case of finite groups.

Collision Positivity for Three-Variable Symmetric Monomial Inequalities
Let \(λ\succγ\succμ\) be equal-degree exponent partitions with at most three parts, and let \begin{equation*} P_{λ,γ,μ} = J_λ+J_μ-2J_γ, \end{equation*} where \(J_ν\) denotes the symmetric monomial orbit sum associated with \(ν\). We prove a necessary and sufficient collision criterion for the positivity of this three-point majorization difference in three variables. For nonnegative integer exponent partitions, \begin{equation*} P_{λ,γ,μ}(x,y,z)\ge0 \qquad(x,y,z>0) \end{equation*} if and only if \begin{equation*} P_{λ,γ,μ}(t,1,1)\ge0 \qquad(t>0). \end{equation*} Thus the positivity of a genuinely three-variable symmetric polynomial of this form is completely determined by its one-variable restriction to the locus where two variables coincide. The theorem gives a uniform and effectively checkable criterion for an infinite class of symmetric polynomial inequalities. For a fixed integer chain, the global three-variable problem is reduced to a single univariate polynomial inequality, which can often be verified exactly by factorization, Sturm's theorem, or other one-variable methods. The criterion extends well beyond the classical Schur family, produces explicit inequalities outside the Schur pattern, and yields genuine strengthenings and refinements of Schur's inequality.
Finite Free Information Inequalities
We develop finite free information theory for real-rooted polynomials, establishing finite free analogues of entropy and Fisher information monotonicity, as well as the Stam and entropy power inequalities. These results resolve conjectures by Shlyakhtenko and Gribinski and recover inequalities in free probability in the large-degree limit. Equivalently, our results may be interpreted as potential-theoretic inequalities for the zeros of real-rooted polynomials under differential operators which preserve real-rootedness. Our proofs leverage a new connection between score vectors and Jacobians of root maps, combined with convexity results for hyperbolic polynomials. We further characterize the equality cases in our inequalities, which arise from Hermite polynomials.

On Polynomial Progressions Inside Sets of Large Dimension
In this note we connect Sobolev estimates in the context of polynomial averages e.g.\ \begin{align}\label{e:savings} \| \int_0^1 \prod_{k=1}^m f_k(x-t^k) \|_{1} \leq \text{Const} \cdot 2^{-\text{const} \cdot l} \prod_{i=1}^m \| f_k \|_m \end{align} whenever some $f_i$ vanishes on $\{ |ξ| \leq 2^l \}$ to the existence of polynomial progressions inside of sets of sufficiently large Hausdorff dimension, in analogy with work of Peluse in the discrete context. Our strongest results builds off work of Becker-Krause and is as follows: suppose that $\mathcal{P} = \{a_{d_1} t^{d_1}, a_{d_2} t^{d_2},\dots, a_{d_k} t^{d_k}\}$ vanish at the origin at different rates, and that $E \subset [0,1]$ has sufficiently large Hausdorff dimension, \[ 1 - \text{const}(\mathcal{P}) < \text{dim}_H(E) < 1 \] and Hausdorff content bounded away from zero, sufficiently large in terms of its dimension. Then $E$ contains a non-trivial polynomial progression of the form \begin{align} \{ x , x - a_{d_1} t^{d_1}, x - a_{d_2} t^{d_2}, \dots, x - a_{d_k} t^{d_k} \} \subset E, \; \; \; t \neq 0. \end{align} Also, using the Fourier spectrum, we provide a short proof that whenever $E$ supports a measure with both positive Fourier dimension and a sufficiently large Frostman condition, it necessarily contains a non-trivial generalized three-term arithmetic progression of the form \[ \{ x, x - γ_1 t, x- γ_2 t\} \subset E, \; \; \; γ_i \in \mathbb{Q},\ t \neq 0.\]

Sumsets of Ahlfors--David regular sets
We prove that there is an absolute constant $c>0$ such that for every finite $(α,M)$-Ahlfors--David regular set $A\subseteq[N]$ with $0\leqα<1$ and $M\geq2$, we have the sumset estimate \[|A+A|\geq |A|^{1+c(1-α)/\log M}.\] We also prove a corresponding statement for Ahlfors--David regular sets in $[0,1]$. The proof combines a multiscale entropy decomposition with inverse results from additive combinatorics, showing that Ahlfors--David regularity forces a definite entropy gain at each scale. The dependence $1/\log M$ in the exponent is of optimal order.

Block-count constrained harmonic sums: spectral expansion and block-directed Euler-Maclaurin
We determine exactly how harmonic sums, taken over integers with a given number of occurrences of a fixed block of digits, depend on that number of occurrences. Language factorizations, combined with stochastic radix expansions, relate these harmonic sums to the iteration of an operator whose eigenvectors are the Lebesgue measure and distributional derivatives of singular measures. The dual picture is given by a Riesz basis of eigenpolynomials in a suitable Hardy space. The resulting modal expansion admits a natural interpretation as a block-directed Euler-Maclaurin formula interpolating between Euler-Maclaurin and Taylor expansions.
An Elementary Proof of the Hambly-Lyons Uniqueness Theorem
We give a self-contained proof, in the bounded variation setting, of the Hambly--Lyons uniqueness theorem, which states that (total) signature identifies the path up to tree-like equivalences. The argument is organized around two key geometric observations. First, tree-like paths have trivial signature because factorization over a loop in a tree $τ:[0,1]\to T$ is preserved under signature lifts, which follows from an elementary property of planar curves. Second, a path with trivial total signature contains a nontrivial subpath with trivial total signature (the sub-interval lemma). This is proven by applying a winding-number argument to a two-dimensional projection of the signature lift. Collapsing all trivial-signature sub-intervals then defines a compact metric tree $T$ through which the original path factors by virtue of the sub-interval lemma.
Polynomial corners in finite fields beyond the distinct-degree case
We prove a quantitative polynomial Roth theorem for corners in \(\mathbb F_p^2\) for arbitrary pairs of linearly independent polynomials. More precisely, given a positive integer $d$, there are constants $p_0$ and $C$ (depending only on $p$) so that for every $ p>p_0$, if polynomials \(ϕ_1,ϕ_2\in \mathbb \mathbb{F}_p [y]\) are of degree $\leq d$ vanishing at $0$ and are not linearly dependent, then every \(A\subset\mathbb F_p^2\) with $ |A|\ge C p^{2-1/14} $ contains a nontrivial corner $$ (x_1,x_2),\qquad (x_1+ϕ_1(y),x_2),\qquad (x_1,x_2+ϕ_2(y)) $$ for some \(y\in\mathbb F_p^\times\). This improves the estimate $p^{2-1/16}$ of Han--Lacey--Yang and removes the distinct-degree restriction from their quantitative theorem. The main obstruction is the equal-degree resonant case, where the Jacobian argument of Han--Lacey--Yang degenerates. We adjoin the frequency-independent part of the phase to form an augmented map \(\widetilde F:W\to\mathbb A^3\) from the correlation threefold. We prove that this map is generically finite on every top-dimensional geometric component and has no two-dimensional fibre. Using the associated Artin--Schreier sheaf and Katz--Laumon estimates for Fourier transform of perverse sheaves, we obtain square-root cancellation outside an algebraic exceptional set of dimension at most one and uniformly bounded degree. A separate curve-sum argument gives uniform control on the exceptional set. An \(\ell^2\) matrix estimate adapted to such sets completes the resonant case.

Symbolic Integration of Differential Forms: From Abel to Zeilberger
This paper focuses on symbolic integration of differential forms, with a particular emphasis on historical and modern developments, from Abel's addition theorems for Abelian integrals to Zeilberger's creative telescoping for parameterized integrals. It explores closed rational $p$-forms and provides algorithmic approaches for their integration, extending classical results like Hermite reduction and Liouville's theorem. The integration of closed differential forms with parameters is further examined through telescopers, offering a unified framework for handling both algebraic and transcendental cases.
Entropy Expansion for General Polynomial Images of Frostman Random Variables
We prove dyadic entropy expansion for the observables $X+Y$ and $f(X,Y)$ under Frostman nonconcentration hypotheses on a prescribed, possibly dependent law. For an integer $n\ge1$, write $H_n(Z)=H(\lfloor 2^nZ\rfloor)$ for the base-two Shannon entropy at resolution $2^{-n}$; thus $n$ indexes the fineness of the dyadic discretization. For every $0<s<1$ and every real bivariate polynomial outside the family $H(ax+by+c)$, conditional Frostman regularity with common exponent $s$ forces one of the two output entropies to exceed $sn$ by a fixed positive multiple of $n$. Under rectangular Frostman regularity, the same conclusion holds after including the average marginal entropy in the maximum. The proof combines the discretized Elekes--Rónyai and web theorems of Raz and Zahl with simultaneous information profiles and an estimate for mass near critical layers. A second argument, based on Pham's folding estimate and a mutual information penalty, gives explicit gains. If the conditional laws of $X$ given $Y$ and of $Y$ given $X$ have Frostman exponents $s_1,s_2\in(0,1)$, respectively, with $s_1+s_2>4/3$, we obtain $\max\{H_n(X+Y),H_n(f(X,Y))\}\ge (\frac{s_1+s_2}{2}+\varepsilon)n-O(1)$ for an explicit $\varepsilon>0$. Here the baseline averages the two Frostman exponents. We also classify the exceptional coordinate representations and construct obstructions for algebraic affine directions with Frostman constants uniform in the scale.

Estimates for $L^p$ variants of Gowers norms
Motivated by a log-convexity question of Bennett and Tao, we consider Gowers-type functionals defined by $L^p$ norms of multiple autocorrelations. We prove sharp bounds in terms of $L^q$ norms and characterise the near-extremisers on Euclidean spaces as well as locally compact abelian groups. We also establish two families of degree-lowering inequalities and study their near-extremisers. As a byproduct of this broader theory, we show that the constant in the log-convexity estimate for Gowers norms is strictly less than unity, confirming the aforementioned conjecture of Bennett and Tao. Finally, we characterise the values of the parameters for which these Gowers-type functionals necessarily satisfy the triangle inequality on nonnegative measurable functions.
