Alon's conjecture on intersecting families of graphs
Given a graph $F$, a family $\mathcal F$ of graphs on $[n]$ is \emph{$F$-intersecting} if $G\cap H$ contains a copy of $F$ for every $G,H\in\mathcal F$. We prove that there exists an absolute constant $\varepsilon>0$ such that every $P_4$-intersecting family $\mathcal F$ satisfies $|\mathcal F|\le\left(\frac12-\varepsilon\right)2^{\binom n2}$, which resolves a conjecture of Alon. Combined with Alon's reduction, this proves that a graph $F$ admits $F$-intersecting families of asymptotic density $1/2$ if and only if $F$ is a star forest. Multi-colored versions are also considered.
Perfect Matching in $k$-Partite $k$-Uniform Hypergraphs
A balanced $k$-partite $k$-graph is a $k$-uniform hypergraph whose vertex set is partitioned into $k$ classes of the same size and whose edges meet every class in exactly one vertex. Lo and Markström (2014) determined the minimum vertex-degree threshold for perfect matchings when $k=3$, and Lu, Wang and Yuan recently determined it when $k=4$. We prove the corresponding exact result for every fixed $k\ge5$ and all sufficiently large class sizes. The close case follows from the general theorem of Lu, Wang and Yuan. For the non-closed case, we extend their stability result from the 3-partite setting to arbitrary partite uniformity, using the probability-tail rigidity theorem of Cao, Liu and Zhang, thereby replacing the earlier weighted lemma.
Optimally pseudorandom $K_4$-free graphs
We show that optimally pseudorandom $K_4$-free graphs of order $n$ and degree $d = Θ(n^{4/5})$ exist by constructing a graph in the split Cayley hexagon, matching the known upper bound. This resolves the first open case for $K_k$-free graphs after $k=3$ for which Alon gave a tight construction in 1994.
This has a variety of implications for $K_4$-free pseudorandom graphs. Furthermore, it implies an explicit lower bound on the Ramsey number of $r(4, t) \geq t^{1.\overline{6} - o(1)}$, improving the previous record by Kostochka, Pudlák, and Rödl of $r(4, t) \geq t^{1.6-o(1)}$.
Exact Minimum $d$-Degree Thresholds for Hypergraph Perfect Matchings
For fixed integers $k\ge3$ and $1\le d\le k-1$ and sufficiently large $n\in k\mathbb N$, we establish the sharp minimum $d$-degree thresholds that forces perfect matching in every $n$-vertex $k$-uniform hypergraphs. This was conjectued by Treglown and Zhao, and the $d=1$ case was conjectued by Kühn, Osthus and Treglown.
Tight Hamiltonian Cycles in Uniformly Dense $3$-Graphs
We study minimum degree conditions for tight Hamiltonian cycles in uniformly dense $3$-uniform hypergraphs. We prove that for every $d,α>0$, every sufficiently large $(ρ,d)$-dense $3$-graph on $n$ vertices with minimum codegree at least $(1/3+α)n$ contains a tight Hamiltonian cycle. This resolves a problem of Aigner-Horev and Levy in a stronger form, and the constant $1/3$ is asymptotically best possible. We also show that uniform density does not lower the asymptotic vertex-degree threshold: there are $(ρ,d)$-dense $3$-graphs with minimum vertex degree $(5/9-o(1))\binom{n}{2}$ and no tight Hamiltonian cycle. Finally, we construct $(ρ,2-\sqrt{3})$-dense examples with minimum codegree $(2-\sqrt{3}-o(1))n$ and no tight Hamiltonian cycle, answering negatively a question of Ara{ú}jo, Piga and Schacht.
On the number of factorable induced subgraphs
Let $F$ be an $r$-vertex graph. In this paper, we study the $F$-factor problem in random induced subgraphs of dense graphs. We show that for any $r$-vertex graph $F$ and $γ>0$, if $H$ is an $n$-vertex graph with minimum degree at least $(1-1/χ_{cr}(F)+γ)n$, then for every fixed $p \in (0,1)$, the random induced subgraph $H[p]$ contains an $F$-factor with probability at least $1/(rq)-o_n(1)$, where $q\in \mathbb{N}$ is the order of certain coset group defined from $H$. The probability is asymptotically best possible for infinitely many $F$ and $H$ and yields that a $1/(rq)-o_n(1)$ proportion of the subsets of $H$ induce $F$-factors, interestingly, regardless of whether $H$ itself admits an $F$-factor. Similar results are obtained for perfect matchings in hypergraphs under minimum degree conditions. Our proof combines concentration inequalities, lattice point counting in $\mathbb{Z}^d$ and structural theorems for $F$-factors in dense (hyper)graphs.
Decision problem for Hamilton $2$-cycles in $4$-graphs
A $4$-uniform $2$-cycle in a $4$-uniform hypergraph of length $t$ is a cyclic ordering of $2t$ vertices $v_1v_2\cdots v_{2t}v_1$ such that $v_{2i+1}v_{2i+2}v_{2i+3}v_{2i+4}$ are edges for $0\le i\le t-1$ while the addition is modulo $2t$.
For every $γ>0$ and large $n$, we characterize the $n$-vertex $4$-uniform hypergraphs such that every triple of vertices is contained in at least $(1/3+γ)n$ edges and admits a Hamilton $2$-cycle. Up to the error term $γn$, the assumption on the minimum codegree is best possible and verifies a conjecture of Garbe and Mycroft. As a consequence, this gives a polynomial-time algorithm that decides whether an $n$-vertex $4$-uniform hypergraph with minimum codegree $(1/3+γ)n$ contains a Hamilton $2$-cycle. This stands as a steep contrast to the graph case where such a hardness gap has size $o(n)$.
Note on the codegree version of the Erdős--Ko--Rado theorem
Kupavskii proved a codegree version of the Erdős--Ko--Rado theorem by showing that for an intersecting family $\mathcal{F} \subseteq \binom{[n]}{k}$ with $n \geq 2k +3d/(1-d/k)$, the minimum $d$-degree of $\mathcal{F}$ is at most $\binom{n-d-1}{k-d-1}$. Huang and Zhang improved the bound on $n$ to $n \geq 2k+2d-3$. In this short note, we prove that if $d = k-1$, then the bound on $n$ can be improved to $2k + \sqrt{2k} + O(1)$. In addition, we extend our method to show that the bound on $n$ can be improved to $2k + 7k^{2/3}+O(k^{1/3})$ when $d=k-2$.
The perturbation threshold of degenerate graphs
We show that for any $d\ge 2$ and $Δ>0$ there exists $η>0$ such that the following holds: Let $G$ be an $n$-vertex graph with at least $Ω(n^2)$ edges and let $H$ be an $n$-vertex $d$-degenerate graph with maximum degree at most $Δ$. Then with high probability, $G \cup G(n, n^{-1/d - η})$ contains a copy of $H$. We also prove that the same conclusion extends to $d$-regular graphs with $d\ge 4$ satisfying a certain edge expansion property, with the threshold improved to $n^{-2/d - η}$. Such a property is satisfied by almost all
$d$-regular graphs and for even $d$, by the $(d/2)$-th power of a Hamilton cycle.
Exact minimum co-degree conditions for $\ell$-Hamiltonicity in hypergraphs
Suppose $1\le \ell <k$ such that $(k-\ell)\nmid k$. Given an $n$-vertex $k$-uniform hypergraph $\mathcal H$, for all $k/2<\ell< 3k/4$ and sufficiently large $n\in (k-\ell)\mathbb N$, we prove that if $\mathcal H$ has minimum co-degree at least $\frac{n}{\lceil \frac{k}{k-\ell}\rceil (k-\ell)}$, then $\mathcal H$ contains a Hamilton $\ell$-cycle, which partially verifies a conjecture of Han and Zhao and (partially) resolves a problem of Rödl and Ruciński. Moreover, we show that assuming minimum co-degree $\frac{n}{\lceil \frac{k}{k-\ell}\rceil (k-\ell)}+\frac{k^2}2$ is enough for all $\ell$.
Robustness for expander graphs
We study robust versions of properties of $(n,d,λ)$-graphs, namely, the property of a random sparsification of an $(n,d,λ)$-graph, where each edge is retained with probability $p$ independently. We prove such results for the containment problem of perfect matchings, Hamiltonian cycles, and triangle factors. These results address a series of problems posed by Frieze and Krivelevich.
First we prove that given $γ>0$, for sufficient large $n$, any $(n,d,λ)$-graph $G$ with $λ=o(d)$, $d=Ω(\log n)$ and $p\ge\frac{(1+γ)\log n}{d}$, $G\cap G(n,p)$ contains a Hamiltonian cycle (and thus a perfect matching if $n$ is even) with high probability. This result is asymptotically optimal.
Moreover, we show that for sufficient large $n$, any $(n,d,λ)$-graph $G$ with $λ=o(\frac{d^2}{n})$, $d=Ω(n^{\frac{5}{6}}\log^{\frac{1}{2}}n)$ and $p\gg d^{-1}n^{\frac{1}{3}}\log^{\frac{1}{3}} n$, $G\cap G(n,p)$ contains a triangle factor with high probability. Here, the restrictions on $p$ and $λ$ are asymptotically optimal.
Our proof for the triangle factor problem uses the iterative absorption approach to build a spread measure on the triangle factors, and we also prove and use a coupling result for triangles in the random subgraph of an expander $G$ and the hyperedges in the random subgraph of the triangle-hypergraph of $G$.
Clique-factors in graphs with low $K_{\ell}$-independence number
Given $r\in \mathbb{N}$ with $r\geq 4$, we show that there exists $n_0\in \mathbb{N}$ such that for every $n\geq n_0$, every $n$-vertex graph $G$ with $δ(G)\geq (\frac{1}{2}+o(1))n$ and $α_{r-2}(G)=o(n)$ contains a $K_{r}$-factor. This resolves the first open case of a question proposed by Nenadov and Pehova, and reiterated by Knierm and Su. We further introduce two lower bound constructions that, along with some known results, fully resolve a question presented by Balogh, Molla, and Sharifzadeh.
Perturbation of dense graphs
In the past two decades, various properties of randomly perturbed/augmented (hyper)graphs have been intensively studied, since the model was introduced by Bohman, Frieze and Martin in 2003. The model usually considers a deterministic graph $G$ with minimum degree condition, perturbed/augmented by a binomial random graph $G(n,p)$ on the same vertex set. In this paper, we show that for many problems of finding spanning subgraphs, one can indeed relax the minimum degree condition to a density condition. This includes the embedding problem for $F$-factors when $F$ is not a forest, graphs with bounded maximum degree, $r$-th power of $k$-uniform tight Hamilton cycles for $r,k\ge 2$, and $k$-uniform Hamilton $\ell$-cycles for $\ell\in[2,k-1]$. These results strengthen the results of Balogh, Treglown, and Wagner, of Böttcher, Montgomery, Parczyk, and Person, and of Chang, Han and Thoma.
Transversal packings in families of percolated hypergraphs
Let $F$ be a strictly $1$-balanced $k$-graph on $s$ vertices with $t$ edges and $δ_{F,d}^T$ be the infimum of $δ>0$ such that for every $α>0$ and sufficiently large $n\in \mathbb{N}$, every $k$-graph system $\mathbf H=\{H_{1}, H_{2}, \dots ,H_{tn}\}$ on the same $sn$ vertices with $δ_d(H_i)\ge (δ+α)\binom{sn-d}{k-d}$, $i\in [tn]$ contains a transversal $F$-factor, that is, an $F$-factor consisting of exactly one edge from each $H_i$. In this paper we prove the following result. Let $\mathbf{H} =\{H_{1}, H_{2}, \dots ,H_{tn}\}$ be a $k$-graph system where each $H_{i}$ is an $sn$-vertex $k$-graph with $δ_d(H_i)\ge (δ_{F,d}^T+α)\binom{sn-d}{k-d}$. Then with high probability $\mathbf{H}(p) :=\{H_{1}(p), H_{2}(p), \dots ,H_{tn}(p)\}$ contains a transversal $F$-factor, where $H_i(p)$ is a random subhypergraph of $H_i$ and $p=Ω(n^{-1/d_1(F)-1}(\log n)^{1/t})$. This extends a recent result by Kelly, Müyesser and Pokrovskiy, and independently by Joos, Lang and Sanhueza-Matamala. Moreover, the assumption on $p$ is best possible up to a constant. Along the way, we also obtain a spread version of a result of Pikhurko on perfect matchings in $k$-partite $k$-graphs.

The decision problem of perfect matchings in uniform hypergraphs is famously an NP-complete problem. It has been shown by Keevash--Knox--Mycroft [STOC, 2013] that for every $\varepsilon>0$, such decision problem restricted to $k$-uniform hypergraphs $H$ satisfying that every $(k-1)$-set of vertices is in at least $(1/k+\varepsilon)|H|$ edges is tractable, and the quantity $1/k$ is best possible. In this paper we study the existence of perfect matchings in the random $p$-sparsification of such $k$-uniform hypergraphs, that is, for $p=p(n)\in [0,1]$, every edge is kept with probability $p$ independent of others. As a consequence, we give a polynomial-time algorithm that with high probability solves the decision problem; we also derive effective bounds on the number of perfect matchings in such hypergraphs. At last, similar results are obtained for the $F$-factor problem in graphs.
The key ingredients of the proofs are a strengthened partition lemma for the lattice-based absorption method, and the random redistribution method developed recently by Kelly, Müyesser and Pokrovskiy, based on the spread method.

An $r$-uniform linear cycle of length $\ell$, denoted by $C^r_{\ell}$, is an $r$-graph with $\ell$ edges $e_1,e_2,\dots,e_{\ell}$ where $e_i=\{v_{(r-1)(i-1)},v_{(r-1)(i-1)+1},\dots,v_{(r-1)i}\}$ (here $v_0=v_{(r-1)\ell}$). For $0<δ<1$ and $n$ sufficiently large, we show that every $n$-vertex $r$-graph $G$ with $n^{r-δ}$ edges contains at least $n^{(r-1)(2\ell+1)-δ(2\ell+1+\frac{4\ell-1}{(r-1)(2\ell+1)-3})-o(1)}$ copies of $C^r_{2\ell+1}$. Further, conditioning on the existence of dense high-girth hypergraphs, we show that there exists $n$-vertex $r$-graphs with $n^{r-δ}$ edges and at most $n^{(r-1)(2\ell+1)-δ(2\ell+1+\frac{1}{(r-1)\ell-1})+o(1)}$ copies of $C^r_{2\ell+1}$.

We show that for $ η>0 $ and sufficiently large $ n $, every 5-graph on $ n $ vertices with $δ_{2}(H)\ge (91/216+η)\binom{n}{3}$ contains a Hamilton 2-cycle. This minimum 2-degree condition is asymptotically best possible. Moreover, we give some related results on Hamilton $ \ell $-cycles with $ d $-degree for $\ell\le d \le k-1$ and $1\le \ell < k/2$.

The Pósa--Seymour conjecture determines the minimum degree threshold for forcing the $k$th power of a Hamilton cycle in a graph. After numerous partial results, Komlós, Sárközy and Szemerédi proved the conjecture for sufficiently large graphs. In this paper we focus on the analogous problem for digraphs and for oriented graphs. We asymptotically determine the minimum total degree threshold for forcing the square of a Hamilton cycle in a digraph. We also give a conjecture on the corresponding threshold for $k$th powers of a Hamilton cycle more generally. For oriented graphs, we provide a minimum semi-degree condition that forces the $k$th power of a Hamilton cycle; although this minimum semi-degree condition is not tight, it does provide the correct order of magnitude of the threshold. Turán-type problems for oriented graphs are also discussed.
Ramsey--Dirac theory for bounded degree hypertrees
Ramsey--Turán theory considers Turán type questions in Ramsey-context, asking for the existence of a small subgraph in a graph $G$ where the complement $\overline{G}$ lacks an appropriate subgraph $F$, such as a clique of linear size. Similarly, one can consider Dirac-type questions in Ramsey context, asking for the existence of a spanning subgraph $H$ in a graph $G$ where the complement $\overline{G}$ lacks an appropriate subgraph $F$, which we call a Ramsey--Dirac theory question.
When $H$ is a connected spanning subgraph, the disjoint union $K_{n/2}\cup K_{n/2}$ of two large cliques shows that it is natural to consider complete bipartite graphs $F$. Indeed, Han, Hu, Ping, Wang, Wang and Yang in 2024 proved that if $G$ is an $n$-vertex graph with $δ(G)=Ω(n)$ where the complement $\overline{G}$ does not contain any complete bipartite graph $K_{m,m}$ with $m=Ω(n)$, then $G$ contains every $n$-vertex bounded degree tree $T$ as a subgraph.
Extending this result to the Ramsey--Dirac theory for hypertrees, we prove that if $G$ is an $n$-vertex $r$-uniform hypergraph with $δ(G)=Ω(n^{r-1})$ where the complement $\overline{G}$ does not contain any complete $r$-partite hypergraph $K_{m,m,\dots, m}$ with $m=Ω(n)$, then $G$ contains every $n$-vertex bounded degree hypertree $T$ as a subgraph. We also prove the existence of matchings and loose Hamilton cycles in the same setting, which extends the result of Mcdiarmid and Yolov into hypergraphs.
This result generalizes the universality result on randomly perturbed graphs by Böttcher, Han, Kohayakawa, Montgomery, Parczyk and Person in 2019 into hypergraphs and also strengthen the results on quasirandom hypergraphs by Lenz, Mubayi and Mycroft in 2016 and Lenz and Mubayi in 2016 into hypergraphs satisfying a much weaker pseudorandomness condition.
On the thresholds of degenerate hypergraphs
An $n$-vertex $k$-uniform hypergraph $G$ is $(d,α)$-degenerate if $m_1(G)\le{d}$ and there exists a constant $\varepsilon >0$ such that for every subset $U\subseteq{V(G)}$ with size $2\le|U|\le{\varepsilon n}$, we have $e\left(G[U]\right)\le{d\left(|U|-1\right)-α}$. These hypergraphs include many natural graph classes, such as the degenerate hypergraphs, the planar graphs, and the power of cycles. In this paper, we consider the threshold of the emergence of a $(d,α)$-degenerate hypergraph with bounded maximum degree in the Erdős-Rényi model. We show that its threshold is at most $n^{-1/d}$, improving previous results of Riordan and Kelly-Müyesser-Pokrovskiy.
