For $N \geq 2$, an $N$-qubit doily is a doily living in the $N$-qubit symplectic polar space. These doilies are related to operator-based proofs of quantum contextuality. Following and extending the strategy of Saniga et al. (Mathematics 9 (2021) 2272) that focused exclusively on three-qubit doilies, we first bring forth several formulas giving the number of both linear and quadratic doilies for any $N > 2$. Then we present an effective algorithm for the generation of all $N$-qubit doilies. Using this algorithm for $N=4$ and $N=5$, we provide a classification of $N$-qubit doilies in terms of types of observables they feature and number of negative lines they are endowed with. We also list several distinguished findings about $N$-qubit doilies that are absent in the three-qubit case, point out a couple of specific features exhibited by linear doilies and outline some prospective extensions of our approach.
Generalizing the Mukai Conjecture to the symplectic category and the Kostant game

In this paper we pose the question of whether the (generalized) Mukai inequalities hold for compact, positive monotone symplectic manifolds. We first provide a method that enables one to check whether the (generalized) Mukai inequalities hold true. This only makes use of the almost complex structure of the manifold and the analysis of the zeros of the so-called generalized Hilbert polynomial, which takes into account the Atiyah-Singer indices of all possible line bundles. We apply this method to generalized flag varieties. In order to find the zeros of the corresponding generalized Hilbert polynomial we introduce a modified version of the Kostant game and study its combinatorial properties.
Symplectic inner product graphs and their automorphisms
A new graph, called the symplectic inner product graph $Spi\big(2ν,q\big)$, over a finite field $\mathbb{F}_q$ is introduced. We show that $Spi\big(2ν,q\big)$ is connected with diameter $4$ if and only if $ν\geq2$ and the automorphism group of $Spi\big(2ν,q\big)$ is determined. Two necessary and sufficient conditions for two vertices of $Spi\big(2ν,q\big)$ and two edges of $Spi\big(2ν,q\big)$ respectively are in the same orbit under the action of the automorphism group of $Spi\big(2ν,q\big)$ are obtained.

We classify symplectic 4-dimensional semifields over $\mathbb{F}_q$, for $q\leq 9$, thereby extending (and confirming) the previously obtained classifications for $q\leq 7$. The classification is obtained by classifying all symplectic semifield subspaces in $\mathrm{PG}(9,q)$ for $q\leq 9$ up to $K$-equivalence, where $K\leq \mathrm{PGL}(10,q)$ is the lift of $\mathrm{PGL}(4,q)$ under the Veronese embedding of $\mathrm{PG}(3,q)$ in $\mathrm{PG}(9,q)$ of degree two. Our results imply the non-existence of non-associative symplectic 4-dimensional semifields for $q$ even, $q\leq 8$. For $q$ odd, and $q\leq 9$, our results imply that the isotopism class of a symplectic non-associative 4-dimensional semifield over $\mathbb{F}_q$ is contained in the Knuth orbit of a Dickson commutative semifield.

The dimension of an irreducible representation of $GL(n,\mathbb{C})$, $Sp(2n)$, or $SO(n)$ is given by the respective hook-length and content formulas for the corresponding partition. The first author, inspired by the Nekrasov-Okounkov formula, conjectured combinatorial interpretations of analogous expressions involving hook-lengths and symplectic/orthogonal contents. We prove special cases of these conjectures. In the process, we show that partitions of $n$ with all symplectic contents non-zero are equinumerous with partitions of $n$ into distinct even parts. We also present Beck-type companions to this identity. In this context, we give the parity of the number of partitions into distinct parts with odd (respectively, even) rank. We study the connection between the sum of hook-lengths and the sum of inversions in the binary representation of a partition. In addition, we introduce a new partition statistic, the $x$-ray list of a partition, and explore its connection with distinct partitions as well as partitions maximally contained in a given staircase partition.

We characterise the symplectic Weyl group elements such that the FFLV basis is compatible with the PBW filtration on symplectic Demazure modules, extending type A results by the second author. Surprisingly, the number of such elements depends not on the type A or C of the Lie algebra but on the rank only.

Toric quasifolds are highly singular spaces that were first introduced in order to address, from the symplectic viewpoint, the longstanding open problem of extending the classical constructions of toric geometry to those simple convex polytopes that are not rational. We illustrate toric quasifolds, and their atlases, by describing some notable examples. We conclude with a number of considerations.

We show the existence of quasi-cluster $\mathcal{A}$-structures and cluster Poisson structures on moduli stacks of sheaves with singular support in the alternating strand diagram of grid plabic graphs by studying the microlocal parallel transport of sheaf quantizations of Lagrangian fillings of Legendrian links. The construction is in terms of contact and symplectic topology, showing that there exists an initial seed associated to a canonical relative Lagrangian skeleton. In particular, mutable cluster $\mathcal{A}$-variables are intrinsically characterized via the symplectic topology of Lagrangian fillings in terms of dually $\mathbb{L}$-compressible cycles. New ingredients are introduced throughout this work, including the initial weave associated to a grid plabic graph, cluster mutation along a non-square face of a plabic graph, the concept of the sugar-free hull, and the notion of microlocal merodromy. Finally, a contact geometric realization of the DT-transformation is constructed for shuffle graphs, proving cluster duality for the cluster ensembles.
Realizability in tropical geometry and unobstructedness of Lagrangian submanifolds

We say that a tropical subvariety $V\subset \mathbb R^n$ is $B$-realizable if it can be lifted to an analytic subset of $(Λ^*)^n$. When $V$ is a smooth curve or hypersurface, there always exists a Lagrangian submanifold lift $L_V\subset (\mathbb C^*)^n$. We prove that whenever $L_V$ has well-defined Floer cohomology, we can find for each point of $V$ a Lagrangian torus brane whose Lagrangian intersection Floer cohomology with $L_V$ is non-vanishing. Assuming an appropriate homological mirror symmetry result holds for toric varieties, it follows that whenever $L_V$ is a Lagrangian submanifold that can be made unobstructed by a bounding cochain, the tropical subvariety $V$ is $B$-realizable. As an application, we show that the Lagrangian lift of a genus zero tropical curve is unobstructed, thereby giving a purely symplectic argument for Nishinou and Siebert's proof that genus-zero tropical curves are $B$-realizable. We also prove that tropical curves inside tropical abelian surfaces are $B$-realizable.

A new construction of strongly regular graphs with parameters of the complement symplectic graph

The symplectic graph Sp(2d, q) is the collinearity graph of the symplectic space of dimension 2d over a finite field of order q. A k-regular graph on v vertices is a divisible design graph with parameters (v, k, lambda_1, lambda_2 ,m,n) if its vertex set can be partitioned into m classes of size n, such that any two different vertices from the same class have lambda_1 common neighbours, and any two vertices from different classes have lambda_2 common neighbours whenever it is not complete or edgeless. In this paper we propose a new construction of strongly regular graphs with the parameters of the complement of the symplectic graph using divisible design graphs.
Powers in finite orthogonal and symplectic groups: A generating function approach

For an integer $M\geq 2$ and a finite group $G$, an element $α\in G$ is called an $M$-th power if it satisfies $A^M=α$ for some $A\in G$. In this article, we will deal with the case when $G$ is finite symplectic or orthogonal group over a field of order $q$. We introduce the notion of $M^*$-power SRIM polynomials. This, amalgamated with the concept of $M$-power polynomial, we provide the complete classification of the conjugacy classes of regular semisimple, semisimple, cyclic and regular elements in $G$, which are $M$-th powers, when $(M,q)=1$. The approach here is of generating functions, as worked on by Jason Fulman, Peter M. Neumann, and Cheryl Praeger in the memoir "A generating function approach to the enumeration of matrices in classical groups over finite fields". As a byproduct, we obtain the corresponding probabilities, in terms of generating functions.

The Johnson graph $J(v, k)$ has as vertices the $k$-subsets of $\mathcal{V}=\{1,\ldots, v\}$, and two vertices are joined by an edge if their intersection has size $k-1$. An \emph{$X$-strongly incidence-transitive code} in $J (v, k)$ is a proper vertex subset $Γ$ such that the subgroup $X$ of graph automorphisms leaving $Γ$ invariant is transitive on the set $Γ$ of `codewords', and for each codeword $Δ$, the setwise stabiliser $X_Δ$ is transitive on $Δ\times (\mathcal{V}\setminus Δ)$. We classify the \emph{$X$-strongly incidence-transitive codes} in $J(v,k)$ for which $X$ is the symplectic group $\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}(2)$ acting as a $2$-transitive permutation group of degree $2^{2n-1}\pm 2^{n-1}$, where the stabiliser $X_Δ$ of a codeword $Δ$ is contained in a \emph{geometric} maximal subgroup of $X$. In particular, we construct two new infinite families of strongly incidence-transitive codes associated with the reducible maximal subgroups of $\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}(2)$.
Three-Qubit-Embedded Split Cayley Hexagon is Contextuality Sensitive

It is known that there are two non-equivalent embeddings of the split Cayley hexagon of order two into $\mathcal{W}(5,2)$, the binary symplectic polar space of rank three, called classical and skew. Labelling the 63 points of $\mathcal{W}(5,2)$ by the 63 canonical observables of the three-qubit Pauli group subject to the symplectic polarity induced by the (commutation relations between the elements of the) group, the two types of embedding are found to be quantum contextuality sensitive. In particular, we show that the complement of a classically-embedded hexagon is not contextual, whereas that of a skewly-embedded one is.
Cross $t$-intersecting families for symplectic polar spaces
Let $\mathscr{P}$ be a symplectic polar space over a finite field $\mathbb{F}_q$, and $\mathscr{P}_m$ denote the collection of all $k$-dimensional totally isotropic subspace in $\mathscr{P}$. Let $\mathscr{F}_1\subset\mathscr{P}_{m_1}$ and $\mathscr{F}_2\subset\mathscr{P}_{m_2}$ satisfy $\dim(F_1\cap F_2)\ge t$ for any $F_1\in\mathscr{F}_1$ and $F_2\in\mathscr{F}_2$. We say they are cross $t$-intersecting families. Moreover, we say they are trivial if each member of them contains a fixed $t$-dimensional totally isotropic subspace. In this paper, we show that cross $t$-intersecting families with maximum product of sizes are trivial. We also describe the structure of non-trivial $t$-intersecting families with maximum product of sizes.
The multiplicity of a singularity in a vexillary Schubert variety

In a classical-type flag variety, we consider a Schubert variety associated to a vexillary (signed) permutation, and establish a combinatorial formula for the Hilbert-Samuel multiplicity of a point on such a Schubert variety. The formula is expressed in terms of excited Young diagrams, and extends results for Grassmannians due to Krattenthaler, Lakshmibai-Raghavan-Sankaran, and for the maximal isotropic (symplectic and orthogonal) Grassmannians to Ghorpade-Raghavan, Raghavan-Upadhyay, Kreiman, and Ikeda-Naruse. We also provide a new proof of a theorem of Li-Yong in the type A vexillary case. The main ingredient is an isomorphism between certain neighborhoods of fixed points, known as Kazhdan-Lusztig varieties, which, in turn, relies on a direct sum embedding previously used by Anderson-Fulton to relate vexillary loci to Grassmannian loci.

We give bijective proofs of orthosymplectic analogues of the Cauchy identity and dual Cauchy identity for orthosymplectic Schur functions. To do so, we present two insertion algorithms; these are orthosymplectic versions of Berele's symplectic insertion algorithms, which were used by Sundaram to give bijective proofs of Cauchy identities for symplectic Schur functions.
Cocrystals of symplectic Kashiwara-Nakashima tableaux, symplectic Willis like direct way, virtual keys and applications
We attach a $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ crystal, called cocrystal, to a symplectic Kashiwara-Nakashima (KN) tableau, whose vertices are skew KN tableaux connected via the Lecouvey-Sheats symplectic \emph{jeu de taquin}. These cocrystals contain all the needed information to compute right and left keys of a symplectic KN tableau. Motivated by Willis' direct way of computing type $A$ right and left keys, we also give a way of computing symplectic, right and left, keys without the use of the symplectic \emph{jeu de taquin}. On the other hand, we prove that Baker virtualization by folding $A_{2n-1}$ into $C_n$ commutes with dilatation of crystals. Thus we may alternatively utilize this Baker virtualization to embed a type $C_n$ Demazure crystal, its opposite and atoms into $A_{2n-1}$ ones. The right, respectively left keys of a KN tableau are thereby computed as $A_{2n-1}$ semistandard tableaux and returned back via reverse Baker embedding to the $C_n$ crystal as its right respectively left symplectic keys. In particular, Baker embedding also virtualizes the crystal of Lakshmibai-Seshadri paths as $B_n$-paths into the crystal of Lakshmibai-Seshadri paths as $\mathfrak{S}_{2n}$-paths. Lastly, as an application of our explicit symplectic right and left key maps, thanks to the isomorphism between Lakshmibai-Seshadri path and Kashiwara crystals we use, similarly to the ${{Gl}(n,\mathbb{C})}$ case, left and right key maps as a tool to test whether a symplectic KN tableau is \emph{standard} on a Schubert or Richardson variety in the flag variety $Sp(2n,\mathbb{C})/B$, with $B$ a Borel subgroup.

We introduce certain generalisations of the characters of the classical Lie groups, extending the recently defined factorial characters of Foley and King. In this extension, the factorial powers are replaced with an arbitrary sequence of polynomials, as in Sergeev-Veselov's generalised Schur functions and Okada's generalised Schur P- and Q-functions. We also offer a similar generalisation for the rational Schur functions. We derive Littlewood-type identities for our generalisations. These identities allow us to give new (unflagged) Jacobi-Trudi identities for the Foley-King factorial characters and for rational versions of the factorial Schur functions. We also propose an extension of the original Macdonald's ninth variation of Schur functions to the case of symplectic and orthogonal characters, which helps us prove Nägelsbach-Kostka identities.
On the moments of moments of random matrices and Ehrhart polynomials

There has been significant interest in studying the asymptotics of certain generalised moments, called the moments of moments, of characteristic polynomials of random Haar-distributed unitary and symplectic matrices, as the matrix size $N$ goes to infinity. These quantities depend on two parameters $k$ and $q$ and when both of them are positive integers it has been shown that these moments are in fact polynomials in the matrix size $N$. In this paper we classify the integer roots of these polynomials and moreover prove that the polynomials themselves satisfy a certain symmetry property. This confirms some predictions from the thesis of Bailey. The proof uses the Ehrhart-Macdonald reciprocity for rational convex polytopes and certain bijections between lattice points in some polytopes.
