Sharp planar Turán bounds for quasi-double stars
We study $W$-free planar graphs for $W\in\{W_{2,4},W_{2,5},W_{3,4}\}$, where the quasi-double star $W_{h,k}$ is obtained from a three-vertex path by attaching $h$ leaves to one endpoint and $k$ leaves to the other. We prove that every $W_{2,4}$-free planar graph on $n$ vertices has at most $9n/4$ edges, and the bound is attained whenever $8\mid n$. This determines the planar Turán density of $W_{2,4}$ as $9/4$. We also establish the sharp upper bound $5n/2$ for $W_{2,5}$. Combined with known constructions of planar graphs of maximum degree five, it yields $\ex_{\PP}(n,W_{2,5})=\lfloor5n/2\rfloor$ for every $n\ge15$. These results close the two corresponding coefficient gaps in the bounds of Liu et~al. Our proofs use structural restrictions on high-degree vertices, local deletions, and degree deficits in neighborhoods of radius two. For $W_{3,4}$, we characterize the planar graphs with a dominating vertex that avoid this tree and determine their exact extremal number, $\lfloor(5n-7)/2\rfloor$, for every $n\ge10$. Finally, $W$-free planar triangulations have at most eight, twelve, and eleven vertices for $W=W_{2,4},W_{2,5},W_{3,4}$, respectively; the first two bounds are sharp.

Hamilton-connected cores and five cycle--wheel Ramsey numbers
Let $W_s=K_1+C_{s-1}$ denote the wheel on $s$ vertices. We give structural proofs that $R(C_{14},W_{11})=27$ and $R(C_{15},W_{11})=29$. Together with the theorem of Chen et al. for $n\ge16$, these equalities give $R(C_n,W_{11})=2n-1$ for every $n\ge14$. The two boundary values were included in an earlier survey announcement. We also give structural proofs of $R(C_8,W_7)=15$, $R(C_9,W_7)=17$, and $R(C_8,W_9)=15$. The common starting point is a Hamilton-connected core lemma. For the eleven-vertex wheel, bounds on vertex connectivity and on the matching number of a bipartite graph associated with a local cycle yield a vertex cut of order nine. Paths with prescribed endpoints then rule out every possible pair of orders of the two remaining vertex sets. For the smaller wheels, we use the structure of critical cycle colorings and local cycle-shortening arguments. We also give complete structural classifications of the $(C_8,C_6)$- and $(C_9,C_6)$-critical colorings, recovering the previously reported counts 24 and 26. All proofs are combinatorial and use no exhaustive graph enumeration.

On the packing coloring of base-3 Sierpiński and $H$ graphs
Published • View Publication • BIB
For a nondecreasing sequence of integers $S=(s_1, s_2, \ldots)$ an $S$-packing $k$-coloring of a graph $G$ is a mapping from $V(G)$ to $\{1, 2,\ldots,k\}$ such that vertices with color $i$ have pairwise distance greater than $s_i$. By setting $s_i = d + \lfloor \frac{i-1}{n} \rfloor$ we obtain a $(d,n)$-packing coloring of a graph $G$. The smallest integer $k$ for which there exists a $(d,n)$-packing coloring of $G$ is called the $(d,n)$-packing chromatic number of $G$. In the special case when $d$ and $n$ are both equal to one we speak of the packing chromatic number of $G$. We determine the packing chromatic number of the base-3 Sierpiński graphs $S_k$ and provide new results on $(d,n)$-packing chromatic colorings, $d \le 2$, for this class of graphs. By using a dynamic algorithm, we establish the packing chromatic number for $H$-graphs $H(r)$.
Changing and unchanging 2-rainbow independent domination

For a function $f : V(G ) \rightarrow \{0, 1, 2\}$ we denote by $V_i$ the set of vertices to which the value $i$ is assigned by $f$, i.e. $V_i = \{ x \in V (G ) : f(x ) = i \}$. If a function $f: V(G) \rightarrow \{0,1,2\}$ satisfying the condition that $V_i$ is independent for $i \in \{1,2\}$ and every vertex $u$ for which $f(u) = 0$ is adjacent to at least one vertex $v$ for which $f(v) = i$ for each $i \in \{1,2\}$, then $f$ is called a 2-rainbow independent dominating function (2RiDF). The weight $w(f)$ of a 2RiDF $f$ is the value $w(f) = |V_1|+|V_2|$. The minimum weight of a 2RiDF on a graph $G$ is called the \emph{2-rainbow independent domination number} of $G$. A graph $G$ is 2-rainbow independent domination stable if the 2-rainbow independent domination number of $G$ remains unchanged under removal of any vertex. In this paper, we characterize 2-rainbow independent domination stable trees and we study the effect of edge removal on 2-rainbow independent domination number in trees.
The characterization of perfect Roman domination stable trees
A \emph{perfect Roman dominating function} (PRDF) on a graph $G = (V, E)$ is a function $f : V \rightarrow \{0, 1, 2\}$ satisfying the condition that every vertex $u$ for which $f(u) = 0$ is adjacent to exactly one vertex $v$ for which $f(v) = 2$. The weight of a PRDF is the value $w(f) = \sum_{u \in V}f(u)$. The minimum weight of a PRDF on a graph $G$ is called the \emph{perfect Roman domination number $γ_R^p(G)$} of $G$. A graph $G$ is perfect Roman domination domination stable if the perfect Roman domination number of $G$ remains unchanged under the removal of any vertex. In this paper, we characterize all trees that are perfect Roman domination stable.

Tree-colorable maximal planar graphs
A tree-coloring of a maximal planar graph is a proper vertex $4$-coloring such that every bichromatic subgraph, induced by this coloring, is a tree. A maximal planar graph $G$ is tree-colorable if $G$ has a tree-coloring. In this article, we prove that a tree-colorable maximal planar graph $G$ with $δ(G)\geq 4$ contains at least four odd-vertices. Moreover, for a tree-colorable maximal planar graph of minimum degree 4 that contains exactly four odd-vertices, we show that the subgraph induced by its four odd-vertices is not a claw and contains no triangles.

Size of edge-critical uniquely 3-colorable planar graphs
Published • View Publication • BIB
A graph $G$ is \emph{uniquely k-colorable} if the chromatic number of $G$ is $k$ and $G$ has only one $k$-coloring up to permutation of the colors. A uniquely $k$-colorable graph $G$ is edge-critical if $G-e$ is not a uniquely $k$-colorable graph for any edge $e\in E(G)$. Mel'nikov and Steinberg [L. S. Mel'nikov, R. Steinberg, One counterexample for two conjectures on three coloring, Discrete Math. 20 (1977) 203-206] asked to find an exact upper bound for the number of edges in a edge-critical 3-colorable planar graph with $n$ vertices. In this paper, we give some properties of edge-critical uniquely 3-colorable planar graphs and prove that if $G$ is such a graph with $n(\geq6)$ vertices, then $|E(G)|\leq \frac{5}{2}n-6 $, which improves the upper bound $\frac{8}{3}n-\frac{17}{3}$ given by Matsumoto [N. Matsumoto, The size of edge-critical uniquely 3-colorable planar graphs, Electron. J. Combin. 20 (3) (2013) $\#$P49]. Furthermore, we find some edge-critical 3-colorable planar graphs which have $n(=10,12, 14)$ vertices and $\frac{5}{2}n-7$ edges.
