Packing Tails of Reciprocal Rectangles into Squares of Equal Area
The Meir--Moser rectangle-packing problem asks whether all rectangles with side lengths \(1/n\) and \(1/(n+1)\), for \(n\ge1\), can be packed into the unit square with pairwise disjoint interiors. We establish a tail version of this problem. Let \(R_n\) denote the rectangle with these side lengths. We prove that there exists an integer \(m_0\) such that, for every \(m\ge m_0\), the family \(\{R_n:n\ge m\}\) admits a packing, by translations and right-angle rotations, into a square of side length \(m^{-1/2}\), with pairwise disjoint interiors. The area of the square equals the sum of the areas of all the rectangles. The geometric construction recursively decomposes rectangular gaps, while local randomized quotas and random permutations assign subsequent integer indices. We separately control the total area of waiting gaps and the assignment load at each index. The proof is organized in six steps: a finite-prefix reduction, geometric row decompositions, an area bootstrap, a sharp source-load estimate, control of the actual adaptive construction, and a compactness limit. For every finite time horizon, the probability of failure has a bound that is independent of the horizon and can be made arbitrarily small. The adaptive step uses a permanent load ledger, actual fresh height queries, and a one-sided comparison with a frozen source experiment. Compactness then yields an infinite packing. The final packing statements have been checked in Lean 4. A sufficient threshold is \(m_0=10^{1000}\). This result applies only to sufficiently late tails and does not resolve the original Meir--Moser rectangle-packing problem for the full sequence starting at \(n=1\), which remains open.

On Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of factorial association schemes II
The Terwilliger algebras of association schemes over an arbitrary field $\mathbb{F}$ were called the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of association schemes in [10]. In [7], He and Jiang studied the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of factorial association schemes. In this paper, we continue studying the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of factorial association schemes. We get all block idempotents of the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of factorial association schemes. We get the $\mathbb{F}$-dimensions, the centers, the Jacobson radicals of the block algebras of the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of factorial association schemes.

On Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of factorial association schemes
The Terwilliger algebras of association schemes over an arbitrary field $\mathbb{F}$ were called the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of association schemes in [9]. In this paper, we study the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of factorial association schemes. We determine the centers, the semisimplicity, the Jacobson radicals and their nilpotent indices, the Wedderburn-Artin decompositions of the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of factorial association schemes. Moreover, we determine all Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of factorial association schemes that are the symmetric $\mathbb{F}$-algebras or the Frobenius $\mathbb{F}$-algebras.

On elementary abelian 2-hypergroups
Published • View Publication • BIB
A hypergroup is called an elementary abelian 2-hypergroup if it is a constrained direct product of the closed subsets of two elements. In this paper, the elementary abelian 2-hypergroups are studied. All closed subsets and all strongly normal closed subsets of the elementary abelian 2-hypergroups are determined. The numbers of all closed subsets and all strongly normal closed subsets of the elementary abelian 2-hypergroups are given. A criterion for the isomorphic closed subsets of the elementary abelian 2-hypergroups is displayed. The automorphism groups of all closed subsets of the elementary abelian 2-hypergroups are presented.

The Terwilliger algebras of association schemes over an arbitrary field $\mathbb{F}$ were briefly called the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of association schemes in [9]. In this paper, the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of direct products of group divisible association schemes are studied. The centers, the semisimplicity, the Jacobson radicals and their nilpotent indices, the Wedderburn-Artin decompositions of the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of direct products of group divisible association schemes are obtained.

Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of certain Cayley tables
Let $\mathbb{F}$ be an arbitrary field. In this paper, we continue studying the Terwilliger algebras of association schemes over $\mathbb{F}$ that were called the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of association schemes in [8]. We determine the algebraic structures of the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of the association schemes induced from the Cayley tables of elementary abelian $2$-groups, which provides infinite many examples and counterexamples for the study of the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of association schemes.
On Some Generalized Vertex Folkman Numbers
Published • View Publication • BIB
For a graph $G$ and integers $a_i\ge 1$, the expression $G \rightarrow (a_1,\dots,a_r)^v$ means that for any $r$-coloring of the vertices of $G$ there exists a monochromatic $a_i$-clique in $G$ for some color $i \in \{1,\cdots,r\}$. The vertex Folkman numbers are defined as $F_v(a_1,\dots,a_r;H) = \min\{|V(G)| : G$ is $H$-free and $G \rightarrow (a_1,\dots,a_r)^v\}$, where $H$ is a graph. Such vertex Folkman numbers have been extensively studied for $H=K_s$ with $s>\max\{a_i\}_{1\le i \le r}$. If $a_i=a$ for all $i$, then we use notation $F_v(a^r;H)=F_v(a_1,\dots,a_r;H)$. Let $J_k$ be the complete graph $K_k$ missing one edge, i.e. $J_k=K_k-e$. In this work we focus on vertex Folkman numbers with $H=J_k$, in particular for $k=4$ and $a_i\le 3$. A result by Nešetřil and Rödl from 1976 implies that $F_v(3^r;J_4)$ is well defined for any $r\ge 2$. We present a new and more direct proof of this fact. The simplest but already intriguing case is that of $F_v(3,3;J_4)$, for which we establish the upper bound of 135 by using the $J_4$-free process. We obtain the exact values and bounds for a few other small cases of $F_v(a_1,\dots,a_r;J_4)$ when $a_i \le 3$ for all $1 \le i \le r$, including $F_v(2,3;J_4)=14$, $F_v(2^4;J_4)=15$, and $22 \le F_v(2^5;J_4) \le 25$. Note that $F_v(2^r;J_4)$ is the smallest number of vertices in any $J_4$-free graph with chromatic number $r+1$. Most of the results were obtained with the help of computations, but some of the upper bound graphs we found are interesting by themselves.

A note on modular Terwilliger algebras of association schemes
Published • View Publication • BIB
Let $p$ denote a prime number. In this note, we focus on the modular Terwilliger algebras of association schemes defined in [3]. We define the primary module of a modular Terwilliger algebra of an association scheme and determine all its composition factors up to isomorphism. We then characterize the $p'$-valenced association schemes by some properties of their modular Terwilliger algebras. The corollaries about the modular Terwilliger algebras of association schemes are given.

On Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of quasi-thin association schemes
Published • View Publication • BIB
In [3], Hanaki defined the Terwilliger algebras of association schemes over a commutative unital ring. In this paper, we call the Terwilliger algebras of association schemes over a field $\mathbb{F}$ the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of association schemes and study the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of quasi-thin association schemes. As main results, we determine the $\mathbb{F}$-dimensions, the semisimplicity, the Jacobson radicals, and the algebraic structures of the Terwilliger $\mathbb{F}$-algebras of quasi-thin association schemes. We also get some results with independent interests.

On some $p$-transitive association schemes
Published • View Publication • BIB
In this paper, for any prime $p$, we propose the notion of a $p$-transitive association scheme. This notion aims to generalize the fact that the regular module of a group algebra of a finite group has a unique trivial submodule to the case of the regular modules of modular adjacency algebras. We completely determine the $p$-transitive quasi-thin association schemes and the $p$-transitive association schemes with thin thin residue by their structure theory properties.
