A Conjecture on Circular Permutations over Finite Fields
Let \(\mathbb{F}_q\) be a finite field with \(q>7\). Zhi-Wei Sun conjectured that for every \(a_0\in\mathbb{F}_q\), there is a circular permutation \((a_1,\dots,a_{q-1})\) of non-zero elements of \(\mathbb{F}_q\) such that \(a_0+a_i a_{i+1}\) is primitive for \(1\le i\le q-1\), where \(a_q=a_1\). In this paper, we confirm this conjecture for \(q>18\,888\,871\). For \(a_0=0\), the conclusion holds for all \(q>4\). For \(a_0\ne0\), we apply the Chvátal--Erdős theorem to obtain a Hamilton cycle.

Proof of a conjecture on permutations
Given a positive integer $n$, define a function on the symmetric group $S_n$ by $$F(τ) = \sum_{k=1}^{n}k^2τ(k)^2.$$ Motivated by a conjecture of Zhi-Wei Sun, we investigate the residue classes attained by $F(τ)$ modulo $2n+1$. We prove that for every integer $n>4$, the set $\{F(τ):τ\in S_n\}$ contains a complete residue system modulo $2n+1$. The proof is based on a family of involutions whose values are controlled by subset sums of squares.

On an inverse problem for restricted sumsets
Let $n$ be a positive integer, and let $A$ be a set of $k\ge 2n-1$ integers. For the restricted sumset $$ S_n(A)=\{a_1+\cdots +a_n:\ a_1,\ldots,a_n\in A,\ \text{and}\ a_i^2\neq a_j^2\ \text{for} \ 1\le i<j\le n\}, $$ by a 2002 result of Liu and Sun we have $$|S_n(A)|\ge (k-1)n-\frac 32n(n-1)+1.$$ In this paper, we determine the structure of $A$ when the lower bound is attained.
