Polynomial Corners Over finite Fields
Recently there has been some progress in understanding the density of a subset of $[N]^2$ that avoids polynomial patterns. Kravitz, Kuca, and Leng showed that if $P\in\mathbb{Z}[z]$ satisfies certain conditions, then any set $A\subseteq[N]^2$ does not contain $(x,y),(x+P(z),y),(x,y+P(z))$, we must have \[ |A|\ll_P\frac{N^2}{(\log\log\log N)^c} \] for some small constant $c$. In this article, we show a similar result in $(\mathbb{F}_p)^2$ where we get a better bound on the density of a set $A\subseteq (\mathbb{F}_p)^2$ not containing $(x,y),(x+P(z),y),(x,y+P(z))$ with some conditions on $P\in \mathbb{F}_p[z]$.

Binary necklaces with minimum nontrivial rotational Hamming distance 2
We classify and count binary necklaces [w] for which the representative-independent minimum nontrivial rotational Hamming distance minDist(w) equals 2, the first positive layer after the periodic case. With a fixed priority convention, the set of nonzero shifts attaining distance 2 determines a classification into half-turn (HT), single-pair (SP), and subgroup-pattern (SUB) classes, while the residual multi-pair (MP) class is empty. We give closed formulas for the HT, SP, and SUB counts and an explicit Mobius-totient divisor-sum formula for |D_2(n)|. We also describe the larger subgroup-shaped branch, which contains the SUB cases together with boundary cases assigned by priority to HT and SP, by a quotient-background normal form and its boundary counts. For odd prime lengths p, every distance-2 necklace is rotation-equivalent to an arithmetic interval on the prime cycle, and |D_2(p)| = (p^2 - 4p + 7)/2.

On saturation problems involving clique number and matching number
For a clique $K_r$, a graph is $K_r$-saturated if it contains no copy of $K_r$ and the addition of any edge from its complement creates a $K_r$. A classical result of Erdős-Hajnal-Moon and Zykov shows that the number of edges of an $n$-vertex $K_r$-saturated graph is at least $(r-2)n-\binom{r-1}{2}$. In this paper, we focus on the number of edges of the $K_r$-saturated graphs with a fixed matching number. Let $G$ be an $n$-vertex $K_r$-saturated graph with matching number $ν(G) = s$. For sufficiently large $n$, we prove that the number of edges \begin{equation*} e(G)\geq \left\{\begin{array}{cl}{(r-1)n-\frac{r}{2}(r-1)-1,}&{\quad\mathrm{if}~s=r-1;}\\{(r-1)n + (s-r)^2 - \frac{1}{2}(r+2)(r-3) - 5,}&{\quad\mathrm{if}~s>r-1.}\\\end{array}\right. \end{equation*} Moreover, we completely characterize the graphs attaining the equality.
Towards the Lovász conjecture via sublinear expanders
Lovász' famous Hamiltonicity conjecture (1969) states that every connected vertex-transitive graph has a Hamiltonian path. A stronger version of the conjecture, often attributed to Thomassen (1978), states that every sufficiently large such graph even has a Hamiltonian cycle. Despite the great amount of attention these conjectures have attracted over the past decades both in the combinatorial and algebraic communities, for more than 40 years the best known lower bound for the maximum length of a cycle (path) in a connected vertex-transitive graph of order $n$ remained of the form $Ω(\sqrt{n})$, due to Babai (1979). A series of recent works has successively improved the exponent in this lower bound further. In this paper, improving the previous state-of-the-art bound $Ω(n^{9/14})$ due to Norin et al.~(2025), we prove that every connected vertex-transitive graph of order $n$ contains a cycle of length at least $n^{2/3-o(1)}$. This hits a natural barrier for several existing approaches from previous work. Our proofs combine recent embedding techniques for paths in sublinear expanders, sublinear expander decompositions of almost-regular graphs, and several additional combinatorial ideas.
$\mathbb Z$-Ramsey ultrafilters
We study $\mathbb{Z}$-Ramsey ultrafilters, ultrafilters containing witnesses to every shift-invariant instance of Ramsey's theorem. We prove that it is consistent that there are no $\mathbb Z$-Ramsey ultrafilters. We also prove that every $(\mathbb{Z},3)$-Ramsey ultrafilter, as well as every $\mathbb{Z}$-Ramsey P-point, is selective. Further, we exhibit a generic extension -- using quotient algebras of the form \(\mathcal{P}(\mathbb{Z})/\mathcal{I}\) for certain \(F_{σ}\)-ideals -- that contains P-points that are not \(\mathbb{Z}\)-Ramsey ultrafilters, thereby addressing open questions raised by Petrenko and Protasov.

Large point-degrees in intersecting families of finite vector spaces
Let \(V\) be an \(n\)-dimensional vector space over the finite field \(\Fq\), and let \(\Gr{V}{k}\) denote the family of all \(k\)-dimensional subspaces of \(V\). A family \(\cF\subseteq\Gr{V}{k}\) is called intersecting if \(\dim(F\cap F')\ge1\) for all \(F,F'\in\cF\). For a point \(P\le V\), let \(d_P(\cF)\) denote the number of members of \(\cF\) that contain \(P\), and order the point-degrees as \(d_1(\cF)\ge d_2(\cF)\ge\cdots\ge d_{\points{n}}(\cF)\), where \(\points{m}=(q^m-1)/(q-1)\) is the number of points in an \(m\)-dimensional subspace. Recent work of Frankl and Wang~\cite{FW2025} and of Huang and Rao~\cite{HR2026} established that for \(k\)-uniform intersecting families \(\cF\subseteq\binom{[n]}{k}\) with \(n\ge2k+1\), the bound \(\binom{n-2}{k-2}\) governs the order statistic \(d_{2k+1}(\cF)\). We prove that every intersecting family \(\cF\subseteq\Gr{V}{k}\) with \(n\ge2k+1\) satisfies \(d_{\points{k}^{2}}(\cF)\le\qbinom{n-2}{k-2}\). The naive \(q\)-analog of the Huang--Rao \((k+2)\)-th degree theorem fails, as a vector-space Hilton--Milner construction has \(\points{k+1}\) points of degree larger than \(\qbinom{n-2}{k-2}\); we prove the corrected bound \(d_{1+\points{k+1}}(\cF)\le\qbinom{n-2}{k-2}\) for fixed \(q\), sufficiently large \(k\), and \(n>3k\), using a structural theorem of Ihringer and Kupavskii~\cite{IK2026}. For larger degree indices \(i\), a saturated Frankl--Hilton--Milner family of Ihringer and Kupavskii identifies the conjectural sharp bound on \(d_{\points{i+1}}(\cF)\), and we prove two necessary conditions that any strict counterexample to this conjecture must satisfy.
Many holes but no large one: maximizing $k$-holes while forbidding $(k+1)$-holes
We study the maximal number $m_{k,\ell,n}$ of empty convex $k$-gons ($k$-holes) determined by an $n$-point set in the plane in general position that contains no empty convex $\ell~$-gon, focusing on the first nontrivial case $\ell=k+1$. Our main result determines the exact value in the small-excess regime: for $n=k+a$ with $a\le k/2-1$, we prove $m_{k,k+1,k+a}=2^a.$ We also describe the extremal configurations attaining equality. Beyond this exact range, we provide upper and lower bounds in the proportional regime $n=αk$ and in the regime where $k$ is fixed and $n$ goes to infinity. In the last mentioned regime we prove that $m_{k,k+1,n}=Ω_k(n^{\lfloor\frac{k}{3}\rfloor})$ and $m_{k,k+1,n}=O_k(n^{\lceil\frac{k}{2}\rceil+1}).$

Covering $\mathbb{F}_2^n$ with Hamming Balls
Green asked the following question concerning structures in sumsets: Suppose that $\mathbb{F}_2^n$ is partitioned into sets $A_1, \dots, A_K$. Does $A_i+A_i$ contain a coset of codimension $O_K(1)$ for some $i$? An answer is not known even in the case of $K = 3$. We resolve this question in the affirmative in two special cases: (1) when $A_1, A_2$ are Hamming balls of radius $r < n/2 - 7$ relative to different bases, and (2) when $A_1$ is a Hamming ball of sufficiently small constant density.

A spectral threshold for triangle counting
The 1970 spectral extension of Mantel's theorem, proved by Nosal, states that every graph with $m$ edges and spectral radius $ρ_1>\sqrt{m}$ contains at least one triangle. Its quantitative refinement by Ning and Zhai later established that any graph $G$ with $m$ edges and spectral radius $ρ_1\geq\sqrt{m}$ contains at least $\lfloor\frac{\sqrt{m}-1}{2}\rfloor$ triangles, unless $G$ is a complete bipartite graph. In this paper, we further investigate the minimum number of triangles guaranteed under the strengthened spectral condition $ρ_1\geq\sqrt{m}+c$, where $c$ is a positive constant. We prove that for any constant $c\in (0,\frac{1}{2}]$ and all sufficiently large $m$, if $s=s(m)$ is a real-valued function satisfying $\lim_{m\to\infty} \frac{s}{m}=c$, then every $m$-edge graph $G$ with spectral radius $ρ_1$ satisfying $ρ_1^2\geq m-1+\frac{2s}{ρ_1-1}$ contains at least $s$ triangles. Moreover, we characterize the extremal graph achieving the minimal number of triangles. In particular, when $s=\frac{m-1}2$, our result settles a conjecture proposed by Li, Feng, and Peng.

Minimum degree stability for graphs without odd-cycle blow-up
For fixed integers $g\ge 2$ and $t\ge 1$, and every $\varepsilon>0$, we prove that there exists a constant $ρ>0$ such that every $n$-vertex graph $G$ with $δ(G)\ge (2/(2g+1)+\varepsilon)n$ either contains $C_{2g-1}[t]$, or can be made bipartite by deleting $O(n^{2-ρ})$ edges. This gives an affirmative answer to a question of Illingworth in [Minimum degree stability of $H$-free graphs, Combinatorica, 43(1):129-147, 2023.]

Improved bounds on the b-chromatic number using the independence and chromatic numbers
A b-coloring of a graph $G$ is a proper vertex coloring where each color class contains at least one vertex (a b-vertex) adjacent to a vertex in every other color class. The maximum number of colors in such a coloring is the b-chromatic number, ${\rm b}(G)$. A ${\rm b}^{\ast}$-coloring is a variation in which a b-vertex is adjacent to a b-vertex in every other color class. We employ the ${\rm b}^{\ast}$-coloring to prove that any $n$-vertex graph $G$ with independence number at most $t$ satisfies ${\rm b}(G) \leq ((t-1)n+tχ(G))/(2t-1)$. This bound extends the bounds of Kouider and Zaker (2006) and Alkhateeb and Kohl (2011). We show that this bound is sharp for all $t\geq 2$ and $χ(G)\geq 3$. Furthermore, we provide a refined bound based on the maximum number of vertex-disjoint independent sets of size $t$. Finally, we present an upper bound on the ${\rm b}^{\ast}$-chromatic number of $K_{1,s}$-free graphs.
Dirac subgraphs of powers of cycles are Hamiltonian
We show that, for every $\varepsilon>0$ and all sufficiently large $k$, any spanning subgraph of the $k$th power of a cycle with minimum degree at least $(1+\varepsilon)k$ contains a Hamilton cycle. This asymptotically settles a conjecture of Espuny Díaz, Lichev, and Wesolek.

On the maximum number of $k$-holes in point sets with no $(k + 1)$-hole
The classical problem of Erdős asks for the minimum number of empty convex $k$-gons determined by an $n$-element point set in the plane. The celebrated empty hexagon theorem, proved independently by Gerken and Nicolás, shows that every sufficiently large planar point set contains a $6$-hole, while Horton's famous construction shows the existence of arbitrarily large point sets with no $7$-hole. In this paper, we initiate the study of the maximum number of $k$-holes in planar point sets with no $(k+1)$-hole. More precisely, for each fixed $k\geq 6$, let $h_k(n)$ be the maximum number of $k$-holes determined by a planar point set in general position, of size at most $n$, and with no $(k+1)$-hole. We prove that there are absolute constants $c_1,c_2>0$ such that $(c_1/k)^{\lfloor k/3\rfloor} n^{\lfloor k/3\rfloor} \leq h_k(n)\leq (c_2/k)^{\lceil k/2\rceil} n^{\lceil k/2\rceil}$.

An Erdős-Ko-Rado Theorem for Tilings
We prove an Erdős-Ko-Rado type extremal result for tilings of a $1 \times n$ chessboard by tiles whose lengths belong to a set $Λ$. Two tilings are said to intersect if they contain a tile spanning the same set of squares. We prove that if $1\inΛ$, then the maximum size of an intersecting family of tilings is attained by the set of all tilings containing a fixed singleton tile at one of its ends. This result generalizes a theorem of Butler, Horn and Tressler, which is equivalent to the case $Λ=\{1,2\}$.

Erdős-Hajnal beyond the five-vertex path
The well-known Erdős-Hajnal conjecture states that for any graph $H$, there is a constant $c=c(H)>0$ such that every $n$-vertex graph $G$ with no induced copies of $H$ contains a clique or an independent set of size at least $n^{c}$. In a recent breakthrough, Nguyen, Scott and Seymour proved that Erdős-Hajnal conjecture holds for the five-vertex path (Proceedings of London Mathematical Society 2026), which implies that Erdős-Hajnal conjecture holds for every five-vertex graph. In this paper, we prove that Erdős-Hajnal conjecture holds for graphs with no induced copies of $E$-graph, where $E$-graph is the graph obtained from the five-vertex path $P_5$ by adding a pendent edge to the middle vertex of the $P_5$. Our result generalizes the result of Nguyen, Scott and Seymour on five-vertex path. The proof uses the iterative sparsification framework proposed by Nguyen, Scott and Seymour in their series work on Erdős-Hajnal conjecture with our generalization. We first reduce Erdős-Hajnal conjecture to a property called generlaized nice, which is a generalization of the ``nice'' property used in [T.~Nguyen, A.~Scott, and P.~Seymour. Induced subgraph density. VII. The five-vertex path. {\em Proceedings of the London Mathematical Society}, 132(3):e70133, 2026]. We then reduce the generalized nice property to a new property related to a structure called comb, where comb was first used in [M.~Chudnovsky, A.~Scott, P.~Seymour, and S.~Spirkl. Erdős-Hajnal for graphs with no 5-hole. {\em Proceedings of the London Mathematical Society}, 126(3): 997-1014, 2023]. Finally, we show that $E$-graph satisfies the desired property via a careful structural analysis imposed by the forbidden induced subgraph. One key step in the proof is to prove, via defining appropriate equivalence relations, that certain auxiliary graph satisfies the Erdős-Hajnal conjecture.
Impartial geodetic removing games on graphs
A subset of the vertex set of a graph is geodetically convex if it contains every vertex on any shortest path between two elements of the subset. The convex hull of a set of vertices is the smallest convex set containing the set. We study two games in which two players take turns selecting vertices of a graph until the convex hull of the jointly unselected vertices is too small. The last player to move is the winner. The achievement game ends when the convex hull of the jointly unselected vertices is not the vertex set. In the avoidance game, the convex hull of the jointly unselected vertices must always be the vertex set. We study the nim-values for several graph families, including cycle graphs, hypercube graphs, complete multipartite graphs, wheel graphs, generalized wheel graphs, and graphs with a unique minimal generating set.

Erdős Rado Sunflower (Conjecture) Theorem
Let $f(k,s)$ denote the minimum integer $m$ such that any family $\mathcal{F}$ consisting of $k$-sized sets of cardinality at least $m$ always contain a sunflower of size $s$. The Erdős-Rado Sunflower Conjecture states that for every $s >2$, there is an constant $C=C(s)$ such that $f(k,s) \leq C^k$. In this paper, we prove the conjecture.

$K_{2, t+1}$-free graphs containing an optimal number of $K_{t, t}$'s
The generalized Turán number $ex(n, K_{t, t}, K_{2, t+1})$ is the maximum number of copies of $K_{t, t}$ that a $K_{2, t+1}$-free graph on $n$ vertices can contain. Recently, Pohoata, Tidor, and Yu established that $ex(n, K_{t, t}, K_{2, t+1}) = Θ_t(n^2)$ for all integers $t \geq 3$. In this short note, we use an explicit construction to establish that when $t$ is a prime power and $n = t^{2e - 1}$, then $$ ex(n, K_{t, t}, K_{2, t+1}) = (1 + o(1))\frac{n^2}{2t(t-1)}. $$

A Sparse Transference Principle for a Non-Monotone Ramsey Property
We prove a sparse transference theorem for induced Ramsey graphs. The theorem transfers the weighted random-host proof of Aragão, Campos, Dahia, Filipe, and Marciano to the sparse random setting. It follows that, for every fixed graph $H$ with no isolated vertices and at least two edges, and every $η>0$, there is $C>0$ such that, whenever $N\ge r^{Cr}$ and $N^{-1/m_2(H)+η}\le p\le \frac12$, with high probability every $r$-colouring of the edges of $G(N,p)$ contains a monochromatic induced copy of $H$. Here, $m_2(H)$ denotes the usual maximum 2-density of $H$.

Connectivities for k-knitted graphs and for minimal counterexamples to Hadwiger's Conjecture
For a given subset $S\subseteq V(G)$ of a graph $G$, the pair $(G,S)$ is \emph{knitted} if for every partition of $S$ into non-empty subsets $S_1, S_2, \ldots, S_t$, there exist pairwise disjoint connected subgraphs $C_1, C_2, \ldots, C_t$ in $G$ such that $S_i\subseteq V(C_i)$ for all $1 \le i \le t$. A graph $G$ is \emph{$\ell$-knitted} if $(G,S)$ is knitted for every subset $S\subseteq V(G)$ of size $\ell$. In this paper, we prove that every $8\ell$-connected graph is $\ell$-knitted. We subsequently apply this result to Hadwiger's Conjecture, which states that every $k$-chromatic graph contains a $K_k$-minor. Specifically, we demonstrate that the vertex connectivity of any minimal counterexample to Hadwiger's Conjecture is at least $\lceil k/8 \rceil$, improving upon the previous lower bound of $\lceil 2k/27 \rceil$ established by Kawarabayashi (2007). Our proof corrects a gap in the argument of Kawarabayashi-Yu~(2013) and establishes the claim stated without proof in Liu--Rolek--Yu~(2019).
