Multi-entropy in random tensor networks
We study the evaluation of Rényi multi-entropies $S^{(q)}_n$ in Random Tensor Network (RTN) states in the large bond-dimension limit. For the case of Rényi index $n=2$ and arbitrary number of parties $q$, we prove that that multi-entropies are determined by minimal multiway cuts through the network. When the minimal multiway cut is degenerate, we characterize the full minimizer set via compatible families of minimal cuts and give a criterion for all minimizers to come from ordinary cut partitions. For $n=2$, this gives a natural generalization of the minimal cut description of bipartite entanglement to multipartite systems with arbitrarily many parties. For the case of integer $n>2$, we show that the minimal multiway cut conjecture is in general \emph{not true} by providing explicit counter examples for both the single random tensor and for the network built from isometric tilings. We discuss the implication for our results on the multipartite entanglement structures in RTN and holography.

Amplituhedra and origami, II: loop level
Building on the recently discovered origami-amplituhedron correspondence, we prove that the BCFW (Britto-Cachazo-Feng-Witten) cells triangulate the $m=4$ amplituhedron in full generality at all loop orders, both in momentum and momentum-twistor space. Along the way, we develop two natural "$L$-punctured" extensions of the positive Grassmannian and relate them via T-duality.
Constraining Conformal Correlators
We study the space of conformally covariant $n$-point functions of spinning operators using methods from invariant theory, commutative algebra, and combinatorics. We show that the rational part of any such function can be expressed in terms of the basic building blocks introduced by Costa, Penedones, Poland, Rychkov, thereby providing a rigorous proof of a result that is widely used in the physics literature. We reformulate the problem of enumeration of $n$-point structures in terms of counting lattice points in fractional matching polytopes, and compute these counts using vector partition functions, Hilbert functions, and Kostka numbers. We show that all algebraic relations between the building blocks follow from Gram constraints and compute the number of algebraically independent building blocks. For three-point functions, we derive closed counting formulas for arbitrary integer spins, both with and without Bose symmetry, and discuss a necessary and sufficient condition for the partial conservation operator to lift to a differential operator written in terms of the building blocks. We provide code that generates a basis of three-point structures satisfying these constraints for given values of spins and scaling dimensions.

A solvable model of 3d quantum gravity
We consider a model of 3d quantum gravity defined by $n$ copies of a rational Virasoro TQFT with central charge $1/2$, summed over all 3d topologies. This theory is holographically dual to an ensemble of all 2d CFTs with central charge $c=n/2$ and chiral algebra that includes $Vir_{1/2}^n$. We perform the sum over topologies and evaluate the partition function of the bulk theory. We then confirm the holographic duality by matching it to the boundary ensemble for small $n$. We proceed to consider the limit of a large central charge, in which the bulk theory simplifies and condenses to an Abelian phase. In this regime, the model manifests many features expected in semiclassical 3d quantum gravity. In particular, inclusion of all 3d topologies in the bulk sum cures the negativity of the density of states evaluated by the torus partition function. The model also exhibits a Hawking-Page transition, an exponentially suppressed wormhole amplitude, and provides a toy example of the holographic code. We discuss these aspects in detail and conclude with lessons for semiclassical quantum gravity.

Positive Geometries from Cubic Surfaces
We present a study of cubic surfaces from the novel perspective of positive geometry. Our positive geometries have dimension two (the surface minus its 27 lines), dimension three (its complement in 3-space), and dimension four (the moduli space). In each case we explore the positive arrangement, its combinatorial rank, and the canonical forms.

Large $N$ factorization of families of tensor trace-invariants
It was recently proven that, in contrast to their matrix analogues, the moments of a real Gaussian tensor of size N do not in general factorize over their connected components in the asymptotic large N limit. While the original proof of this rather surprising result was not constructive, explicit examples of non-factorizing moments, which are expectation values of trace-invariants, have since then been discovered. We explore further aspects of this problem, with a focus on Haar-distributed (or Gaussian) complex random tensors, which are more directly relevant to quantum information. We start out by exhibiting an explicit example of non-factorizing trace-invariant, thereby filling a gap in the recent literature. We then turn to the opposite question: that of finding interesting families of trace-invariants that do in fact factorize at large N. We establish three main theorems in this regard. The first one provides a sufficient combinatorial bound ensuring large N factorization, that is also simple enough to be applicable to various cases of practical relevance. Our second main result shows that the expectation value of any compatible trace-invariant is dominated by certain tree-like combinatorial structures at large N, which we refer to as tree-like dominant pairings. Our third main theorem establishes that any trace-invariant admitting tree-like dominant pairings does actually factorize at large N. In this way, we are able to prove that various families of trace-invariants that have been previously studied in the literature do factorize at large N. We apply our findings to the theory of multipartite quantum entanglement: to any trace-invariant is associated a multipartite generalization of Rényi entanglement entropy, whose typical expectation value in the uniform random quantum state can be explicitly computed assuming large N factorization.

On conjectural fermionic formulas for the Macdonald index in Argyres-Douglas theories
We prove a fermionic-bosonic duality relation for the Macdonald index in Argyres-Douglas theories of type $(A_1, D_{2k+1})$, thereby yielding a conjectural fermionic formula due to Andrews et al. Our duality is built upon a new conjugate Bailey pair to be established using techniques from orthogonal polynomials and basic hypergeometric series. In addition, this fermionic formula implies another sum-like expression for the Macdonald index conjectured by Kim, Kim, and Song.

Dynkin diagrams, generalized Nahm sums and 2d CFTs
A folklore conjecture states that the Nahm sum associated with a pair of Dynkin diagrams of type $ADET$ is a modular function. In this paper, we extend this conjecture to Dynkin diagrams of type $ABCDEFGT$ in the context of generalized Nahm sums. The modular Nahm sums are closely related to the characters of 2d rational conformal field theories. In this work, we identify many specific generalized Nahm sums with characters of some well-studied 2d CFTs. For example, we find that the generalized Nahm sums associated with $(T_1, C_r)$ and $(T_1,D_r)$ correspond to the supersymmetric Virasoro minimal models $\mathrm{SM}(4r+6, 4)$ and $\mathrm{SM}(8r+4, 2)$, respectively.
Enumeration of general planar hypermaps with an alternating boundary
In this paper, we extend the enumerative study of planar hypermaps with an alternating boundary introduced in an earlier work of Bouttier and the second author. In that article, an explicit rational parametrization was obtained for the associated generating function in the case of m-constellations, using a variant of the kernel method. We develop here a new strategy to obtain an algebraic equation in the general case, which includes maps decorated by the Ising model, through a classical many-to-one correspondence. One of the main steps of our strategy is the simultaneous elimination of two catalytic variables. We then apply this strategy to the case of Ising quadrangulations, where we obtain an explicit rational parametrization. As a consequence, we show that some notable properties of the constellations case are no longer satisfied in general.
Landau Analysis in the Grassmannian
Momentum twistors for scattering amplitudes in particle physics are lines in three-space. We develop Landau analysis for Feynman integrals in this setting. The resulting discriminants and resultants are identified with Hurwitz and Chow forms of incidence varieties in products of Grassmannians. We study their degrees and factorizations, and the kinematic regimes in which the fibers of the Landau map are rational or real. Identifying this map with the amplituhedron map on positroid varieties, and the associated recursions with promotion maps, yields a geometric mechanism for the emergence of positivity and cluster structures in planar N=4 super Yang-Mills theory.
CayleyPy-4: AI-Holography. Towards analogs of holographic string dualities for AI tasks
This is the fourth paper in the CayleyPy project, which applies AI methods to the exploration of large graphs. In this work, we suggest the existence of a new discrete version of holographic string dualities for this setup, and discuss their relevance to AI systems and mathematics. Many modern AI tasks -- such as those addressed by GPT-style language models or RL systems -- can be viewed as direct analogues of predicting particle trajectories on graphs. We investigate this problem for a large family of Cayley graphs, for which we show that surprisingly it admits a dual description in terms of discrete strings. We hypothesize that such dualities may extend to a range of AI systems where they can lead to more efficient computational approaches. In particular, string holographic images of states are proposed as natural candidates for data embeddings, motivated by the "complexity = volume" principle in AdS/CFT. For Cayley graphs of the symmetric group S_n, our results indicate that the corresponding dual objects are flat, planar polygons. The diameter of the graph is equal to the number of integer points inside the polygon scaled by n. Vertices of the graph can be mapped holographically to paths inside the polygon, and the usual graph distances correspond to the area under the paths, thus directly realising the "complexity = volume" paradigm. We also find evidence for continuous CFTs and dual strings in the large n limit. We confirm this picture and other aspects of the duality in a large initial set of examples. We also present new datasets (obtained by a combination of ML and conventional tools) which should be instrumental in establishing the duality for more general cases.

The ABCT Variety $V(3,n)$ is a Positive Geometry
The ABCT variety $V(3,n)$ is the image closure of the rational Veronese map from the Grassmannian $\operatorname{Gr}(2,n)$ to the Grassmannian $\operatorname{Gr}(3,n)$. It was studied by Arkani-Hamed--Bourjaily--Cachazo--Trnka in the context of tree-level scattering amplitudes arising in planar $\mathcal N=4$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and Witten's twistor string theory. From this perspective, $V(3,n)$ is conjectured to be a positive geometry by Lam. In this paper, we study the combinatorial and algebraic geometry aspects of $V(3,n)$ and its subvarieties induced by iteratively taking analytic boundaries of the totally nonnegative part. We interpret these subvarieties as point configurations on $\mathbb{P}^2$ by the Gelfand-MacPherson correspondence. We construct a top-degree meromorphic form on $V(3,n)$ and show that it is a positive geometry, proving Lam's conjecture.

Low order maximally single-trace graphs as the first counterexamples to large N factorization in random tensors
We give the first and lowest order examples of 3-regular 3-edge-colored graphs that demonstrate the non-factorization of tensor model invariants in the large N limit of Gaussian random tensors, as proven on general grounds in [Gurau R., Joos F. and Sudakov B., Lett. Math. Phys., 115 (2025), arXiv:2506.15362 [math-ph]]. This non-factorization is in stark contrast to the well-known large N factorization for random matrices.

Crystal Melting, Triality and Partition Functions for Toric Calabi-Yau Fourfolds
We extend the study of the recently introduced crystal melting models associated to toric Calabi-Yau 4-folds in several directions. In particular, we investigate in greater detail the structure of these models for general toric CY 4-folds and flavor configurations, using the explicit example of $Q^{1,1,1}$ to illustrate our ideas. To this end, we develop an efficient algorithm for constructing crystals based on periodic quivers. A central goal of this work is to understand the behavior of crystals and their partition functions under triality. We analyze the evolution of crystals along periodic triality cascades and generate detailed data for these systems, including Hasse diagrams, partition functions, and the multiplicities of melting configurations. We introduce the notion of stable variables and show that they lead to the stabilization of the partition functions along cascades. Finally, we define the profile of the crystal partition function and observe that, when expressed in terms of stable variables, it displays interesting behavior. A further motivation for this work is to generate empirical data that may guide the search for a physically motivated generalization of cluster algebras associated with $2d$ (0,2) quiver theories and their triality transformations.

Gauge-string duality, monomial bases and graph determinants
Questions at the intersection of the AdS/CFT correspondence and quantum information theory motivate the study of projectors in sequences of subalgebras of finite-dimensional commutative associative semisimple algebras $\mathcal{A}$, obtained by incrementally adjoining one generator at each step to produce a non-linear generating set for $\mathcal{A}$. We define degeneracy graphs, which are finite layered tree graphs whose nodes represent projectors in the successive subalgebras. Using combinatorial properties of the degeneracy graph, we give a simple formula for constructing a linear basis of $\mathcal{A}$ in terms of monomials in the generators. The nodes can be labelled by formal variables corresponding to the eigenvalues of the generators added at each layer. We prove that the construction is compatible with the required counting of projectors in $\mathcal{A}$, and give explicit constructions of the projectors in terms of the monomials, in the cases of one- and two-layer degeneracy graphs with arbitrary numbers of nodes. More generally, we provide extensive computational evidence for the invertibility of the matrix relating the proposed monomial basis to the projector basis, by evaluating its determinant. In the 1-layer case, this is a Vandermonde determinant. A simple formula for the non-vanishing determinant in the general layer case is conjectured and supported by the computational data. The construction is illustrated with examples including centres of symmetric group algebras and maximally commuting subalgebras generated by JucysMurphy elements. We outline applications of the monomial basis to algorithms for constructing matrix units in non-commutative semisimple algebras, with relevance to orthogonal bases of multi-matrix gauge-invariant operators and to quantum information theory.
Combinatorics of the Cosmohedron
The cosmohedron was recently proposed as a polytope underlying the cosmological wavefunction for $\text{Tr}(Φ^3)$ theory. Its faces were conjectured to be in bijection with Matryoshkas, which are obtained from a subdivision of a polygon by sequentially wrapping groups of polygons into larger polygons. In this paper we prove the correctness of this construction, and elucidate its combinatorial structure. Cosmohedra generalize to a wider class of $\mathcal{X}$ in $Y$ polytopes, where we chisel a polytope from the family $\mathcal{X}$ at each vertex of a polytope $Y$. We sketch a new application of these chiseled polytopes to the physics of ultraviolet divergences in loop-integrated Feynman amplitudes.

Proofs of some conjectures of Okazaki and Smith on line defect half-indices of ${\rm SU}(N)$ Chern-Simons theories
Okazaki and Smith discovered many elegant formulas expressing some matrix integrals as some celebrated $q$-series such as the Rogers--Ramanujan functions or Jacobi theta functions. These integrals arise as Wilson line defect half-indices of 3d $\mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetric ${\rm SU}(N)$ Chern-Simons theories. We evaluate them by carefully calculating the constant terms of some infinite products. Along the way we use some crucial facts about antisymmetric multivariate formal Laurent series. Consequently, we prove three general conjectures of Okazaki and Smith which provide explicit formulas for half indices of the ${\rm SU}(N)_{-N-k}$ ($k=0,1/2,1$) Chern-Simons theories. During the process, we extend these ${\rm SU}(N)$ formulas to include one additional parameter. Furthermore, we generalize the ${\rm SU}(N)_{-N-1/2}$ and ${\rm SU}(N)_{-N-1}$ conjectures by calculating the corresponding half-indices of Wilson lines of arbitrary charge. As a special instance of our generalizations, we also confirm the ${\rm SU}(3)_{-4}$ conjecture of Okazaki and Smith.

The Universe Fan
The wavefunction of the universe, as studied in perturbative quantum field theory, is a rational function whose singularities and factorization properties encode a rich underlying combinatorial structure. We define and study a broad generalization of such wavefunctions that can be associated to any lattice. We obtain these wavefunctions as the Laplace transform of a polyhedral fan, the universe fan, whose cones are defined by positivity conditions reflecting a notion of causality in the lattice, and we describe its face lattice. In the matroid case, the universe fan projects to the nested set fan, and the wavefunctions we define recover the matroid amplitudes introduced by Lam as residues. Moreover, in the case relevant for physics, the positivity conditions give a novel way to study the wavefunction, and we show how it is related to the cosmological polytopes of Arkani-Hamed, Benincasa, Postnikov. Finally, we study refinements of the universe fan induced by piecewise linear (tropical) functions. The resulting subdivisions project to refinements of the nested set fan and correspond dually to blow-ups of matroid polytopes, generalizing the cosmohedron polytope.

Positive Charts of Toric Varieties
Published • View Publication • BIB
We construct affine charts of a smooth projective toric variety which contain its nonnegative points, and which admit a closed embedding into the total coordinate space of Cox's quotient construction. We show that such positive charts arise from smooth subcones of the nef cone. To each positive chart we associate an algebraic moment map, the fibers of which are the critical points of a monomial function in Cox coordinates. This work provides a toric framework for the theory of $u$-equations in positive geometry.
